All you morons that think the ban list was fake in 2006, think again. Go Check hte Venice Server list. Crsh_STR my old bot. Da_Man The person that showed me the link to download the free bot. Bot bans are real. Whether or not they do that now is left unseen. Botting was the worst thing I could have ever done. I'm more proud of my legit char than anything. Not only that but my guild beats the cr@p outta bots on a daily basis. 3 guild wars today and Odyssey won them all. I'm really tired of the tools for legits thing. Ban the bots, and legit players won't need to use help to log in. Fair and simple. It's suppose to be F2P. not $15 or $20 a month. You have to pay to login? Then the F2P is not valid. I buy the premium ticket because I'd rather get the extra XP anyways. Fact of the matter is. Anything from that gay @ss bot website that i used to be a member of is cheating, regardless of what anyone says. Whether anyone cheats or not, it's their business. Joymax should fix the piece of cr@p client so it doesn't D/C, as well recode the pk2 garbage.

More people who claim to be legit play and around with with SRO files making private servers, viewing 9d and 10d weapons. It's a game ffs. Just play it. You are not going to be better than anyone who bots, cheats or anything else when you are peaking through the files looking for hints on the next update or anything else for that matter. If you truly want to be a legit player, than stand by what you say, Play as a legit, on legit servers, with legit files.

I was a bot, I used lots of bot programs. Since joining Venus I have gone 100% legit and I love it. The total population of actual true legits is under 10%. There are so many people that have said in vent, and pm's what programs they use to connect or have multi-client, and frankly, oh well. It's their life. My rants and raves are done here. This game is so goddamn dramatic and I get sucked in all the time. stupid sro couples, globals, and other cr@p. Can't we just play a game and have some fun without the cry babies, whiners, complainers...... oh wait, then there would be a need for the forums. sigh.. i'm barking up the wrong tree.

But on topic: any step, even a small step, in the right direction is great. Yes, dramatic action is needed but I'm not going to complain if they're at least going in the right direction. JoyMax is very conservative and sometimes that gets misinterpreted. How is this game going to look in 2 years? I don't know. It couldn't get much worse than it is in the older servers right now. I think JoyMax has actually lost money in the last few months because legits who got hacked didn't want to restart and new players can't even log in. They probably make more money off the legits in Venus than any other server. If so, expect them to act accordingly.

In my Opinion Jm should just turn the game guard thing or something similar that will block you from trying to use a 3rd party program bot/no dc, etc etc

Nightbloom buddy, I have helped coding and coded myself from OTs to Ath servers. If the client is the same as used to play the official SRO, then I'm afraid what you're doing is completely illegal.
The clients given by JM are meant to be to play SilkRoad Online, whatever use you give it besides that one, is illegal. That's why most good open source communities are developing several alternative clients.

Oh and, do you really think I deleted... let's say 12:11 and Itonami from my msn just because "they bot"? Do you think I stopped hanging out with my best friend (who I consider a brother) when I found out he bots? Hell no son

Society and community are based on rules, even small ones. The fact that MOST people follow them are what makes the place you live a pretty nice place. Ever been somewhere where that isnt so? I spent months in India where there are no zoning laws and poor people live in 20 square miles of filth and shanties built outta corrugated metal and cardboard. You are right, one person tossing a paper to the ground is meaningless. No litter or pollution laws made the Ganges river so filthy you can smell it a mile away.

Of course the scale here is much different, but a sliver still hurts a bit even if it isnt the same as getting impaled by a telephone pole. It IS wrong. I dont see a huge outcry for dissolving small laws that are inconvenient.

Extracting and injecting these files from kSRO Data.pk2 to iSRO is fine because it never gives the player any unfair advantage over another in terms of gameplay. It may ease your grinding when you're looking at your character with 10D but aside from this,that's all the benefit from it.

And from JM's standpoint, you are cheating them.
