I just started hunting D8 mobs (karas and earth ghost soldiers/warriors) for abt 2 weeks. And it seems to me they drop a lot fewer items than D7 mobs. Is this true or is it just my bad patch?

Fewer item drops means gold shrinking.

Gold drops get higher whereas item drop rate gets lower.

i think i dun get much more gold compared to when i was training on yetis and shakrams.

2-3 level difference..you won't notice.

Wait 'til D9 omg... drops are so rare.

yea think back to when u were lvl 1-20 u would get a drop about every 100-200 mobs lol

now ur lucky to get a drop in 1000-1500 mobs

That's worrying ... can't imagine how i'm gonna earn enough gold to buy decent D8 and D9 equipments. LoL

You can't under normal circumstances. That is why many quit the game because it really is pointless.

On Olympus, both people always have an outside resser, or niether do. It can be goddam terrible, but a good trader should almost never be seen...

True, when i was a hunter I was sick of shouting get off the Farking road.

Silkroad is pretty much based on this idea...

You grind, you slowly lose money, forcing you to either stall drops or job.
You job, making the money. (killed by out of suit buffs)
The best players would be the ones that job the most, most money=best gear. (killed by gold buyers)

Blame Joymax they have the power to put it right.

You sometimes drop nice stuff from those mobs with good white marks on it, if you add one or two little blues you make a couple of millions out of one item.

And to answer the question, yes dropping rate decreases. I think the game is made to have one drop every 5 % (or something around) and since it takes lots more time to get 5% at high level the drop rate decreases seeing from the player point of view. The amount of gold dropped is increasing with higher mobs.

its a fact the higher you get the more mobs you need to kill to get the same amount of items,

but now im level 33 grinding at ongs i get a cr@p load of items lets say 5 weapons 55k each and like 3 gear pieces 35k each..

that would give you a total of 275+105 k = 380k, and a weapon drop at level 72 gives you over 1kk gold.. so yeah.. less drops bigger worth.

i hate how much this game is revolved around gear and not skill =/

But as an added bonus your pots cost more making you fly through money faster. I was doing good to get a drop a week at 80. It really depends I suppose. A good 8 person pty killing fast enough might do ok. But on Xian there really was no such thing for the most part. It was often a brutal solo grind and I pretty much always came back a bit poorer. Hunting was required to cover pots to train.

What do you mean with skill? The only thing you need in Silkroad (if your legit) is time and patience.

Oh yeah ... I used to trade a bit at level 30+. Then i discovered i earn more from training than jobbing. And so i NPC my job suit.

I may just have to revive 1 of my lower level characters in cold storage just to earn decent gold.

just stalling a bit, seeinng where you can get your profits in the market.

I do stall. Problem is ... if you don't get much drops, there aint any to stall.

Good for you, your extremely annoying. If you quit, then all the better to you, do whatever you want, but in every single Farking post you made it's "just quit the game". Stop being a douche. If you quit, stop coming to GD.

The higher level you get the less drops you get, but higher level drops are worth soooo much more then lower level ones. You drop more gold too. And the elements you get from alchemy are worth more. It's actually easier to make money as you get higher level.

Hey butt nutter it is douches like you that give Venus a bad name oh and BTW I am on Venus. When I play that is. You got something really constructive to say or if you disagree then just say you disagree. But you don't have to be an ass. Just saying.

I already did the whole "well that was my experience" YMMV thing. As I am not some mental know it all asshole. But frankly truth is there is still a lot of luck involved in making money. I knew people that were so lucky it was practically criminal. And then there were people like myself that rarely get a break. Truth is getting gold as a legit takes a lot of work in general. And due to inflation things take way more gold than they should making it unlikely that your average legitimate person is gonna do what is considered well unless they have a lot of time to spend on it or are extremely lucky.

yep, i hardly get drops at all, you can also try to buy cheap +5 weps without anything else (if your good at making blues/stats) and resell. or buy d6 npc stuff and break them for earth/water 6 etc (i made 100m like that when i started over with 5m >.<)
there are enough chances for which you dont have to get drops yourself

The big way for money is actually the grab pet.... and a nice guild where members pass their stuff to another fellow.

the lower you are the more items you drop
the higher you are the more elixers you drop

srsly never dropped so many elixers ever im 76 now hope it continues like this ^_^
