Hello there I am one of the people trying to make another legit server. At the moment its not looking so good. We have lost some if not most of our members to Venus. We were doing fine till most of them left sadly i don't think we have enough members (with all legit guilds combined) to take Jangan fortress or Bandit fortress. You ask why am I posting here? I am posting here because we need you people of SRF to help us out on our great quest to bring yet another sever to legit hands. Some might say just go to Venus but that server is already full of legits the server is getting full. Soon they will have an overflow of people if they don't get another server. This is why I ask SRF to help us out we need members. Currently we are working hard to get a union running full of legit people we had it going till the union leader left back to venus. I hope you guys can help us we could really use some help from you guys. We even have a forum running for our legit guilds
http://fateoflegits.ipbfree.com. Thanks in advance for those who help us.

It would be great to see people from SRF pulling together to give us a hand in our endeavour. Venus has been successful but we need not stop there. The more servers we can get the better, obviously. This server is just three weeks old and already we are having problems keeping people. If there is anyone from Hera or Gaia who want to help then by all means come on over to Apollo and pm Serquet, Amarisa or 10kBiltzMen ingame or leave one of us a msg. Thanks in advance for any support we can get.

Sorry but if you want a successful legit server.. Apollo isn't the one. Glamours union are far too strong for legits to try and start / beat them now.

That's really rich coming from someone on Venus. I've heard stories about the attitudes of the "
Legit" players on Venus, and they ain't good ones. And, based on the posts, and the replies to posts, that I've read in the 2 years I've been freqenting this forum, I tend to believe those stories. As far as getting past Glamours, what do you expect us to do in three weeks. They are a botting guild and therefore are going to level way faster then we do. I'm pretty sure Venus wasn't "conquered" in three weeks, it took time, and lots of it, with a lot of really dedicated players that were determined to succeed. Congratz on winning the battle, but why is it that whenever someone else tries to get another server they are shot down by the very people who "
claim" to want to make changes to SRO. That astounds and bewilders me. Toasty...why can't Apollo be the next Legit server? Could it be because, you guys from Venus really don't want anyone else to succeed so that you guys can "BOAST" about how you were the ONLY ones who could do it? That statement is probably the closest thing to the real truth IMO.
I also notice that you have 1k+ posts on this forum, Toasty, which brings up another subject. There seems to be some kind of "GOD" mentality that ties directly to the amount of posts a member has. IMO it doesn't matter one bit how many posts someone has or doesn't have. Having 7k+ posts doesn't make someone better than someone else. All it really says is, that person needs to get a real life and find something else to do with his/her time. Others on this forum may fall into that "GOD" trap, but I assure you, I will not. I'm to damned old to let some twenty something, noob in life, try to tell me that he/she is better than I am because they have mega posts, on a simple forum, about a "GAME". *pfffft wow ur rly smthn thr bra scuse meh sir meh dnt ntce ur post c_nt*. Hardly anyone brags about their post count. If I wanted to I could but I don't because like you said, it doesn't matter.

Why does no one else think another server will become like Venus? Because when Venus was first created, a good group of people whom all knew each other over time and had played together for a while were the ones making the stand there. They didn't recruit people from the forum like you all did, that won't work. You'll end up with a bunch of weekend warriors who log in, grind to 20, realize it's hard, and quit. Which is exactly what happened. Venus was not conquered in three weeks and if I'm correct, they are still fighting bots there daily. Obviously it's a bit easier now that they have control, but they are still fighting. Taking the fortress was the first step to making Venus what it is today. IMO at least. If I'm correct again, Venus legits were below the botters in level when fortress came around, but teamwork and good euro partying is > mindless bots trying to party.
I loled how you attack his post count like he ever used that as a basis for an argument. Then you pulled the age card. And wtf....who calls someone a "noob at life" and then expects to be taken seriously? Just saying. Oh, and if you want to pull the age card on me too, I'm 19.

I am trying my hardest to make it work and dont worry I already knew how hard it was gana be. It was doing fine till alot of our members went back to Venus. I dont want to move back to venus with my tail between my legs i will go till there is no hope. but it seems it wont be very long sadly I am thinking of restarting my bard on Venus. I'd stay on Venus. There's already a large legit community there and we're always needing legits to join/come back to help us continue the fight we've started there.

Don't get me wrong, I admire you for at least trying on Apollo. Sometimes though, you need to accept that something may not go the way you planned, take the loss, and move on. Don't consider it going back with your tail between your legs. Hold your head high, proud. Even though it didn't work out, you had the initiative to try what others never would have.
Obviously you didn't have the manpower that Venus had when they started. Understandable. My advice to you would be to continue on Venus. Community there, though a few assholes are here on SRF, is actually really good. I did a run there for a bit and within 5 minutes of logging in, I was in a guild, talking to people, and parties were being made. I say make the better choice here: let the botters take over Apollo, and head on back over to Venus. You have my full respect at least for trying and even admitting a loss. Kudos.

Ok, let me start by saying that maybe I let my emotions override common sense in my post. I do have a tendency to do that. Nothing I said was meant to be directed at any
specific member here. I was mearly trying to point out that I
have seen instances where a poster was slammed for his/her low post count, and I just wanted to make clear that I wouldn't put up with that kind of flaming directed at me. I'm sorry if I offended anyone with that, as that wasn't my intention.

