Joymax is an idiot.

They're just saying that if you want to prevent your account from being banned for inactivity, then you 'should have' logged in more regularly to keep the account active. It's too late now that it's blocked.
It's unfortunate, but when you create an account for SRO, you're supposed to read the TOS (not that most people even bother). You sign up and use the account, you effectively agree to the terms. The terms said that if you stop using the account for 'too long', that Joymax can ban it for inactivity. Those are the terms you agreed to.

It's kind of like that set of seemingly abandoned train tracks that haven't had a train go by in YEARS. Then one day, someone decides to park their car on the tracks and BOOM. Train comes by and plows through your car. Shouldn't have parked there should you? You had to know there was the possibility of your car getting hit... especially when the local train stations start posting news stories about them using the tracks in the near future.
Happened at a job I had one time, but with robotic fork lifts, not a train.

Which is fun because "too long" is an unspecified lapse of time, it could be anything joymax wants it to mean. A month, a year, a week, a day, an hour... whaveter joymax decides as it is unspecified in the TOS.
Also, joymax had never banned accounts for inactivity until now so these terms weren't taken seriously nor even talked about.
Banning silk buying accounts is just another fine move from the outstanding joymax company, a move which is sure to bring joymax customer fidelity. Read : if this doesnt draw away many people from supporting JM, what will?
For me I merely got lucky : I guess my accounts, although totally freeloader ones, never were inactive for long enough to get banned for inactivity. But hearing that silk buyers got banned for inactivity makes me

These guys are just stupid indeed. Or they're just koreans? I mean, koreans aren't stupid but respecting customers may not be in their culture?
Or maybe, they are koreans dealing with non-koreans?
Maybe joymax doesn't treat its korean customers like that?
I don't know... but I'd get pissed at not only joymax but also at asian game companies in general if I had had a silk-buying account banned for inactivity. What a croak of BS, what an outrageously disrespecting move from a business company.
BTW, silk buyers... you know there are REAL mmorpgs out there, the ones called "pay to play" which only charge you a measly 12 to 15$ a month (what's that, one premium?!!!) for a REAL service, not a shitty insulting joke.
P.S. "he should have read the rules" doesn't cut it, by far.
Get a clue, and dont be sheep. JM is treating its customers like shit. They should have specified the amount of time after which an account is considered inactive, they should have warned in advance that they were gonna ban inactive accounts, and they should have warned in a sufficient amount of time in advance, a single week wouldnt have cut it.

Last I checked, the length of time is specified in their TOS. I believe it was 6 months of inactivity on a non-silk account and 1 year for a silk account, something like that.
Truie wrote:Also, joymax had never banned accounts for inactivity until now so these terms weren't taken seriously nor even talked about.
Again, the abandoned railroad track example. Train hasn't come for 5 years. Do you really want to park that nice sports car on the tracks while you and your friends hit a few bars? I wouldn't.
Truie wrote:Banning silk buying accounts is just another fine move from the outstanding joymax company, a move which is sure to bring joymax customer fidelity. Read : if this doesnt draw away many people from supporting JM, what will?
From a security perspective, it doesn't matter if the account has silk or not. It's common "best practice" on any information system to delete, or at least block, accounts that have become inactive for a certain amount of time. Most systems I've seen are closer to a month or 3, not a year. Joymax doesn't need, from a security standpoint, thousands of accounts on their system that no one uses anymore. If you buy silk on your account, then just stop playing and don't even bother logging in for a year, how long should Joymax continue to backup data that you never use? It's not their fault you bought something and didn't use it (you knew the terms).

I don't think it has anything to do with respect, or lack thereof, at all. If you buy silk from Joymax, and then decide to not log in and use it, how long should Joymax continue to make that silk (or the account) available to you? If 7,000 users buy 30 silk, and abandon the accounts, should Joymax continue to back up all of that data week after week, year after year, with the hopes that everyone will log in... someday... to use it?
