i've heard he asked a friend yesterday about the use of immortal, the friend explained him it prevents the destroy of the item; the reply was something like "its too expensive and i dont need it"

I have never tested this myself because I never wanted to risk it. A player in Troy did the same thing LindaJane.
It sucks because ppl used real $$$ on these items. I can understand why the person would quit... I have failed many +8's trying to go to +9 it makes you sick sometimes. In the end though at least it is only a game.