I really wasn't singling out Toasty there, I just used his post count as an opening for the rest of that statement. And also, Thanks a lot for the words of encouragement.

.curve wrote:You'll end up with a bunch of weekend warriors who log in, grind to 20, realize it's hard, and quit. Which is exactly what happened.
Yes, that is exactly what happened. But therein lies the problem, I know that some of those people were Venus players that migrated to Apollo...Why? If they came over to try and take the server from the start, why did they quit? IMO, if they
really wanted to do it, then they would have stayed and made a stand. Instead they just left, without notice, leaving the rest of us to wonder what was going on. We didn't have a clue as to what their intentions were. Did they quit? Did they have R/L obligations that wouldn't allow them to be ingame for a certain period of time? We could only guess.
.curve wrote:I loled how you attack his post count like he ever used that as a basis for an argument.
I explained the post count thing above, at the start of this post.
.curve wrote:Then you pulled the age card.
As far as the "age card" goes, I should have elaborated more about that. I'm not trying to say that younger people aren't intelligent, because you are. IMO age has nothing to do with intelligence but it has everything to do with wisdom, and wise people wouldn't consider post count as a benchmark of intelligence.
.curve wrote:And wtf....who calls someone a "noob at life" and then expects to be taken seriously?
"Noob in life"- That may have been taken out of context. The point I was trying to make there was, if someone were to flame me for my low post count "I" would consider him to be a noob in life for even thinking that post count mattered. It wasn't directed at a specific age group. Sorry for the confusion there.

I hope that I was able to clear things up and to save face around here. As I stated earlier, I tend to let my emotions dictate my thoughts. A trait that I continually have to keep in check. Again, I apologize to anyone I may have offended.

I don't know who went to Apollo with you from Venus, but my guess was that they either didn't want to give up their chars in Venus, or they didn't want to actually put the effort into making another server better, and instead chose to stay with a server that's already pretty well off. Which you can't really blame them for.
IMO, if another server wants to become a Venus, they need a good group of friends. Friends who have known each other for a while, played together, and who they know they can count on. This group will lead the initial battle against the bots on that server. Once that is accomplished, the popularity of the server will go up, and you'll get more dedicated legits joining and staying there, thus making another Venus.
As for Apollo, I know it sucks, but you might have to suck it up here and take a loss. Learn from it and try on another server. Or head on over to Venus.

What he said.
Making a legit server is a lot harder than people realise.. simply finding a lot of people to play wont do it. Though that isnt to say that the server cant be fun. Sure Venus can be fun, but it isnt anywhere near as perfect as people make it sound. I can never understand the big obsession with the 'legit haven'. (no flames intended)

To be honest i dont even know what to do anymore do i stay or do i go? even the traffic is worse on apollo maybe it is a loosing fight but I dont know. /babaling
Kudos.
Its in my blood i always fight to the end and never give up. Its a pride thing i guess i don't remember one time I gave up before the end. But with your kind words makes it easier to accept defeat. There was nothing i could do or anyone it was going to go down anyways I (and other members of the guild that were still with me) just prevented it from happing so fast
Like I've said...you have my full respect for actually making an attempt at it. Most people bitch about their servers, but won't take the initiative to actually do something about it. You at least tried. Props for that.

My point was. It wouldn't last long. Which it didn't. Everyone flamed me when I said it won't work out. Oh what-do-ya-know, it didn't.
Snoopy you're mean and you're breaking my heart here. At least they tried.

I know. I'm an asshole

Props to them for trying. Though I knew it wasn't going to work out. I don't play Silkroad anymore so it doesn't bother me really.

Why Apollo? Why not Venus? Granted, Venus players have a high # of assholes as i have read throughout this forum but there are some nice players/guilds there

SD/BH ^^.
Anyways, im just saying... why try for another legit server... why not help the legits out in venus? The bots outnumber the legits in Venus still.
My 2 cents-
PS: I play Eos with a small guild of just friends who used to play the 70 cap back in tibet legitimately

. We play to have fun ^^ so dont comment on my Eos status lolz

i'm not an asshole and i'm on venus, i'm the anti prick, i like to piss off/annoy people who are pricks (if i choose to not like you there is probably a reason)
but i won't condem your efforts, but pheonix kinda turned lame after every one left, we were owning the bots left and right and keeping up lvl wise, then every one left while we we were still on top (they claimed it was useless..., more or less they just weren't up for the fight). Venus got lucky with a large number of people wanting a legit community at the same time and a group of committed people to start a union. The hardest part of building any type of community is finding people who will be able to commit/ stay committed to it.
I really hope apollo can turn out better, i could stayed and mass recruited and gotten it working enough to have a decent legit union but i honestly dind't have the time to invest purely to recruiting/ enforcing rules/ motivating/ partying and teaching them how to party ext... and no one else in the union was willing to put their fair share of time and help do the same.
edit
not to mention all the selfish noobs who were like "this union is too quiet" (after only a day), or "I'm going to go make my own legit union" (then 1 week later i find their members botting, or they join a bot union). the old saying holds quite true, "good help is so hard to find"

Damn, this is too bad :/
Old returning player here. Missed silkroad and decided to start playing again. I chose Apollo because it was new, and I was kinda hoping that other players would be jumping on the chance to make another legit server. Won't be switching anymore as I'm playing with a friend who's new to the game and would hate to have to switch and retart his character now that he's getting into it.
