Wrong.

REV6 server stats is run off a special program on a player. When server dc's all server info on REV6 is incorrect.

Not really. Rev6 "ask" login servers to get the open/closed/x players logged in status.
The part with a player running a "special" program is for the player stats.

wrong again.
This still requires an account in the server to get packet information. To get the info it needs to login, but dosen't need to load a character in town like it does on the ladder bot. What the guy above me posts justifies that slightly, the server capacity isn't correct when in check :P

Just for the info. The "special" program is nothing else but the bot they have. Without the bot rev6 would NOT work (except for the server list).

you do not need an account to retrieve serverstats.
just finish the handshake process and then you can request serverstats (serverid, servername, curnumber, maxnumber).
the servercapacitity IS correct if you can trust JM. if you cant trust JM you should stop using rev6 as loginhelp.

rev6 is build on it's bot (agbot - just search in google for rev6.com) which makes the rev6-team the second most hypcoritical peaple around SRO (denying bot discussions in their forums and trying to keep them "legit" while having hostet botfiles and bot-collected data on the same server)... first place is nightbloom and fly!

Stop failing all of you with technical knowledge.

Yes you only need to handshake to get the info, but you need an account to complete the handshake -.- Seriously noobs, look, test it yourself, go try telnet a sro server without account details.

This isn't even a thread about how rev6 works.

Also, yes, the ladderbot is built into rev6/agbot or whatever their bot is called now.

without needing to know anything of packets:
do you see serverstats in the client BEFORE you enter your logindata (easy, populated, crowded)?
yes!
-> you dont need an account to retrieve this data!

serverstats on login screen = Data submitted from server to the client. It does not show exact figures. This is where the account is needed -___________________________-

Srsly, packet sniff the sro_client yourself if you don't beleive me, so stfu and get out. You make yourself seem more ill-informed each post you make.

I think it does calculate who is in the server. Because it dropped to 6 - 4 - 0 and then 5 minutes later the servers opened. Wouldn't suprise me if it was testing like usual.
