The Death of Silkroad legits?

Please dont just read the bullet points;
I would appreciate it if you took your time to read the whole post before posting your opinion!

It has come to my attention that this game is getting alot harder to play for legit players.

A few points;
- Skills now require ~ 5k to level up.
- New bot appears
- Bots draining all the slots on servers making playing without prem impossible.
- Competing with the botters costs even more (Devil Suit + Avatars + Premium)
- Not to mention Pet and Skill ticket..
- Huge KS in most areas of the map make solo training near impossible.
- Gold and item buyers acquiring full sun sets.
- Less and less partys every day make party grinding that much more difficult.
- Job systems dominated by high level botters.
- Legit communities (on my server) dying due to the reasons above.

Alot has changed since this game begun. Unfortunately, it seems things have got worse.

It seems now that to enjoy silkroad you have to be a botter. With a look at the SP requirements for 100cap, i have decided to break the cycle while i can and leave this game. It is also becoming more and more apparant that people are feeling the same as me, people making posts entitled "Byebye Silkroad" etc. I will never be able to quit my addiction of Silkroad, i will always come on when the traffic is low at 3am or something for a quick pvp or trade. But i very much doubt i will ever play seriously again, and i most certainly wont be embarking on my quest for Lvl 100 and even 120 which you speak of now.

People turning to botting is certainly not the answer though. It's almost just taking the selfish easy way out of things while making everything for all the rest of us harder. Unless Joymax sort out their bot banning, i foresee alot more people leaving. With speculation of 100 being just around the corner, what will happen to legitimate communities? Not just on the server but these very Forums aswell. With the No tolerance on botters, many people will be forced out of here. I know there will always be people willing to play the game legit, no matter what the highest level is, but there aren't many. Has anyone thought what these forums will be like at 120cap? So many people are posting 10-12D topics when we are only months into 9D. Its amazing seeing what we 'could' look like if we botted, but seriously only a handful of us will ever reach the next cap, and i dread to think about the caps to follow. What state will these forums be in? Will there come a point where botters will have to be tolerated to sustain a thriving community?

Dont take from my post that i am for botting. In a perfect world nobody would bot, but this is Joymax. I have merely learnt to put up with them.

There is a scary and unpredictable future ahead for us.
I wish i could find these answers in my pk2. :P

Discuss :roll:

Good choice. Many legits I knew went right to botting when the 90 cap came. And yes, that's why Jackal and I stopped playing, one reason anyway. Don't worry, soon the sro poison will leave your system, even if it takes a few months. It's like a breath of fresh crisp air on a spring day. Just wait >.>

its not the death of legits, maybe for some servers though, some have only a handful.

i just play for fun, i dont grind like crazy, and ill level up slowly and gradually, but because im not screamiing that a goldbot stole my flower kill i wont be inclined do smash my computer into the size on a TV remote claiming that its the computers fault :P

On Troy im in a nice legit union, we surely have the best share parties in troy, when my warrior reaches 90 i do feel like 100 cap, because sharing in chi in will probs own ass ^^
But yea, solo training is impossible >.<

Pointless, pointless thread.

SRO is bot mania, just deal with it.

Pointless, pointless post.
Why did you even bother?

Did you even bother to read my post? I can deal with bots. I am bringing up what the future holds. All of you are looking at what the future holds in terms of what the weapons will look like, how much sp you need blah blah.. But there are alot more important questions and points to be raised.

Dont want to move off topic, but could somebody explain what the problems with ecsro are? I had heard it was good. However you seem to disagree..

Edit: And what the benefits of esro are?

I try to read the messages in this toppic and, in a way, it scares me..I recently started playing SRO :love: and it's fun, at least, when I can get in the game. But when I don't get in in the morning then I'm lucky to get in at night :cry:
Then I read things as esro, ecsro and isro... :banghead: I think, I'm getting too old for gaming, not knowing what it is.
There's still so much to learn, and therefore I'm glad that I found this site. Only thing is, that people not always answer the question of the one that posted before them, even if they don't know an answer.
So, after getting it of my chest, I will see if I can find out what esro is.

Thanks for your help :)
The point of this post was not to scare people away from the game, but to raise awareness and perhaps discuss the other side of what is to come for us.
Everyone here enjoy(s)(ed) silkroad. Otherwise we wouldn't be here. My advice to you would be to not get into isro while you can, its awefully addicting, and there are far too many negatives now. I enjoy the game like you, i suggest looking into private servers. Leveling and droprate is faster. And as far as i know botting is not tolerated. You could say, it's sro paradise. :roll:

I have no experience in private servers.
Currently 61% of ecsro client downloaded.

However the point of this thread was not to delve into the benfits of private servers, but the current problems isro has, as this is what these forums are predominantly for.

Csro = Chinese Silkroad Online
Jsro = Japanese Silkroad Online
Ksro = Korean Silkroad Online
Ecsro= European Center Silkroad Online
Esro = ??

