So i'm pretty bored, I was thinking what would happen if I pk2 my angel wings or my 8d garm set to the 10d garm? Is this possible? Or if I mix the shines up. What are the odds of me getting banned for this? Does JM even ACTUALLY ban ppl for this?

I'll tell you right now you will never get banned for .pk2 no matter how much you try. It is a client side change.

Client sided graphics such as the shines, models, and textures only matter to the client, not the server. The only trouble you can get into is if you PK2 edit then post screens about it on a forum that doesn't allow it. Joymax can't detect it, so you do not have much to worry about besides crashing your client from doing something wrong. Make sure to backup all your files first though as a precaution. JM would never be able to keep all PKs to the same due to their patching engine. Legit pk2s can be "different" as the result of being patched over longer periods of time. It's weird, but it happens.

However, PK2 editing can be detected if you happen to modify any data that the client sends to the server. I.e. if you use an older PK2 from the current version, the ID's for NPCs and items can be different, and that could result in a ban when you go to use items or NPCs with invalid IDs. This is why using 3rd party PK2s is never recommended, someone could modify data that you would not know was changed and you could can get banned for it.

You don't have to worry about PK2 updates because the existing files in the PK2s are simply overwritten on patch. But, for the reasons above, you should always reextract the new files and reedit the new files again rather than simply reimporting the older file that was edited!

ok, so how could i modify the shine of the wep and the 10d garm? Would i have to download kSRO and get the shines and garms there? Than I could just replace them? but wouldn't that also replace the stuff being sold in the npc shop? (8d garms would become 10d), so is it possible to change the angel wings to look like a full 10d garm set or would that be impossible?

Unless we have 10d in the iSRO .pk2 files then you need another versions .pk2. That's where you can get banned so I'd watch it.

avoid media.pk2 edits from anywhere unless its neccessary... wow crumpets post is above me..

put as much CRAP as u want in to the data.pk2 and make it 33gig

you cannot get Ksro + glows as far as i know but u can get 10d stuff ive done it before its pretty awshum... for a little bit and then somethings annoy you but ill let u find that out xD

anyway get ksro, its updates are so subtle you dont need to update it as much as csro
