does srf allow people who use no-dc client?

This board's rules need a unified solid foundation.

If you had a smidgen of intelligence, you'd just keep your mouth shut. Honestly.
Altered client. Third party. No no. Clearly outlined in forum rules.
Which means, don't promote its download or link to it.
Talking and doing, are two different things.
And LOL at the person who said we'd ban for G15 someday. Think half the people in my guild have one of those.
following forum rules, does that mean we're not allowed to post about IRC, vent or TS?? its a 3rd party software that may help in silkroad like fudge said

We do have one and all the mods do their best to follow it.
Basically, we have come to a conclusion that no-DC clients usually do not come on their own, but rather with other illegal modifications such as multiclienting or zoomhack or, bots. This affect the other players in many ways. We therefore punish whoever openly admits to using this client. It might be true 80% of the SRF's community uses it or most people never got hacked even using no-DC clients, that's really not my personal concern. If you cheat, it will come back to you at a later time.
As for PK2 editing, people do it to change how things look on their client, and unless the majority of the mod team agrees that a certain Pk2 editing brings about serious consequences for the entire community, it will not be banned.

Am I right that everyone here even mods find the no-dc client just a fix
for jm-s screwups.
The only thing ppl here find against their rules is multi client ability
and swear filter mod.
So why not get programmers to write a srf no-dc client ?

ive read about em G15s, even though ppl who use this keyboard don't have altered clients, aren't G15s also alters sro in some way? they said u can have the keyboard program to do the buff sequence for your char by pressing only a key, the game is supposed to be played by clicking the skills one by one or by pressing numbers 1-2-3...9-0...

It makes more sense to petition for the removal of the dc on failed login.

For the G15, you preprogram a key to press a set of keys in series. I can do that too with my mouse's 5th button. You might spam less keys, but you're still there sitting in front of the computer pressing keys.

We all know that will never happen.

But isn't that the same thing with the No-DC? Sure you press less keys, but you still press keys don't you?

You cant compare a piece of hardware with a program. They're two different things.

Re: does srf allow people who use no-dc client?
About the macroing in mmo-s.
Lineage2 give up and even implemented ingame macros.
So if it's g15 or any other macro capable keyboard or any macro software it's all the same.
Macroing is done in os/driver level most time.
And no, not always have to press keys, it can be toggled to repeat the same keys/skills,
so only have to select targets with mouse.

G15s macro is based on software, so they're not 2 different things.
