[Help Request] Save Silkroad Online

Hi players,

As an active player and member of the French Silkroad Online community, I'd like to ask you all guys for your help.
We all know that Silkroad online is infested by bots and players who don't give a damn about a legit and good game environment.
Recently connecting to the servers has become worse than ever due to new bot programms allowing players to connect plenty of characters easily on a single pc ...
And obviously Joymax doesn't do anything.
The point is, I like this game, and I'm pissed when I try to log on for 30 minutes before getting dc because of poor server stability.
Doing something is not easy, as we can't really convince everyone not to buy silks for a while or something like that to make Joymax understand.
But doing nothing and just complaining won't help either.
So I have a very basic idea, yet it IS something to do and that won't cost more than a few minutes to each of you. Just use the mail service to send to Joymax an e-mail explaining how bad the situation is. Since my point is not to waste your time I even wrote an example e-mail. You just have to copy-paste it and send it. Steps for using the Mail Service will be detailed.
The more e-mails sent, the better. This is not a big threat or anything for Joymax but at least it'd make them know.
As I said there is no point in complaining but doing nothing.
Please send as many e-mails as possible and spread the word, event with your alt acounts if you have. It won't take you long and it might be worth it.

And for people who think all this is worthless and that it won't change anything, keep being pessimistic but please don't come here and just flood to show you disagree.
This post is only aimed for people wanting to do something, I don't wanna debate on the utility to send those mails (else I wouldn't be here obviously) or why botting is bad.

I say it again, please consider taking 3 minutes to log on Silkroad website, copy-paste the example mail below and send it to the mail service.
If you could do this and answer this post saying you did so it'd be great, as it'd allow me to keep a track on how many mails have been sent yet.
I already sent mine, so please just do as I did.

How to use the Mail Service :
- You must have an account with a character level 20 or more.
- Go to the Silkroad Online official site : Silkroad Online
- Login.
- In the left menu, clic "Support" and then "Contact Support". You will be redirected to the Joymax Portal.
- In the bottom frame named "Recommended Reply", clic on "Type Content" to start writing the mail.
- Category : "General"
- Adress : "-" (or anything)
- Title : "Help Request : Save Silkroad Online"
- Server : choose your server
- Character : type your character name
- Content : copy-paste the example e-mail that you can find further in this post.
- Clic "Register" to send.

Message to be sent :
Hello Joymax,

The aim of this e-mail is simple : I like Silkroad Online but I don't like bots and illegal programs.
Recently it has become worse than ever to connect to the servers due to massive traffic and goldbot invasion.
Please do something about this issue. Ban the bots, prevent goldbots from logging on and destroying the game.
The issue is huge and serious. So please do something. Fast.

Thank you.

The message is short but clear. The aim is not to be long but rather to send as much mails as possible.

It really doesnt matter how many forums you post this on. JM really wont do anything. Botters are a main source of income for them.

Yay, let's spam their email box.
100 people * 10 mails/day = 1000 mails/day

It's good that you guys care for the game, but I think that this only will make them close the support email due all the mails.

It doesn't really matter as Joymax already do ban bots. I agree that they should do more but they are banning bots every week. Way more support than any other games provide. Please don't start flaming me for saying that :p but think about it. Do you know any other games which ban 2k-5k bots every week ?

I think the main problem is that the loyalty of most of the players is so extremely low that they don't mind botting :banghead:

Do you know others mmorpg with so much bots ?
5k bots banned each week is nothing. There are 37 servers with 3500 "players" online 24h/24. They just ban some spam bots and grind bots that don't buy silk.
But as you said, no one cares about botting and/or buying golds. Everyones does, so why shouldn't we ? First thing you see when you log on are spams in the all chat to buy gold and bots, and armies of "qsdghb" running in line. This is enough to new players to understand the situation.
I'm afraid there's nothing to be done. I'll wait & see what happens after a week of sending emails.

I think Silkroad needs to get new management....

Joymax is just slowly killing a game that has a lot of potential.

Indeed.
It wont work. When it comes down to it, its all about the money.
Spamming them will not get the message across. They don't read that. It is an automated message similar to everything else in this game.

You throw around a number like 5k and say it's nothing when you've barely broken 100 Emails sent.

I'm aware of that. At least it has proved that even players don't care.

They really don't. The ones who do, do something about it. Look at Venus. They didn't take the shit so they made a whole server pretty much a Utopia for themselves.

Spamming their inbox won't do anything but annoy them and make them want to get rid of the damn thing.

I've started playing sro since oct/nov 2005 and take it from me or any other old skool players who have started since then, joyjoy ain't gonna do nothin. It's been like this from the start...wayyyyyy back at 60 cap..nothing changed since then, nor will. I know it's kinda hard to put your weapon down and leave because you prolly spent alot of time farming/leveling your char...but move on to another game. Sorry to burst your bubble.

hmmm, we didn't have these at 60 cap cuz everything was so perfect lulz...
there was a time at 60 cap were bots were actually a minority, legits used to laugh at them, steal their shit and stuff :P good times

It was...very close, it prolly look worse now due to the rising number of players and more grounds/lands/mobs. But back at 60 it was all about the ishades, planars and yetis and they were packed but yea legits were still many but bots were way more. It was far from perfect but 60 CAP OWNED!

im with this , nobody is not even trying to change anything, and traffic is horrible lately,

Its really hard to connect now so its good that someones trying to change it.

Why is it that every person who doesnt like something about the game think that they are able to change it. Stop dreaming. Do you really think they are unaware of whats going on in the game? Why would they ban their main source of income? Its stupid. And anyway, im sure they have received about 1000 emails on how to change the game for the better. They will just ignore it like all the others. Case closed.

wasting your time but have fun

edit: if i was to ask to change anything in the game it would be how much you have to pay monthly for a pleasant gaming experience.

wow *claps* greats douchebag, you really pulled of a /thread there. Wow, I'm amazed at your great 2 second speech.

You know, people like you make this world a worse place. You may not realize it, but every SMALL thing you do in life can add up to a HUGE thing.

I mean if there was a beggar in the street, and he asked for only 5 pennies, I bet you would just think, what the hell is 5 pennies gonna do to him and not give it. But if every guy passing would give him 5 pennies, him sitting in a busy city corner, he would make 10 dollars a day. that's enough to eat and live and save a bit for the future.

Anyways, I see how this forum fails. Not cause of the OW EM GEE NO YELLOW BOX, or OMG ZOOMHACK! but because of how people fail to see how small things can add up to make huge things.

Calm down there public crusader.

The error in your situation there is that we don't know the history of that beggar. With Joymax, we know they have a history for being lazy. For not listening to the majority of it's players. That is why he can safely say what he said.

I was the one that was supposed to start this thred but I didn't think of starting in another section and tried instead of increasing my post number so I could start it here... Anyway.

I'm pretty disapointed that so much people just say "it's useless, do nothing". I completely agree with this :
ofy1993 wrote:You know, people like you make this world a worse place. You may not realize it, but every SMALL thing you do in life can add up to a HUGE thing.

and that's enough for me to give a try. If more people are (were ??) motivated we might be able to made greater things.

Please be concerned with all this.
