WAT? Mostly in other games you cant transfer accounts after they make 2nd version of it. So we lose them? This would be a chargeback fest, much ppl would leave. They havent updated Silkroad online to the stage it should be (140 cap and islam) and do this? SUX

I wouldn't be surprised. Silkroad is a very old game, and it's f*cked up beyond all repair. Why not start fresh? Maybe they'll get it right this time.

Or it'll be like Gunbound and called it "Gunbound 2" with new features added in.

It makes me think.. if Silkroad 2 is really going to be built completely from scratch.. would the devs really recreate the current map? Mm..

I think its going to be a whole new game with the same features as regular silkroad. But hopefully your right and they might just update.

Or what if this version is pay to play only?

South Korea is dumping money into its games industry, and massively multiplayer games are a lucrative business. Silkroad was actually launched internationally with the help of a government initiative which provides the infrastructure and marketing required for a global launch. Taking that into account, it seems possible that Joymax may have been one of the studios selected to create a Korean WoW-killer.

That said, for Silkroad to become as mainstream as WoW or even Lineage, there will need to be some major changes in the way Joymax manages things.

Summary: It is unveiled that the development of Silkroad Online's sequel Silkroad Online II has been launched by Joymax, the developer of Silkroad Online. The project has just been started and there are about developers working for it. The game is preliminarily scheduled to release in 2010.

Silkroad online servers wont be closed imo they make alot money it will be "f2p" but silkroad online2 coulde be P2P 15usd, better drawing, GMS? (dunno), storyline will remain the same thats my opinion

i agree with cruor his comments, the silkroad engine and coding is simply fubar and that combined with the game features which are done halfassed and nowhere near their true entertainment potential.

ill have faith in this project if it holds true, if the developers can make this sequal anything in the likes of Aion, Continent of the Ninth and Blade and Soul while still preserving the silkroad core gameplay... im seriously fvckin sold and be playing sro2 for years to come while not giving a sh¡t about all my current accounts and the money i've spend on those while having a new fresh start on a better game
