A friend of mine who used to play SRO a lot told me that SRO2 is set to be released in 2011. (He's writes articles about video gaming as a profession) My question to the veterans of this game and community is why bother continue to play this version of SRO only to abandon your char as the release date draws near.
I know 2011 is not around the corner.... but seeing how badly SRO is being managed why not jump ship and save time and avoid frustration and see if Joymax will learn from their mistake and make SRO2 much better? Not saying you all should quit SRO (Thats your choice), just saying why not wait for the better (hopefully) version.

With Joymax you cannot be sure, I'm sure the releasing of SRO2 will be delayed, and it will come out in 2012.

TBH, only reason I still play iSRO is because I still haven't find anything else to do. Yes, SRO2 is coming out. For me, when that happens I will just switch to SRO2 and dump SRO1. Its time wasted yes, but it is something you do to pass your time... Won't stop just because 2 is coming out. Because if I do, I will have nothing to do...
2nd Note, if you want to know if iSRO is worth it. Answer is pretty obvious... No.. Its not worth it. Any Bot with clientless capability is guilty. Gold company is guilty. JM is guilty.

This whole wait and see attitude would be one thing if joymax tried period. Making valiant yet futile attempts to combat the menace is something joymax does not even think of in passing. Honestly the game is such a hell hole to many people anything touched by joymax will automatically be avoided. Conversely there is no other game you can bot quite as freely or as much in as in SRO. SRO2 will target the audience of the original SRO. Namely botters. It will not be any better. I can assure you.

Cause SRO is so damn awesome! /care if they close SRO in 2011... it's 2009 now, like I care if they delete it in 2 years.

From a business standpoint of view I think this:
Silkroad 2 should be an expansion. If joymax doesn't do this people from Silkroad 1 will Flock to Silkroad 2.(taking revenue from Silkroad 1)
Silkroad 2 should be integrated as a huge expansion to Silkroad 1,both the costumer and Joymax wins this way.People will start over with new chars(islam maybe?) just like they did with euro and Joymax gets another round of people to trow money at premiums/gt/pets/etc.
My perspective may be wrong,so enlighten me if you have a better one
Yes I quoted myself .This is what I think chances are joymax will do.This makes it worth it to continue playing albeit re-roll islam like people re-rolled into euro.

The reason why I'm saying we could wait for SRO2 is becuz there is the possibility that JM truly doesn't have the resources to properly manage this game. And seeing all the criticism they are getting plus the fact that there will be stiffer competition from other up comming games like Blade and Soul, Aion and Mabinogi Heros etc, JM will be forced to better manage SRO2.
For those of you who claim that playing SRO1 is just something to do to pass the time and that their isn't anything else you're not searching hard enough. There is always something better to do than playing SRO with its current state. Even if you have to get up from behind your PC and chase girls (for a change).
Just look how impressive the graphics and the fighting is from the games in this video list..starting at #5. These games are on the horizon. JM better watch out.
Code: Select all

I always wanted an MMO, where you can be in HUGE battles. No.. not only player battle. Something like 100vs100 monsters against each other, and players run around and fight in the chaos like heros
(that is what I was expected from World of Warcraft. But then... AV is still small for me. )

Pretty cool; yes, but fancy graphics do not hook you up , or maybe they do, but only for week or two .

Considering how old this version of sro is compared to other games SRO has awesome graphics. I think they will be easily able to make a good looking game.

Until JM comes out and says SRO2 will be realeased or is under development im perfectly content staying in SRO 1 or w/e u wanna call it lol. And i think that you will be able to import your chars from sro1 to sro2 (probably for a small fee lol)
so until then nope not quitting.

This thread is lol. If you honestly have to ask for reasons why you should continue to play, then you should obviously not be playing.
Damn, logic wins.

The game is 2 years away and we don't know what it holds for us. It could be P2P, it could just be a graphics update or it could include Islam and rearrange the map. Why continue? Because I will be gone by 110 cap, never mind SRO 2.

I hope to god its pay to play. Subscription based. That would get rid of a lot of the undesirables. Would make loggin on a breeze as well.

Its like saying, Why buy a new cellphone today when u know within a few month there will be a better version. Why buy a 2009 car when u know in 2010 there will be a better car
we all live in the moment, why wait for tomorrow when u can enjoy something today.

I don't think SRO2 will be a real NEW GAME. I think it will be more like a big big update of the old silkroad. For me it will be more like new graphic, new animations, new character design, new sound etc..

I doubt it. All the same problems would exist. At first they will care about bots, to slowly not caring at all. Everything will end up exactly the same way it is right now. The only difference this time would be that there will be many player bots from day 1.
