Question about powerlvl party level.

So I'm curious, I've heard on here that 9-10 lvl diff between the mob and your lvl is the best for a powerlvl party. In game, people have told me that 11-15 is the best, and others 6-9 is the best. So can someone pls confirm which diff is the best?
This is my party right now. My nub 54, friends 55 and 56, My awesome and badass 77 grinding on either PEGS. 62-64, or Earth Ghost Warriors or whatever, 65-66. Should I stay at PEGS since the gap would be the 6-9, or go to the warriors where the gap is 9-10, or go to nachals where the gap is 11-15. Or should I find someone that's a higher lvl than my 77. I might still have a lvl 85 spear nuker. Friend quit and gave me the info awhile back, but I never played with it since I don't like spear.

Stay in the place where your safe... I usually powerlevel on something 13-14 levels above me, so I can stay on those mobs for 4-5 levels till they are 9 levels above me... It still decent experience.
I dont perfer cave, since you cannot throw a lv.1 noob in your party, so you decrease avearge party level.
In theory, you gain the most experience from mobs that are 11 levels above your level, and best skill points from mobs that are 20 level higher than your highest mastery.

I did a lot of testing with powerlvl when Euro's came out and it is somewhere between 11 and 12. 11 is easiest to go with.

Sorry I forgot to post this, is it 11 levels over your nub or is it 11 lvls over the avg party lvl?

Joymax specifically said that 11 levels above the character level is the highest gain. beyond that there is a penalty. but most people tend to not be present when plvling, or getting plvled. so going a few levels above and being penalized doesnt usually bother them.

Joymax can say that, but in testing early on, I checked 11 and 12...
11 level difference, 50 samples
205.2 average xp gain
12 levels difference, 50 samples
205.9 (a lot of 205's but at least 10 206's)
So yes, technically still 205.
