Question about E-mail Verification

I am posting this for my cousin who doesn't have an account here and he is also too lazy to make one, so Im asking for him.

What is the purpose of doing the Email Verification thing, and is it still possible to get hacked?

ME: at the getting hacked thing, I remember when it first came out people were getting hacked left and right due to the E-mail Verification thing on the website.

if you get hacked you can ALWAYS get your account back because only YOU can change the pw. If you DONT verify it you will LOSE your accout TOTALLY.

+1.....those who do NOT verified the Email address and get hacked....can loose the acc..completely....the hacker can change the current email and type his/her own email and then verify that email....so even if you know the secret answer you are not allow to modify ur acc. before going through email verification =.=..which is no longer ur email.

If I get hacked and I verified my email with my account the hacker can mess up my character and get it murder status and etc, but I can change the password and get the account back?

Till he dc' s and if u changed pw he can do what ever he likes but if its lvl 90 and he makes lvl 5 murder or so then u end up at 89 then with no gear etc. It is easier to get gear etc back then from 0 > 90.. So yeah. Email verificate ALL ur accounts..

As far as I know, you cant.

Thanks to the mail verification I got back my hacked account easily.
The only inconvenient is you never will be able to change the mail of the account. Very bad if you want to switch your mail or if the provider of your email service is down.
