Silkroad Appreciation

I tried playing so many other MMO's this week and weekend before I realized...

None of them will ever compete or come close to silkroad online.

Is it just me, or does this game.. what you can do.. it's areas.. it's skills, characters, it's "system", the towns, the history, the weapons, armors, monsters, mounts, guilds, people..

I honest to god love this game, it's my online home, as sad as that sounds to some people.

I hate Joymax so much.. for what they're doing to this game. It has so much unbelievable potential, but the botting and gold botting simply is unchecked.

While trying out AoC, WoW, Runes of Magic, Ether, and some Requiem game.. I couldn't help but think to myself how much I wanted to play silkroad, how choppy or laggy this new game was or how weird the skills and mediocre the grind and easy the leveling was compared to silky.

Anyone else feel like I do? Doesn't this game just have it's... unique charm that you can't find in any other MMORPG out there?

=S I wanna come back to Silkroad, but I can't find a time slot to log in anymore. Even that isn't keeping my mind away from wanting to log in and party it up.

Silkroad is probably better than most free MMO's. But it can't compare to a real game like WoW.

I've only played WoW's 14 day trial, twice. And for me it's the only game out there that's better then SRO that I've played so far. I enjoy the fact that you can do other things then just grinding.

But yeah  Silkroad

Lol?

I respect your opinion but i higly disagree, WoW is kinda childish.

Anyways the First mmorpg i play was MU online, i though it was cool but then i was introduced to SRO and it was on its Beta B, and since then im stick to it. never changed for nothing else.

yeah i like it too

i liked runescape a bit more but not the 3d verison :S but only because you can choose to fight, and if not fight do other things too

sro is fun with euro because if you dont want to fight you can party and be a support char while leveling

You're obviously somebody who has never played WoW, or you tried it once and gave up at level 2. World of Warcraft IS the best MMO, no matter what anybody says.

What's best is based on every individual person :P

It matters what others say, nothing declaring something the best, worst, etc.. is ever universally true or "the standard".

I played WoW. I don't care what anyone say's, in my opinion and experiences getting to level 58, it's... Just not what I wan't in a game.

You dig, dawg? ^^

I agree with you totally. Other games don't have smoothly flowing skills and other motions compared to SRO. Recently I've been trying to look for another game to play, but each time I watch a Youtube video of a potential game it just doesn't compare. However, I've stopped training my char anyway because I know she'll never get to 100 FF. I tried CSRO but it's too empty :(

When it comes to F2P, SRO is on top of my list. I have no idea what gets me, but it's definitely not the grind nor the service. It has multiple potentials but they remain unrealized. Slowly getting away from it over the past couple of months.

Can't really compare WoW with SRO. WoW is on a league of its own. With almost 12 million subscribers, the next top subscribed MMO (EQ) has 1 million. Even if it's F2P, SRO can hardly hit 500k.

He said it better than I did. I agree. For a F2P game, it's amazing. If it were to go P2P, it would need to shape up a lot. Honestly, with some effort from Joymax, I think it could happen.

You guys should try Ether Saga Online. It's brand new and great game. They have good graphic and quests.

The draw of this this game was definitely there, and it has tons of potential, but I've grown to dislike this game.

But yeah, it was pretty fun for the time I played it.

Man you pretty much read my mind. That whole post is my thoughts exactly. I've tried games that have some similar aspects like Rohan. I liked Atlantica Online but I lost interest after lvl 25.

I guess Silkroad is the game I was meant to play, there aren't any other games out there that I can really enjoy, although I am definitely going to give Aion a shot when it's released in North America. Until then, it's all on the Silkroad for me.

+2...I logged in a few times this past week after the update, and managed to even log in over the weekend for a bit with no tickets. Jangan is back, lol...it brought back a lot of memories of playing and leveling. I don't mind the grinding a bit, so will definitely be back on to hit this next cap...only 81 now but have sp for 90 skills. Who knows after that :)

I've played several other free mmo's over the past few years too, but none of them have the allure of Silkroad. It keeps you coming back!

I feel the same way. When 2moons came out there was a certain hype about it.. I tried it, it sucked.
Heard a lot of things about WoW, #1 mmo out there, etc.
Tried it, it fucking failed.

Hopefully Aion will come soon.. and hopefully it's actually good.

SRO had the potential to become godly, but then Joymax ruined it all.

 Silkroad Online

Like others, I've tried out other MMORPGs as well. Perfect World, 2moons, Shaiya, Starport GE, and maybe one or two others. I always come back to SRO, even if I've been taking a break for a few months now.

I agree WoW does have a bit of a cartoonish/childish look to it with the graphics. It doesn't really appeal to me.
