Question for all those "legits" out there *Poll added*

So i'm curious, why are you all still legit? Why are you guys still trying to play the game cleanly when it's obvious that even those running the game doesn't give half a rat's ass and has no intention of ever changing for the better?
Secondly, why are some people here so anal? No offense to anyone in particular, I'm just bored and was wondering why some ppl get all giddy and pounce at the first possible sign of a botter? My guess is that you must feel helpless seeing everyone else around you in the game bot and having an easy-ass time. You see no help from the admins and come here to try and exert some authoritative power.
My only reason for being legit is cuz I just so happen to enjoy grinding with friends and I don't feel like risking my main getting banned, no matter how low nooby lvl he is. Memories > pwning everyone on my server.
So I'd like to hear your reasons for staying legit after all this time. Share plx. (i'm also quite aware that not many in this forums don't play anymore, but why did you stay legit until you quit)

because cheating to achieve something really isn't achieving anything...

just like cheating in school, sure you get good grades and a good job then you can't actually do the job because you don't know anything. Same premise.
Reason I quit sro was simply because there was no reason to play anymore. I did everything I could have hoped to at 90 cap, why do it again ;P

i like grinding and playing with friends.
i'd rather play in a party of friends fighting lvl5 monsters than bot.

now that you spent money on being lazy, you get to quit (cause theres nothing else to to do but be a dick on the server T.T)

Cheaters are losers, that's why. Cheat in a game and you're likely to cheat in real life.

honor and pride, maybe. the awesom feeling of say "pft, go back to botting" after a pvp.. idk.
be legit and keep playin on olympus is gettin harder everyday, in the last 4 years.

Seriously though, when I first learned about botting I thought it was really lame. Ruining other people's gaming experience just so I can be somewhat relevant is something that doesn't appeal to me at all.

I like this thread...
There is no reason to be legit in this game. Yah playing with friends is nice and all but how fun is it to go try and pvp and not stand a chance against anyone? Dont get me wrong being legit and all is great but no one really wins in the end. Botters pay money to have the game play for them so they can go and enjoy their lives and legits spend hours trying to lvl and where do they get? Not too far actually. And all of you venus people that are gonna say "Look at ____ and see there lvl xx and legit" yah yah thats nice but how much extra money did they spend to get there compared to people who bot? Or how much time did it take out of their lives to get there legitly just to have no one in game care?
So bring on the "Botter banz him!" people blah blah...I just find it funny how you guys fight over this Game(That means not real life

I really never saw the reason to cheat in a video game; it's just a game. If you need to cheat at something that's SUPPOSE to bring you entertainment, then I'd have to question what entertainment you're getting out of it if you feel the need to cheat at it (I'm guessing towards addiction or something along those lines). You play the game to play the game. There's want, but no real need to be high level, or have a ton of characters. You play to have fun on what little time you can spend playing it. I never understood the reasoning behind the "I don't have enough time to play so I bot" excuse; Play when you can/want to. It's as simple as that.

you probably cant explain it any better cause theres nothing father to explain. how could anyone put cheating in school, something that affects their future, for the rest of their life, over cheating on some game that has no actual meaning 25 years from now. people are lying to themselves when they believe cheating on a game > cheating on tests or stealing a car.

Because botting is for pathetic assholes. Simple as that. If you can't play a game that's intended for fun, then you have some issues you need to work out. Play or quit, but if you suck so much you have to cheat...well you'll always suck and never be any good. Same goes for every game, not just sro. Video games, sports, work, whatever.
Also, community. My union is kickass.
However, I totally cheat in math all the time. But that is because I DO suck at it, and I'll openly admit it.

I think what he was talking about was a behavior type. If you lack the self control to not cheat then you'll run into problems later on down the road. Temptations are everywhere, you've gotta have self control to avoid them.
Cheating is easy. Anyone can do it, but I'd rather go through life knowing I did the best I could do without cheating.
