They mean that they wouldn't ask for your information in the game itself :banghead: :banghead:

Its just to make sure that it is you that won it and not some random person claiming to be you.

by "ID" they probably mean character name that was use in the forum not ur actual log in ID...

also most player do not user there main acc. to post in there forum cuz there forum =sh**t.....many fear that they would get hack cuz,,,of many security issues they had before.......so winner of the SP..probably won't got to there main acc.

Do they actually say they won't ask for your ID, or just password? I see no harm in Joymax asking for your ID because they can easily find it anyway by looking in their database.

The password is (or should be at least) encrypted, and even the system administrators at Joymax can't see what your password is, and have no business (or need) in asking you for it.

At least that's how it is on any other network I've ever been on, whether a Windows domain, Linux /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow file, SQL server accounts, or anything else. I'd assume a game server is the same way.

Edit: Either way, if they're saying "don't give out your user ID and password" to anyone (including Joymax)" then it's the combination of the two. If you just give someone your password, they still have to find your ID, or vice versa. Giving them both gives them the keys to your account.

I still wouldn't provide either the ID or password to any average person, but Joymax already has access to your ID, so no harm giving it to them.

no, they know peoples id.
1. when you post in silkroad official forums, you log in.
2. when they ban bots, the bot ban is in a list of CHAR names, yet your login name is blocked.

therefore if you log into the login and post to them they should be able to tell if your the real user oor not!

Exactly. It's like in SQL Server, GM enters the query:

SELECT UserID,password,CharName from users;

UserID password CharName
Nooblet ADO@FO!V25AOSL$@SOZ^$2 _PR0METHEUS_
IR1337 LBA9245V9A02!#50difv)@ penfold1992
secretid BIF()V*SDF)DFJB?SDFKD) Corrupt
.
.
.
.

Disclaimer: Above user IDs and encrypted passwords are made up on the spot.
