Sro Queue System ... Revival Or End Of SRO ?!

Joymax is about to revive Silkroad.
If this morning update is what we believe it is, Silkroad might start to become lively again. Joymax did failed to release version (1.162 and 1.163) of sro_client and did a rollback. But this update, if my belief is right, might be one of the long awaited queue system for the login. Which failed during it first test making that nobody could login and they decided to rollback to the old client and server.

Error happened right after the captcha which the only link we can think of would be that it tryed to send the user to a queue system which should then accept the user to login. But that new feature had a small bug or mis-configuration making the player to DC. While this is only a supposition, but no matter what... I would definitly love Joymax if such a feature is coming soon.

Either an update to prevent bot or a long awaited queue login system.
Either are fine, but seriously, a queue login system would make silkroad a game which could be enjoyed finally by real user and not only by bot.
- no more client crashing because the server full
- no more NoDC client required
- only 1 captcha to fill
- can wait in line for hours but at least you have a spot to play

So The Question Is .. will this Be really

the Chance we always waited to Revive Sro

Or it'll be the DEATH of it ?

Some ppl might say it's Great as ppl can jst wait in a Line and they'll be In sooner or Later

The Question is :

WHAT if there was like 4000 Players in a Queue infront of ya ??

that's logically can be true

JM Makes Servers 2500 capacity and it's Crowded

3000 .. Crowded .. 3500 Crowded .. even 5000 will be Crowded

So Now Imagine all Gold Bot Companies dnt have to Fight traffic .. imagine How many Gbots will be in the Line ..

Share ur Opinions ..

I personally wouldnt like queue system in Silkroad ...
Because I can log in no matter what time it is, without premium.

Goldbots can autologin and can fill in the 'captcha' themselves.

Just something to think about.

+1 my words :(

And either way: if they don't expand the capacity soon, that plan won't be work because of the bots, and the fact that more than 4k players are on each server

2 words:

gold bots

and also this topic has been discussed about 3 times. No offence but all you did was add a poll. That doesnt really justify making another topic

I belive that WoW has this system and it works quite well, downside is the auto-login feature of the goldbots, mabye JM need to add a feature that d/c's you after a certain ammount of play time, or an image code that you must fill in when you enter town, OR mabye the GM's could just log on and activily particpate in the running of their game. :banghead:

+1, that will solve most problems of SRO.

@topic i don´t think we can know how it will be, unless it´s not out. We´ll just have to wait till it comes out and then we´ll see how it´s going on, now it´s not the time to discuss something like that i think.

The people who play now don't mind this way of logging on, the fucking noobs who want to play would love a queue system though. I don't want more noobs and kiddies on my server :/

The bad side is that the gold bots would take this chance to piss off players. Imagine there are 10k gold bots before you

The good side is that JM promote users buy PT for instant access

LOL. I think that SRO is about to meet it's end because the downside of this system outweigh the positives. Gold bots will play a major role in this system.

Amen.

Oldies couldn't give 2 shits about a queue system. Specially as most buy a form of premium. Tbh, if you haven't got premium .. ie don't pay for the game .. then FUCK OFF. You have no right to complain about logging in.

believe or not
in my 1st guild on server persia we had a gold bot in our guild .
he said hi to the guild master once & never heard from him again .

this are my observations :
he was level 68 holding a 7 degree weapon !!!. he was botting at penons . & he was very very very punctuate when it comes to log-in & log-off time. he logged-in at the same time every day & logged-out at a specific time .

so to answer your question no they are not 24/7 online (at least this company that this gold bot was in)

@topic
we should give it a try for a month or so before we can judge the queue system

You truly believe that will ever happen? I'm sorry to disappoint you, but the JoyMax I know would never do it. If the story about [GM]Pizza is true, that they got fired because they banned to much bots... never.

/\ If you ever played during late 60 cap - 70 cap, then yes there once was a time when GM's logged on and actually did stuff, or at least pretended to  , my complaint isnt about bots or traffic, its about how distant the GM's have become from the players, I mean shit, even the player support team all got banned for botting.. so it kinda goes to show just how out of touch JM is.