If this isn't as it should be, then let me know

my question is can't people sp farm at ongs?
Or in this game silkroad, can't we look for another monster just like ongs but at a higher lvl so then people can sp farm there?<----------solution? and charge less for that plvl
I think that could be a solution because legits find it hard to lvl up so then they bot, they might find it more reasonable not to bot and just sp farm/plvl

Plus look at this another way, sp farm/plvl at a mob that would have pt mobs and champs, giants that gold bots can't fight because most are nukers so decreasing their survival would help

Ecsro isn't made by elitepvpers. They're just a simple community (but like someone said - bot community). Ecsro is run by someone who managed to get sro server files, and botting there is not allowed. Of course some still do that but most of them get banned. If ecsro had the same version as isro I wouldn't waste my time with isro.
But I can't understand why doesn't JM ban gold bots, they're worthless to jm (yeah they make up the traffic, but I'm pretty sure players would buy other silk items instead of having to buy premium)

lol its always been like this. the only solution is for somone who actualy gives a shit to run a private server, other than that theres not much to do, its been the same old same old since the 70 cap when botting became popular

ive read ur post and u have some valid points and concerns but most/all of these have already been raised a number of times(you can literally make a sticky of em you know).

end of line is, this game has a gr8 allure its exciting, fast paced, has some uniqueness and gr8 customisability. HOWEVER, this does not change the fact that its grind ratio is off the charts and in most of the new mmorpg's 3 hrs of grind= 3 weeks of SRO grind(well it does get like that the higher u go). im not saying there shouldnt be grind(mmorpg's need grind otherwise they wouldnt be wat they r) but there is no need for it to be so much of it.

I digress, anyway my point is that since thre is so much grind not every1 will be able to keep it up wen thre real life comes knocking so they turn to bots so they can still enjoy the game, this problem will only increase as cap goes higher and eventually most ppl will either bot or quit(im sure thre r some that can keep grinding but i thnk they r in a minority honestly)

(hmm my conclusion was gonna be nicer but i forgot wat it was)

either way until joymax addresses this issue nothing is going to change no matter how many such threads you make on x number of forums, and if past experiences are anythng to go by i doubt they will do much more in the near future.
personally im looking forward to silkroad 2 and hoping it will be better(and also f2p)

There is only one way out.
Stop banning & moaning about the player bots, every game has them..
The big problem are the gold bots, they need to ban them, but they will come back, the only things that can change this imo are these;

-make that you can exchange/stall silk items.

cSRO/vSRO(& maybe other versions) have the possibility to stall these things items, if people are in need of gold, they can stall these items, and they wont have to buy gold(this is mostly cheaper).

Well, this wont happen, because joymax is way too gready

Ecsro= European Center Silkroad Online (PSERVER)
Esro = E*pvper Silkroad Online (PSERVER)

Vsro = Veitnamese Silkroad Online
Tsro = Taiwanese Silkroad Online
and thats all i know of

@ Infect, the Infect i knew on posiden was owned by someone who was already banned from this forums for botting. so unless you bought that character, mabey i should look into that.

OnTopic: you cant say ban the gold bots but leave the player bots and learn to deal with them. 90% of gold bots are clientless bots run by individual player bots. NOT GOLD SELLING COMPANIES! so every time you ban a gold bot he will just make another account and start again. you cannot simply continue to ban accounts and hope they leave. you have to force ppl into making 1 account like ksro does. if isro required your passport number or your ssc then you can be sure there would be no bots in isro within only a few months. ban the bots 1 time and they can never come back.

that imo is the best way to ban all bots and make sure the legits rule sro again and can grind in peace.

Oh shut up about the bot. OP's post edited* This is like, what, the 3rd topic this week where this "new bot" was mentioned? Stop bringing it up.

<<If people want to learn about bots they can google it, but that does not mean it should be posted here.>>

You guys need to understand that this is still a free game. You get what you paid for. If you Choose to pay for prem, etc... then you only have yourself to be angry with. Does all the stuff the original poster state suck? YES, but regardless it's still a free game, and you can't expect shit for a free game.

The forums will remain at the current state, I'm sure there are a significant number of user here that bot, or use some 3rd party program.

Premium+ 5hrs is ridiculous, why not just reduce the time to 2-3hrs but increase the experience %.

Sp farming is an issue, not only will getting cap be harder but farming will be needed.

I have always supported Joymax by buying Premium+, but now that h'm cap their is not need for premium, I only log in when possible. I refuse to buy a Premium just to log into the game. as of lately the bot ban has only been goldspammer,thus the traffic is getting worse. when the time comes when servers are crowded all the times, I'll stall my whole set and call it quits till 10D comes.

pointless Thread..
Of course anythign you said is true but it is like this for a long time now..and i guess everyone who plays this game for more than some month knows about it..
But i dont think that REAL legits will start botting when the new caps comes..as i experienced the hardcore Legits dont wanna be at cap as fast as possible like the botters do..they want have some fun in a nice party and enjoy silkroad as it's meant to be played..and those players will never start botting i think.
