Vanilla Visa won't work through Paypal. You need to make a Paypal account and load the Vanilla Visa card on there as a Credit Card. That's what I did forever ago, I don't know if it still works.

I've been using Vanilla Gift Cards for quite awhile now and rarely had a problem like that. But what I have noticed throughout me buying dozens on top of dozens of the gift cards was the security # did not match the card #. This happened to me a few times actually. So what I did was find the one I didn't go through and used the the Security # on that. Most of them didn't go through but there was one that did.
Also make sure when you put the 4315 look at what the Card holder says. On some occasions there was a glitch where it would show Discovery or Amex rather than Visa.

go to the vanilla visa website and there is a section there where you register your card. Do this about 30 times (no joke) and it should work after that. Thats how i used to get it to work. In the future though i would suggest opening up a cheap checking account and hooking it up to your paypal.
