Of course even my old p4 pc setup can run detailed shadows ... 4fps.

at training spots close to full speed with everything running maximum ill give hotan a try later (i usually have no shadow on). Might wait till tommorom wen im finnished building my new pc with tri-channel dd3 ram and i7 920 processor. (still the 9600 tho :banghead:

Well yeah, no shit, the game is three or four years old. On hardware from three or four years ago though, it's hit or miss.

Yeah, ofc. Sro is pretty impressive for how old it is, i reckon it looks on par or better than the latest WoW expansion. First expansion cant even compare to SRO though (and sro came out a year b4)

Nearly everyone can run detailed shadows at decent fps at their training spot.

It's a whole new ball game when you enter hotan though.

I'm running detailed shadows on my PC. Here's the specs. No really, THESE are the specs and I AM running detailed shadows with enough FPS to grind solo at least.

Processor: AMD Athlon XP 3200+

I'd say it takes about 30 seconds to open SRO, log in, and select a character. Maybe another 20-40 seconds to load town, depending on where I spawn.

I lag a bit in town, especially if it's a crowded town, but once I"m out in the field, I can pretty much grind without a problem.

I haven't tried going to a fortress war or guild war. I tend to lag a bit of a big trade run goes by.

Still, detailed shadows FTW!

WoW's graphics are good for the style of game it is.
WoW wouldnt be nearly as popular if they changed the graphics to ones similar to sro.
