I'm willing to put money that it will be back to old sro within 2 days. not trying to be negative or anything, but unless it's a miracle then it should go back, like with all previous updates.

they only changed the packets of the client....so example SF35Y35 would be some skill now its FW945F54 that's all.

This is exactly what I said they should have done in a previous post, but keep it up every week, so by the time the clientless find out the packet subjects, Joymax have already changed it.

it probably takes them a week to change it

Which by then, the new inspection will be in place so they can update with the new packet subjects.

A retarded idea since player bots are already botting away only a few hours after the inspection and this supposedly "packet subject" changes

player bots use the client they only need to find out the skills and some other things then there done. clientless bots however need to figure out EVERY packet and it takes awhile.

Yes. But the gold bots are what are really causing the server traffic.

yeah i can stand player bots, what i cant stand is gold companies crowding the server, the server has been populated for 10 hours+ since inspection, its a new record, even if it stays like this only for 3 days after every weekly inspection, its a step forward!

You honestly have no knowledge of programming whatsoever, so please refrain from joining intellectual conversations involving it..

I'm not sure what BuDo's comment has anything to do with his expertise (or lack of) in programming. The whole packet change idea is a good start at least, but how helpful is it if the bots are back in a few hours or a day or two? I guess it will give us a day or so of peaceful grinding until they are back. Apparently if the bots are able to come back in a day or two after these "packet subject" changes, then Joymax needs to do more than just that.

now the servers are back to normal again xD
We should wait til the next bot ban list... if they didn't ban any bot last time it means the next one would be a huge one... or that's what I'm thinking (which is probably wrong).
Remember the "BRAND NEW ANTI SUPER BOT """"RESTRICTION"""" SYSTEM" is running.
And I think you all are right, gold bots are clientless. That's why it took some time to fill the servers again... what a pity to ruin a game.
But I still think that's a problem of the community.
I bought some Silk with my credit card and one friend there told me if I want to start selling Silk... why? why I should do that? I've a work, I work for like 10 hours and why do I need more money?
He told me to buy gold too... why I should buy gold when I just could pick it from the mobs?
It's kinda weird. In fact, I'm thinking I was a dumbass (sorry for that word) because I've spent some money on it... legally.
Edit: I SPENT MONEY ON SILK, BUYING FROM JOYMAX PAGE
Lol at myself!

Well, seeing as all bots are clientless, they should just run a MD5 check on the client used, if an invalid MD5 is passed, or one isn't passed at all, just disconnect the user. Then salt the shit out of the MD5 value before sending it to the server from the official client. That would fix the problem of clientless bots, but Joymax don't seem to understand how to program security.

well the thing is you can mimic the client no matter what they do.....the trick is to not announce a patch your doing to sro_client.exe. the patch could be like a small code generator that sends a code to the server then if its the right code you stay connected.
