Racism and Prejudice

I try to be courteous to ppl I dont know but that isnt really respect. I respect ppl I know and like or who have accomplished things I feel are great. I dont have to respect a culture, a race or a religion I dont agree with or like.

I can be courteous and indifferently tolerant but respect takes it further than i am willing to go. I do not care what name someone calls their god as long as they do not try to tell me what to call mine. Religion is personal and should be kept as such. I would never use it as a point of contention unless someone else did it first.

But that isnt because of respect, that is indifference. I do not feel strongly about religion and find it to be regionally based like nationalism or race.

The original point was that someone said, "I hate Turks". So what. He hates Turks. Whoopty effing do. There is no imperative in life to like anyone. His statement is ignorant, but it doesnt mean much.

Of course it doesn't hinder the observer's rights (to a point). But what about the person being sacrificed? The one who's being deprived of everything, of life?

Religious belief is not something to be corrected, faith belongs to each individual. What I mean is you have no right to correct other people beliefs because you don't share them. That's not relativism, I don't believe every opinion is right, there is only one truth. But, if other don't take what I think as THE truth, I respect what they think, even though I don't believe it.

Even if these religious beliefs hinder upon people's rights? If a religious belief requires monthly human sacrifices, would you still take a passive stance?

The respect I asked for, was tolerance, yeah. Trying to turn someone into your religion is another example of what I said, that's lack of tolerance, IMO. But to tolerate, you have to courteous, not share that belief doesn't mean you have to insult it, etc.

I do. And if people didn't, world would be more chaotic than what it is. Of course that, laws are closely related with religious commandments in most countries. In ancient times, where law wasn't as organized as it is now, people's behavior was ruled by their beliefs.

Turks find it incredibly insulting because their right to criticize their on country or religion is hampered by law.

Turks and others need to be EQUALLY tolerant of the fact that in America, our right to free speech and opinion is a basic one and we exercise it freely. A large part of OUR culture is based upon this tenet. News, TV, radio; all are a smorgasborg of opinion and critisms about our own culture and government. Even completely racist and anti American groups are allowed to exist because we protect the ability to say, "Eff you, I hate you, you suk."

Tolerance is not a one way street.

Turks screwed it up for themselfs, they are the main problem (next to goldbots) in this game. The majority of players in SRO just hate Turks because

-they keep scamming (scamming=stealing, in some muslim countries they chop off your hand for stealing),
-they insult you and your family (if you dare to insult them, you get like 20 turks up your ass saying: fck you mather, you fak sister, etc. etc.),
-they KS you (never had a problem with that because I am stronger, and I know the game better than they do, also my reaction time ingame is far better than their reaction time),
-they refuse to speak English (don't come up with those damn excuses, there are online translators),
-they think everybody speaks Turkish (türküsüm? and some random letters and words behind it),
-they are waaaaay too nationalistic (guilds and players with TR_<name>_TR, and to make it worse, -their guildlogo is 99% of the time a turkish flag)
-they beg too much (the infamous '10k plýssssss men', 'no', 'fack you mather')
-they keep killing lowbies in PvP, over and over again
-they always pretend that they are shouting by adding too much letters to a word (resssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss plsssssssssss mennnnnssss, taxsiiiiiiiiiiii 100kkkkkkkk, etc.. etc..)
and many more stupid shit why they are the scapegoats of SRO, and nobody likes them!

I agree everything except nationalistic thing tell me why u stucked at this and what is it to u?Actually i dont have any TR logo or names on my chars also my friends too but ppl do what they want to do about this subject.Loving own country is not a bad thing rite m8?Also SRO has free entrance so do not expect more quality about players cuz i know there is no such a Turkish issue on WOW for example.
