A Truly Good Guild

Post by Goseki »

I think any guild/uni that truly are nice people who enjoy the game and aren't ass-holes would make the Tax -20%. You still get income from what i heard, just less. And it's still free gold. It would be so much easier and would raise the attractiveness of every town, as well as making ppl support the guild. If i had to choose who to support, i'd def support whoever is helping the normal ppl.

But of course this is SRO and ppl are too Farking greedy to give a shit and can't bear to get 480 mil instead of 600 mil.

If you set it at a -% rate you won't get anything AFAIK..The npc prices just go down by that amount. >.<

Ever heard of helping someone other than yourself? So Jangan might not be the best example, but imagine if every city had a tax rate of 20% >_>. Would be annoying. Or maybe not -20, maybe just 10 instead of 20. I seriously doubt most of the fort owners never bought gold to pimp their shit to actually win. >_>.

Like i said. I doubt anyone would be nice enough in SRO.

Not everyone is a gold bot. A nice owner would go +20% to -20 every other time. They get gold and on average everyone else is even

the problem lies in the game system, there is no consequence in setting high tax rates. as such, there is no incentive to set anything lower than 20%.

Oh yeah and should a truly good guild should give the fortress to others so they can show how "good" they are by taking it back?

Your logic is flawed m8.

You seriously need to learn some respect. Goseki's posts are always to the point and interesting. Its better than reading pointless quitting posts, complaining about uniques or 'yay +5' threads.

Seriously, if you dont have anything good to post, just stay the fuck out of the discussion.

On topic:

You have a good point, but most people are too selfish to think of others. All they think about is the gold, and rightly so. If i was leader of fortress, i would have +20% taxes, because i worked to get the fortress. However, if the SRO community was a little nicer, i would have it set to 0%, maybe even -20%, but only to try and kick start trading from Jangan so the whole server would benefit from a more active jobbing system.

Heh, thnks lempi.

Hmm good idea about the trades. Maybe we can see more server-wide trades with cheaper stuff.
I still remember my first server-wide trade. 50+ traders from dw - hotan. The line we had was HUGE! Now i'm amazed to see even 1 high lvl do a trade with a fortress or silk transport. This game really needs an actual update to the jobbing system. I'm a hunter and all i do now is run around like an idiot trying to find traders to help or thieves to kill. So far every trade i've seen is under lvl 40 and doesn't need help, or capped and has his entire guild of hunters with him. Come on ppl.... stop doing 1 man trades and do HUGE-epic trades.

Oops Off Topic :P.

Yeah they work hard to get it... but after owning the fortress for a month+, i think it would be nice to give a break. increase the incentive for ppl to come to your city.

And ppl do stuff because it's fun. Does there have to be a reward to everything? What's the reward for cape pvping? Nothing, yet it's the most common form of pvp in this game. why? Because sometimes it's just fun showing ppl you can pwn them.

I agree having the tax for a few short times to get money as a reward for ur uni is good, but after awhile.... lower it and global about it so the jobs can be active once again.

Agreed 100%.

I know of other games with a similar castle system and oddly enough the reward for winning the castle/fort was the same benefit -20% to 20% gold from the town. HOWEVER in those games if there was a guild that took the castle/fort and set tax at 20% the whole server would cry out calling them names like evil dictator etc.. Because of this many many more people would go to castle/fort war to overthrow the evil guild.

In iSro however it is not a diverse community. iSro community is 99% arrogant, selfish, retard children.

If I had one complaint about sro it is the lack of forethought in everything they do.

Hmm i never really got far enough in other games with a fortress system... that makes sense. They should do it like that so ppl will get pissed and ban together to overthrow whoever wins it.

great place to buy vigors/NPC drops

Probably meant to encourage trading.

Can any1 tell me what happens when 1-2 of the most active trading guilds are in the same alliance with 1-2 of the best thieving guilds?

Nothing

IMO, trading trading/hunting/thieving activity on troy started to die since K_0 Union (thief) was disband and join hunter/trader alliance, strong fortress alliance but significantly reduce jobbing activity.

Not our fault your union fell apart. jobbing peaked for the first time in over a year once Arkenstone Union took over the fortress. Then once the other unions figured out that it was useless trading unless you were in Arken union, they all started to fall apart. I heard alot of "screw this game, im just going to gold bot and sell the gold to the gold company."

Did you ever think not everyone is lucky to afford suns? Not accusing you of buying gold or anything, but not everyone is as lucky. I personally have only gotten 1 lvl 16 sos sword in over 3.5 years. All the gold i have i've saved. I just think it's unfair to have a low lvl town have high taxes. Like a newbie could afford that. This game is pretty much killing itself with every update. Now it's just the same old players powerlvling new characters for their friends.

Jobbing didn't die because of K_O's union being disbanded(Even though its pretty much same as now with arken union. Just a new leader). Jobbing died, because traders gave up on trading. Why? They were hardly successful unless they were/are part of the union. Your union gave up on trading and fell apart and the rest of the server doesn't want to trade since they know it'd be an insta-rob.

-%20 was trying to encourage the server to trade, but it.. kinda backfired I suppose. It became a 'hot spot' and scared to even go to jangan. Even if its at -20% no one cares about trading for 20% more profit or 20% off goods. Just a place to sell shit and buy vigors/typhoons now.

@Above. What gold bots? lol.. You get 20% of what they npc and usually its about 200mil/2weeks. Yeah.. you're so screwing them over.

Re: A Truly Good Guild

Post by JKMB »

I belive when the update was released, Joymax said something about rating the fort owning guild, for example ppl who set their res point as Jangan would have to vote on how the commanding guild looked after the city on a scale of 1-5, and this would affect how they could upgrade their fort. This is no doubt still on the fort war legend update page, I cannot load silkroadonline.net to look for it however since im using a Linux, but if someone where to check the previous updates im sure they could find mention of this ranking system.
I guess the reason it isnt implemented atm is because we only have 1 fort, so everyone could just set their res as Jangan and give the controlling fort a bad rating so the fort would be easier to capture next war.
So I guess if you set the tax really high then you would recive a bad rating from the rest of the server.
