Hello folks, i played silkroad for years, and taken a long break due my computer breaking and work. But i am returning but i decided to be a non silk buyer, and hardly play for hours. Personally i think silk is a waste of money. I mean it costs like 20 pounds to easily log on, personally i don §t think its worth 20 pounds for a gold ticket, or any money, forget the bonus stats its not worth. Secondly, buying gold is bad, and waste of money and YOU ARE JOINING SIDES WITH GOLDS BOt

BUYING GAMe = GOLD BOTS , Ruining the game. (yes i know i have done it once, but belive me, you end up regretting, )

Fact = the money you used to buy gold or preniums you can buy a new game console, or even a car,. No jokes,

The only that i can understand with silk, is avartars for looks. But prenium is a waste, even the 5% luck(a load of rubbish) and extra stats. Okay silver prenium too, but only if you into silkroad, which i am not lol.

Ps. Alps is a bot zone now. Its like the other old servers now. No one talks, and everyone is turk. Its a joke, you can §t even sell anything lol.
althought i made 1mil on my 3 account from this stupid bot, who drop 9 str tabs and gold, lol.

You're right, it almost seems a waste if you look at it that way.

But yeah, some people are just "too" into it. Can't blame them or tell them what to do with their money though, it's theirs to spend. Then again, MMOs as a hobby, if you're not a gold buyer, is actually cheaper than most hobbies.

yep. Okay i can understand buying silk for avatar clothes cause they look cool. But premium personally its a waste. Buying gold is the worst offence you can do, if people stop buying gold, then the gold bots will lose interest and leave silk road, crazy as it sounds but its logically.

People stop buying gold = No profit, so companies leave and find other means.

So people buying gold in silkraod are in the same league as bots.

Yes, i buy silk sometimes. But only from what i earn online. I really don't want to spend my real life money on it :)

I bought about 1000 silk all in all i guess :D

And i played for more than 3 years so yeah... ain't buying that much.

Levy from Alps? You're from England? Always thought you were french...

Anyway, its £10 for silver premium and that isnt much compared to hours sat trying when you could be doing something worth while.

Yes i buy silk, no i dont buy gold, but my brother did when he played and he did give me some of it. If that makes me non-legit, so be it. It was a gift, i dont care where it came from.

Hmm I dont think you understand how this works. If no one buys silk, there wont be a sro. And as Lempi says, would you rather spend an hour a day trying to log into the server, or just part with £10 of your cash?

I'll tell u what happened to me just yeasthirday. A Friend called me and told me a friend of him is buyng old coins for his collection. For one kind of coins he was willing to pay us up to 250 euro. I didn't have one like the one he wanted, but he bought 3 coins from me for 50 euro total. Why am telling this? Because this guy has his hoppy and spends money on it. I, personally, can't understand what can you like so much about the coins. But he finds something in it.
And then i thought i spend 20-30$ about my hoppy. Compared to all other hobbies it's a pretty cheap one. And it saves me time and nerves trying to login. So i will buy premiums eerytime i can, and whatever else from the item mall i can afford and i need.
That's my point of view about the spending money on games :)

Yeah but so far i wasted like uhm.. less than 200$ and i already have all consoles XD (unless PS3)
And 200$ is not enough for a new lap =(

Kami wrote:The only that i can understand with silk, is avartars for looks

You're joking right? If you mean for looks, it's really useless. But only for blues, i think thats good, but meh i still think Avatar are the useless thing to buy on the item mall.

Kami wrote:But i am returning but i decided to be a non silk buyer, and hardly play for hours

No Joke? Then you got my respect, i only fairly can play 1 hour without Premium. or maybe two, just to chit-chat with my friends on SRO. (While grinding too..)

I Haven't ever bought silk, but I think of premium sometimes (actually nearly all the time while im logginig in) and really its not that much to pay 11.50€ (Cheapest Premium) per month to log on with first try. But 11.50€ x 12 (year) = 138€, thats quite alot isn't it? Well I actualy have nothing against silk and silkbuyers, but against of golbuying I have a lot of things:

1st: Why to Buy gold when you can farm it by yourself? I just farmed 1 mil and 300k with my 25 Lvl Char on 2 hours (includin all items I found and elixirs) so Its not good idea to buy gold and when people stop buying gold, goldbots have no work anymore and the quit, Better for us.

2nd:
Goldbots fill every server and killstealing is very annoying, death to all goldbots!

3rd: Gold costs real money so if you are buying silk this probably means you are goign to have big credit card bill after buying both?

Since when was playing video games considered a hobby? I can understand collecting figurines, editions, or shwags as a hobby, but just straight up playing it?

For me it's a hobby. For you maybe not. It's all a point of view.
Like the guy who asked if his friend is a botter because he uses a program to sort his storage.
All depends on your personal oppinion :)

If it gets too relative, anything can be a hobby. With that, then there's not such thing as a hobby. There has to be a line. Hobby's used to be personal and had some form of intimate value. I don't know how you can get that from a game like this.

Ah well, to each his own?

hob⋅by
1   /ˈhɒbi/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [hob-ee] Show IPA
–noun, plural -bies.
1. an activity or interest pursued for pleasure or relaxation and not as a main occupation: Her hobbies include stamp-collecting and woodcarving.

AS long as Silkroad brings pleasure or relaxation to someone, then it can be considered a hobby. In theory, yes, anything could possibly be a hobby.

I did check the dictionary before ranting out. The parameters are too broad. I'll be eating and sleeping in a couple of hours - both for pleasure and relaxation, but I wouldn't call those a hobby.

I personally wouldn't call playing video games a hobby. I see it more of a pastime.

I would have to agree. To each his own I suppose?

If JM charged 10 cents for 4 week prem it would still not be worth it as joymax would still be getting paid. Hell personally if JM gave me free prem and paid me to play I still doubt it would be worth it.

But if you don't eat you will die, same with sleep eventually. You do those to live, not for pleasure or relaxation (although those can be side effects).

Hey I play on Alps.... kinda... ok i've only logged in like 3 times in the past 6 months, but still. People talk.... kinda... so they talk shit and than a giant war breaks out, but all in good fun no?

Yeah it pretty much sucks. I only log on to waste the rest of my gold with pointless random pvps and what nots. If you bored enough, hit me up on Alps and we can do random stuff. Every time i log on i try to have some kinda random event or just run around and have fun remembering old times.

name's Shinken.
