First of all, if it's duplicated just put a "#duplicated"... don't start spamming. :)

Is this true?

Oh and I knew they were monitoring bot activities but... can we take this seriously?

Edit: Lol, I'm spamming my own thread... sorry.

Yes but there were 2 updates regarding their new anti bot system.
1) It was installed
2) It was applied

Well, anyway, I'm sure this is not going to end the gold selling market. =/

I have no idea why joymax would do it this way. They have proven time and time again that they are capable of auto detecting and banning bots, the problem is keeping them away and this certainly won't help with that. They need to alter the account creation process to prevent it from becoming automated.

3 strikes makes sense in case someone is retarded and doesn't understand what they're doing... I sure hope this means less turks. Getting annoying having 10 lvl 100 turks running around smk all day killing all in sight.

Only thing I'm worried is that after the first strike, they will just ignore you. Guess we'll find out soon enough...

sure, after I quit SRO, they do something...

In all likelihood they'll continue the same line while really not addressing the problem.

Actions continue to speak louder than words when it comes to Joymax.

Go check it. It's there.

EDIT: Nvm, you changed your post :P

P.S.: I agree with the 3 steps before full ban. I personally know some people who are dumb enough to still think botting is legal, and they argue defending their point! :P

ok this is weird, they have implemented something similiar in cSRO. xD

EDIT: In cSRO you get first a 10day ban, but you can buy yourself 'free' for 60 silks.
Second punishment will be 15 day ban, and you can buy yourself 'free' for 120 silks.
Third punishment is also 15 days, but you can't buy yourself free.

Well I think it was like that, google translate lol.

Lawlz, I don't believe it.
Every year when the GNGWC happens, they announce anti-bot measurements & punishments....
Every year has been a fluke.....
And their 'bot-detection' system, where is it?
2 weeks in a row, only the sro_client.exe got updated.
I found out that they now packed the client & they changed the OPCODES (whatever that is).

I think they are afraid that one of the Players @ GNGWC is gonna talk to the press and shoot them off as the worst company ever; that they don't know how to run the game.
And such bad publicity in Korea could be very bad for them.

So far their anti bot system has disconnected more legits with that stupid "Diferent version" message than bots

Of course I'm going to believe they'll actually ban bots

that message is nothing more than the old "you have been disconnected from the server" message, they just changed the text to scare people

Even if it is true then gees, it's like they are just warning them all so they don't get caught lol.

They use to ban for a certain period of time before, I remember one bot that got banned went on to get unbanned then get named on the website for a silk assistant, or winning some constest, not sure exactly which. But immediatly after the bots were unbanned they were botting again lol.

I don't believe any company that actually wants to get rid of bots or keep the quality of gameplay decent could fail this hard though.

Oh hai. I recognize that. Zomg it is their old anti bot policy they never enforced! Hmmmm they make a nice pretty picture reposting it this time. They must be serious to make pretty pictures. Oh wait they made pretty pictures for the last fake bot bans they did. =/ Jinkies they made pretty pictures for the fake bot ban before that. And the one before that. And before that, and that, and that, and that. I am beginning to see a pattern. T_T joymax are lying SOBs.

JM dug themselves a huge hole when they didn't do anything about botting in the past 4 years. Now a lot of players are heavily reliant on botting and would not hand grind again (especially caped players). I foresee a lot of people quitting. JM wont like that

There are 2 possible outcomes put forth here:

1) JM is blowing smoke as usual and nothing is gonna happen

2) If they are gonna go through with this then capped players would stay around and have one last time with their chars until the next cap increase then quit. And all the lower level players that are botting would start to quit. Leaving a few hand grinders.

Also many hand grinders wont get to the cap anytime soon and will be pwned consistently by the botters that got their before the ban policy was put in place. It would be better if JM banned all caped players that botted. This would give us hand grinders some kind of justice.

A valid point you make here but the reason why most players have this continued addiction with SRO is because they can throw money at the game with no effort whatsoever on their part and become successful(Caped/best gears/all the skills etc). Once they realize they have sit down and hand grind their way I think their addiction will cease.

That addiction of not doing anything and getting everything by tossing money at JM is what JM might be afraid of loosing.

there aren't a lot of new players coming in. noone in their right mind would download a game then wait 6 hours to log in.. the only reason some of us still do it is because before it was easier and we're already hooked.
