This is the whole thread of email trying to talk to nProtect (Maker of GameGuard).
ENJOY!!!

Hope this will make you all happy! ^_^

Contents :
Joymax is using GameGuard logo but failed to use it. It seems that your company's products works well since you have an impressive clientel and good reputation. But JoyMax is using GameGuard
but doesn't seem to make it work. Since hacking programs already invaded the game and JoyMax failed to respond accordingly. Pls look into this because GameGuard's reputation is at stake. Thank you!

Dear ,

Thank you for your concern and information.

This is Jay from INCA Internet, providing GameGuard.

Could you please tell me which game you are playing since we are providing our solutions to many different games that Joymax services?

Is it Silkroad or DarkEden?

I hope to hear from you soon.

Best,

Dear Mr. Jay

It is SilkRoad Online. As i stated in my e-mail...i would like to clarify if SilkRoad really uses GameGuard. Since GameGuard still pops-up in the game's startup. Massive use of Bot programs are inside the game.

Thank you for your reply, hope to hear from you soon, and more power!

Truthfully yours,

Dear ,

Thank you so much for your cooperation on this matter.
Your help is very much appreciated from all our team members.

The game itself has blocked us from getting connected to their games.

So I would like to ask you for the final help.

Could you please send us ERL file from Gameguard folder?
By analysing that, we can find out right away.

Also are you residing in USA?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Best,

Jay

Dear Mr. Jay,

I Dont reside in the USA...I'm from the Philippines. About the ERL...I do not know what ERL is. And there is no GameGuard folder in the Game directory. But there is a "GameGuard.des" file in the game directory. I attached it to this email if this helps.

If you can teach me how to get the "ERL" I would gladly help more!

Thanks and More power

Dear ,

Thank you for the fast response.
Since there is no ERL file, can you zip the whole GameGuard folder and send it to us?

Best,

Jay

Dear Mr. Jay

Like I said earlier...There is no GameGuard folder in Silkroad game directory. I tried to search for *.erl file in the whole Silkroad folder and the search did not give any result. I also tried to follow the steps mentioned in your mail on "how to get ERL". and i didnt fnd any. Also made hidden files and folders visible. But GameGuard folder didnt show. The only file i found with gameguard is the one i attached on my email.

Dear Will Zenetra,

If there is no GameGuard folder in the game directory, it seems like they are not using our solution.
We will definitely contact Game publisher and find out the detailed information on this matter.

Once again, thank you very much for your concern and I will let you know of the result as soon as I find out.

Best,

Jay

It took them 3 years to find out that Joymax stopped using it back in 2006. Funny.

They sound as incompetent and clueless as JoyMax to me...

Why would they ask you to send them files lol? Surely such a company would know what they provide or at least download the client to check...

Do you ALL blieve this? I do not blieve that GG didn't know that. I am almost sure that there is a secret deal between JM and GG.

I also blieve that even if GG was really implemented to SRO it would not make any difference about bots. Cause lots of people says that GG is not good at that.

They can be sued for advertising the use of Gameguard and actually not doing it, pretty much a fraud.

Use someone's logo without having license to use can be considered fraud. Because GG is not up-to-date, can't protect from hacks, so JM made users thought that GG is the shit, therefore make GG lose its reputation.

This statement is enough proof that JM is paying GG for its solution on SRO.
Which means, JM is entitled to put the logo of GG in SRO.
Use it or not, its their choice.
JM don't answer to GG, GG answer to JM.

They probably do have a license for it. Then since they do have that license, they can choose to enable or disable it as they please.

Uhm, if they bought the license but don't use it is kinda weird. Greedy like JM won't let the money down the drain for nothing.

Even if the got the licence to the logo its still fraud, they are cheating customers into thinking they are safe because gameguard works in game and it doesnt

FRAUD

With as much as they make from idiots still buying silk, I'm sure it's not even an afterthought to them.

They don't say anywhere that GameGuard will work in game. They splash the logo, allowing you to see that it's there. Not necessarily that it's working.

lol it would be funny to see jm get taken to court over using a logo
and also GG sucks.. it is not that hard to get past.. pb would be better, and yes i know there is ways around that but they are a lot quicker and do bans.

By displaying the GameGuard logo, they are stating they are USING the GameGuard client itself. By displaying the logo and not actually including the GameGuard is fraudulent use of products. It's like buying a computer with AVG Anti-Virus but it only displays the logo for AVG, without actually having the real thing implemented making it seem as though AVG's product is a piece of shit.

lmfao, hope they get sued for using a company's product and name without actually purchasing rights to it, or continuing to pay a fee for the use of it.
