Well I know a lot of people are going to be pissed at me for putting this on here.
But as you all know of Rev6, player search and server lookup and update information, but we as well know that they have a bot named "AgBot" and no I'm not a botter but I'm not stupid. I think Rev6 should be considered a botting site and any mention of it should be a warning and so on. Because the more people talk about Rev6 the more people from SRF will go there, they'll find the bot, maybe then bot, then they'll maybe, just maybe, donate to them, then feeding the bots in SRO, so why do we continue to allow Rev6 to flourish in our forums when they have a bot made, that a lot of people use. Can we disallow talk of Rev6? Of course I'm open to opposing debates on this so go ahead and fire ^_^

So you rather have a team (if you can call it that) full of dumb monkeys than people?

What I mean is.. If you think people will start botting just because they know about a bot then everyone will turn into it since people talk about ingame as well.

This whole "war" against bots is idiotic, you are fighting a war you cant win.

but if we disallow talk about rev6, u know one person may never find out, then never bot, then never tell his friend, and never donate.

and you know, SRO was fun without rev6 because we learned the hardway on what to do, Rev6 is almost like a cheating device (kind of) for FW and CTF and PVP even!

Srry, but this just made me lol...

You don't really think avoiding rev6 is gonna reduce someone's exposure to bots. They get saturated with bots when they first log in. If you don't wanna talk about rev6, might as well just ban the word Bot from being used on this forum if you're that scared.

They do give a disadvantage by showing ur stuff and whatnot, but I don't really care. People always ask me to show my gear, i just say no and they go rev6 it. They say OMG +7 no wonder u win, i'll just say sure whatever. It totally has nothing to do with the fact that you never hit me. If they wanna find an excuse, they'll find one.

The only really unfair adv rev6 gave was by posting job names and showing unique estimates. It's not really more exposure when you get blasted non-stop by spambots in town.

well back then bots used to be pay as u go kind of thing, and then people tried to make some free bots but failed, then agbot came along and from what I hear it is doing good and I also hear there is pay service for it too. The fact of it is, wwww.p****level.com would be banned from this forum BUT Rev6 who gives this service for free opening it to everyone is allowed. doesn't make sense?

Pffft. Face it... the whole "war on bots" is pathetic to begin with. Adding Rev6 to the "black list" is just as pathetic. Sorry, but I completely disagree with original post. Period.

but in the long run, as my lv 93 char doesnt wanna face a guy who join SRO yesterday, found out SRF today, read a post on how cool rev6 is, then talk to people on SRO about rev6, and someone could tell him about the Agbot, and the couple months later I'd hate to see him lv 100 (he didnt play much on his own, just botted) he found some sun items when he was asleep, and then have him come up to me, beat me in a FW or a PVP cuz he was a damn bot cuz he read about rev6 on SRF (THIS IS JUST A SCENARIO) I wouldn't mind if he beat me because he earned that character but it burns me when I know they didn't deserve it! would you?

Rev6 contains bot but it doesn't promote bot, as you see there is no link that lead to any bot download.
If a folder which is hidden for public contains a bad content, there is no reason to forbid the root that contain folder. Just consider it a different site.
Like a hosting service own many sites:
/webhost/rev6/...
/webhost/silkroadforums/...

but Rev6 doesnt just HOST the bot, they are creators, the promoters, and SRO killers. I'd understand if it was like www.Cinsbot.rev6.com but its not, its just like www.rev6.com/forums, its not a host to a site, its a category of the site

Yes, they are the creator. But rev6 doesn't contain any link to any bot download. So the only way a newbie who could find a link to their bot is
- through google
- through friends
- through other hack site

conclusion: you can only indirectly find the link to the agbot. So consider it a different site.
If you want to stop a newbie from reaching a bot, either stop him to interact with bot friends or using the word bot in the forum. Sro is my first mmorpg. Before, i never knew what is a bot, i thought they are players but they just don't want to talk. And thx to srf which is the first place i saw the word "bot", and then i added into my memory dictionary informations about them.

yah I know they don't contain a link to it, but even clicking and going to rev6 is somehow supporting their pursuit to ruin silkroad, and do u really wanna help a bot program, do you? cuz if you do u might as well buy gold from a site which includes bots ^_^ just saying

U can't find a single link on the homepage & the forum to their bot or any other bot.
Maybe u want to ban google too from this forum? I'm sure u can find a bot there too.

Oh! Don't forget to block http://www.silkroadforums.com people might post here things about bots, so to make sure noone knows about bots it's better to shutdown the internet

I don't see why visiting a site just to check the server capacity consider support the bot development thingy, as if if no one visit the site, they wouldn't create the bot...
If you try to find a way to blame the owner, there are always owners:
rev6 owns agbot
web host owns rev6 site
the satellite owns a web host
a person or a group of person own the satellite
...
then you'll find out the owner of everything is God

would u still wanna talk to cin even though cin has these really cool tools on cin's site, but the site has no direct link. Cin though is still contributing to the bots but there is NO LINK ON THE HOMEPAGE BUT CIN STILL MADE IT, still wanna be friends with Cin? (THIS IS A SCENARIO, NO TRUE)
