So here's the thing.... Me and my BF decided to run some events for our guild, so we could have more fun like a team and stuff like this.
We will make the events every Saturday (probably) and we will give some awards. Atm we have ideas like playing hide and seek, and spliting the guild in 2 to make a guild war.
But we need more ideas for the events and for the prizes for the events.
So tell me if you have something fun in mind, i would appreciate it

Maybe some kind of matches, like e.g. where the quickest to kill X mobs or run from A to B gets some kind of prize.

Or combine the 2.

Edit: If you have the money, try to get your hands on pandora boxes / monster scrolls, they are a lot of fun + nice Exp for the lowbs. (I dunno if they ever existed on your server)

tell me what you got to organize event ?
gold?
event scrolls?
etc

The idea for the runs are pretty cool
As for the prizes, i still need to think what they will be, i have enough gold to afford it, but i have to think what will be cool as a prize

I think it would be a better idea if you asked your guild members what they would enjoy the most. Just say event will be Sturday at X hour and once all of them are there decide the event together.

I asked them too, but the thing is i need more ideas so i can make more different events. And as you know 100 heads think better than 20 That's why i posted the topic here.

Horse race (everyone on L20 horses) - have a scout on a L60 to oversee the racers, then set from point A to B or something like that. We used to do the Jangan GP

PvP - can be 1v1, 2v2, etc (although it would be pretty unfair to have 4x4 euro vs chin) - based on Level ranges, prizes for each tier.

Unique hunt - kinda boring but lots of time to goof if everyone's there together. Pvp while you wait.

Guild Trade run (could be tricky if don't have many higher lvls)

Marco Polo - wiz or rogue needed...turn invisible/stealth - pick a spot, then people have to try to stand exactly where you are. Closest wins a prize.

Cool prizes - cash is always nice, plvl, maybe some nice gear, scrolls, elixirs etc.

Box/event parties (whenever we have another event)

I had a pretty fun event before I quit. Buy some low lvl sos or whatever you can afford. If you have globals it will help.

Start out in each city or area. Hide. Whoever finds you first wins one of the sos. I made it so the SOS went up in degree as i went city to city. I did Constantinople, Amphitheater, Area around Hotan, DW, and JG. It didn't catch on until Constantinople, but when it did, I had like 20-40 PM's every min asking if I was found yet. By the time I left Const for Smk, I saw like 30 ppl running around Const, more than usual I believe.

The 7Shinobi/MoonShine union did a series of horse races few months ago... too bad most of them started botting/quitted...
Anyway, the guy who thought out the entire race set a fix route which the competitors should take on lv30 horses, and he followed us on a silk tiger/giant cockroach/whatever it was. The first 3 people to finish got prizes. The Donwhang one was the coolest (we started from the west gate), nearly everyone who went there stopped to see what was happening. We had like 40 competitors, but when the race started 200+ people were standing there.
Ah, good old times...

Tl;dr do a horse race.

The element material hunting is a pretty cool idea, i thought of that too. The thing is, i need something in which all can participate. Because we have like 20 people farming at ongs, so i may do this with really low lvl materials. We'll se about the other races and events

Hehe...one of the 90+ guys in our union does a "find me" deal (like the hide and seek). Usually it's somewhere under level 40, not too far from major towns. He doesn't go invisible though, just stands there. First person there gets the prize (there are times when we have had 4 people on horses descending on him, lol)

Then he gives out clues to his location in union chat. He gives a clue, waits 5 minutes, then gives another clue, waits, etc, and the first person to find him wins a prize. Elixirs, gold, drops he's gotten, etc.

Other things: fist PvP int vs int, str vs str, see who lasts longest. Yeah, that's a little "meh".

We thought about doing a picture contest deal too, but that only works if you have a website...it's a pain to type URL's into SRO.

