To clear all the cloud of doubt out there

Well, i'm a Autoit programmer, i could make quite handful programs.
Here is the deal: I'll make a program that could scan your computer for bot program! After that, it generates an encryption string (that only me can decode) to tell if you have bot or not. It also give your IP address (for security reason, the first 2 parts of the IP is cut). Mods could do an IP to see if it matches.

For safety reason, i could eventually give the source code to the mods, they check and compile it.

Later, if it works well, i'd make a database Big Brother and keep track the activity of everyone daily :P

Of course, our Fly and Nightbloom would be invited to use first :P

i suppose if people don't use the program, you can flag them for botting huh

What if I delete my bot, scan my PC with your program and reinstal my bot?
How would you know do I bot?

Who cares what you want. 99.999999 of the ppl bot even mods.
Stupidest idea to begin with.

After this idea you better gtfo from here.
Do you want the paypal and the cc passwords in front or you get it yourself.

And by the way autoit is a cheap sht not a programming language.

Seems like going a bit far to me anyway... might aswell give you remote access while I'm at it. A good idea in theory but in practice flawed.

Watch like 70% of the SRF population be wiped off if that was enforced.

More comp has same ip, but i can also detect MAC address.
But im aware that some noob would say "my brother bot his char on my computer, that's why you found it, but i don't bot!"

Nitro wrote:What if I delete my bot, scan my PC with your program and reinstal my bot?

Scanning method not only is files, but could be registry, history
(ur not going to erase your registry daily, right?)

Quyxz wrote:nice method to hack people silo

As said, the source code would be give to mods or who ever understand this language to check it.

Berto wrote:Watch like 70% of the SRF population be wiped off if that was enforced.

Isn't that what SRF always want? :P

So if a new random kid, wants to make an account on SRF they need to have their PC scanned? If so, say good bye to any Incoming-New members on the forum. More and more people will leave since SRF will turn into dictatorship, "Do what I say, and do it when I say it". Thus SRF will slowly die with a lack of members joining, and a growing base of members leaving.

The idea isnt a bad one, however, it should be used on Mods, and people of authority/influence on the forum. After all, we cant have hypocrites setting examples for the rest of us.

After nightbloom/Fly were exposed for botting and for distributing free softmod accounts to people and DarkJackal botting.... I don't know who to trust as a legit anymore.

I'm sadden that I used to admire nightbloom/Fly :(

I do know that if this is implemented, at least 95% of SRF population will be banned.

Not to be a pain. But AutoIt isnt really "programing" if I for instance run an AutoIt script, it would jsut scan my PC, search through the registry for any bot related junk, then send my IP and the log of what it found/didnt find on my PC.

You fail to see that you can alter the AutoIt script, keep its basic functions, and let it send a bogus report/log from my PC with my IP adress attached. Afterall, AutoIt can be edited quite easily. There would be no way for you to know that im using an altered AutoIt. If you think you can use AutoIt to read what size of file I have/name/edit date etc, you can fake all of those with two to three lines of text.

As well, as Doppleganger said, Varifed by a Mod? Great, a mod verified it.. who exactly is he? How many mods on SRF have extensive AutoIt knowledge. And once they verify it, how do they dont know it wont be distributed by a third party, or even yourself with ill intentions.

Also, its interesting you would use AutoIt for this is. If your such a good programer, why not make it in another language?\. AutoIt will give you false positives all across the board if you use ANY antivirus software, meaning most people will have to shut down their antivirus software to use your "program/script"

Yup, I think that would be a major loophole. Just use a computer without a bot installed for SRF and, voila, instant legit.

Anyway, I'm on a Mac so I don't have a registry. :D

I agree, use for mods. It would destroy new members, as well as get rid of a large amount of the community. Personally, I don't care if you bot if you contribute to a good discussion. Bots>Trolls>idiots.

Don't get me wrong the mods are nice people but because avalon has this place by the balls Even they can't be trusted with a program like this to scan over 20,000 users. Too many things can happen, and too many things will happen. How often do you let other people scan your computer? If a program like this was made from a company say like Gameguard it would be different, I'd be all for that. But not for a "program" thats made from a single person like this, common.

is forced to run it, what makes you think we wouldn't just block it with firewall to keep it from sending data... or running it on virtual pc/sandbox :S

though it would be nice if joymax did it instead of gameguard but meh... you arent joymax lol no right to force people to download junk