I too think it'll destroy the game. On one hand it's nice that we won't need to bother to type the code, DC, reopen, type again and so on. On the other, now we'll just type the code, leave for 3 days, play for 10 minutes, DC and all over again.

They used to have a nice fastest-typer plays. You'd keep Enter pressed until you get a Captcha, the first to enter it gets the spot. Anyone who can type blindly was able to play fast. Then again, now I suppose they also have OCRs (Optical Character Recognition) on the gold bots (the Captcha is really weak in terms of OCRs, seriously) and will probably win that as well!

I mean shit, even the player support team all got banned for botting..
I think that line pretty much describes Silkroad as it is in the last couple of years.

ummmmm no.

goldbots(gold sites) want to sell gold to people that play the game whats the point if they have 10k gold bots ... who are they gonna sell thier gold to? prem users only? thats half of thier customers gone..

also gold companys have a set amount of bots on each server

and i was told that the goldbot company sells thier gold to the goldsites.. then they sell it to us.. not sure if its ture tho

I think so, but I was just getting started back then. I also saw a few screen shots where GMs used some kind of GM skills, like some circles where the player would be safe from any kind of monster (might be a fake, but still look cool ^^).

JoyMax really changed since [GM]Pizza and the other one are not in the company any more. :|

_$0/\/\30/\/3_ wrote:also gold companys have a set amount of bots on each server

200 gold bots, 20 gold companies = 200*20 = 4000 bots
Just an example, there is not just 1 or 2 gold botting companies, there are a lot more. Some are bigger, some are smaller.

i just realized 2 things

1-this information about the queue system was taken from rev6 web site & there wasn't any clue about it on the official web site .

2-what if 2 or more player hit confirm after entering the image code at the same time ? who will be 1st on the queue ? & won't that make the game crashes even more ??

A Queue System could help silkroad very much. In order for it to help though, there would have to be some various changes. One change is the current image verification system.. They would need to fix it so noone can auto log in any more, I.E. the gold bots. Make the image verification be like the ones that say "Type only the letters with cats on them." Or a different variation of that idea. They would also need to make the Queue system accept only the same IP at one time. This would prevent multi clienters from starting silkroad and going afk and come back after all their clients are logged in. A problem with this would be household LANs or cyber cafes... I am sure though Joymax could figure out whats what though... If a few things happened I think the Queue system would greatly help those who don't purchase monthly premium.

I honestly don't think Joymax will put in a Queue system. Some people buy premium ONLY for game access.. So they can log in, chat with friends, pvp a bit. Putting in a Queue system would allow those type of players to log in more efficiently and not have to pay monthly to log in, which in return would make Joymax lose money...

Or just implement an image code verification in the game like Cabal. Like that, the bots will be DC each 30 mins

speeble wrote:accept only the same IP at one time. This would prevent multi clienters from starting silkroad and going afk and come back after all their clients are logged in.

Problem is that would also affect users in an internet cafe, and some multiclients have the ability to hide the ip address of the client that is connecting to the server :(

Well... cant they simply make that they dont accept client if they dont see their IP adress?

My bad, by hide I ment they can alter it, so that it appears to be a diffrent ip, a proxy basicly.

Because people who buy monkeys, globals and avatars but dont want to buy premium tickets should fuck off and never complain, right? No unless you buy a premium you have no rights

Personally i think its a great idea. Goldbots will only ever allow "xxxx" gold bots on a server, kind of a ratio basis. If they put on too many than not as many people will play the game, resulting is a smaller client base for goldsites. Not as many people buying gold > large gold inventories for the gold sites > reducing the number of gold bots to help clear storage > less gold bots for a while. No matter how i look at it, its a great idea for people who don;t wish to buy premium.

Have you ever thought of why there are "peak hours". Servers aren't full all the time, but during "peak hours" they are. Now this means two things:
1) The gold botting companies don't have enough resources to fill up the server round the clock.
2) During "peak hours" a majority of the "real players" are on, or coming on.

So a queue system will help revive SRO, especially during peak hours.