In '07 we had some great events, I'd gladly show you how they were organized, but those topics are in the Private section of our community forum so instead of give you the link I drop some lines here.
One of the best event was our "Union Screenshot Contest". Every forum user could enter three screenshots, the union (& friends) made their election from the pictures plus the admins chose a special one. If I remember correctly the winner won 1M gold, 2nd, 3rd got gold as well and the special "choosen one" got a D1 SOS Armor as surcharge.

You can make the Screenshot Contest more interesting if you set up themes like "landscape", "job", "pvp" and so on.

After Lv.90 cap raise a friend had a great idea of organizing a "Mask Event" which would have been similar to the well known "Kokoru Race" but using Kokoru Mask would have been forbidden. Too bad we have never done that event due to inactivity and ignorance in Union. Although we still had a bit fun seeing each other testing which mob is the fastest, lunatic races between GS and N-Gate of Hotan were great!

These were the rules -

• Kokoru masks can not be used
• Buffs, scrolls are not allowed
• Those players who run out of time or simple cancel mask and reach the end point as character and not as a monster will be disqualified
• Every competitor must donate the race with the amount of gold s/he likes
• Donations will be shared between the 1st, 2nd and 3rd fastest players

There is a new-old idea in my head now, but I would like to keep it for my currently Union and make it public when I'm back to Oasis. Of course you can get to know it via PM.

Zephyrir what were the requirements for that uni screenshot contest of yours? I dunno.... I'm just not seeing what's so special about that "relaxing" screenshot for it to win first place unless other screenshots were of dudes "bowing down" to each other...

This fails if the Rogue/Wiz moves while invisible to make the other lose. (intentional)
Also if tehy pick a spot, it'd be more easy.

I still having this idea of game for everyone on the server plays it, if they want:

Hide somewhere.
Shout a Global saying: Find me blablabla and the first who gets me, have to make a trade with me (In the case there are 2 or more person who will find me at the same time). So the first who find me and opens the Trade windows, get a prize.

Well, if you don't have globals... Then guild chat maybe.

There were no requirements, every forum user was able to enter 3 screens. I do not know why "Relaxng" won but probably it has the necessary plus, else it would not have reached that position. It wasn't about to post the "best" picture but to entertain us. It was success.

Well, you said you have many guildies/union members/whatever farming at ongs. Why couldn't the prizes be some quality free ong taxi? Maybe, for the winner, a hour every day for a week, 2nd one hour every day for 3 days... (just random numbers)

Well that's an awesome idea... BUT.... the farmers at ongs are farmed by guildmates... and it's always free Every taxi for the guild is free, otherwise it would've been a cool prize...

maybe it is writter here already but in different way
what i have done in my server is that you need to buy low lvl sos weapon
then you need 1 assistant
go find some beautiful hidden place and assistant will make a stall with 1 gold that sos
then take a screenshot, where there is seen stall and background in it
then upload the picture somewhere
then you teleport into town and tell in All window that "Find hidden SOS" game will start in 15 minutes or so
when there is enough players near you then you will type the address to them and the goal is to reckognize the place only by that s/s and the first who finds the sos, must buy that for 1 gold and must show you the sos
then you give 1m to winner + free global or something you want
PS! I have done that by using X and Y coordinates, but that is useless because many uses programs that show the coordinates
So i hope that would be as fun to you as fun it was for me

3 weapon elixirs, maybe 500k, drops? STR and INT scrolls, moving speed scrolls, trigger scrolls are still useful...not sure. In our union this event is mainly for the lower than 40 chars to help them level and keep them interested in grinding/parties.

how about a race/lure game?

every one can play, high lvl or low lvls, just specify what mob to lure and come to u (wherever u are) and the first one to trade u is the winner (thus eliminating any umpires ^^).

and another one... but just in case u need to empty ur guild storage, just for fun.

heres how it goes, ur guild storage (with nothing on it).
place an item there that any any of the contenders make take. the twist is they have to go every guild storage in all maps to get it. u can make a combination of the items stored in all of the guild storage for the winner to get the prize.
