does the person who did the most damage on the unique get the drops or is it a mad rush for the items,
also if you know, what kind of items do uniques drop?

its the same as a regular mob.

The party (or person if hes alone) that does the most dmg gets 15-20 secs to pick up the items.
After the little delay its free for all.

For the second part of the question : they drop item their level and the items have high chance of being ++ed but they also have high chance of being repair invalid.
Uniques also drop raw material to destroy for elements. These materials usually give a lot of elements per unit (20 or so) but its not very common.

Shaitan however is the only mob in the game to drop 89/90 drops. As well as theives and hunters of course....but that wasnt the question.

Who does the most damage he gets drops and kill.

Don't the level 90 Shaitan spawns drop the 89/90 drops?

And if a party kills the unique, the player with the highest dmg within that party will get the kill.

So if a party total dmg is 1000 and you did 500. A solo guy did 600. You will still get the kill (random figures)

Yeah they saied they droped but killed thousands of them and nothing, maybe just bad luck.

saw a vid one day, someone killed yarkan, he droped storm spiral (it was a sun), the guy picked it up, and it was distributed to some other party member lol
everything was filmed, so it looked good
