Same. Player bots can be shunned / Dissrespected - Even if they don't give a shit.
But Goldbots .. you can't do fa to them, and THEY are the reason for server traffic. I reckon there's at any one time about 1/3 of a server full of goldbots.
And that's quite sad Joymax.

These are the only things I found that would suggest that botting is illegal, which is too vague really to say one way or another.
Article 2 (Approval of Use Request)
1. Company may approve or disapprove and cancel such approval or agreement at Company's discretion according to the terms and conditions set out below.
① User's registered name is not a real name
② Illegal use of someone else's name (include lineal ascendants/descendants)
③ Omissions and/or misstatement on user application
④ Disapproval resulting from other misconduct of the User
⑤ Misconduct that is offensive to public peace, order, and/or morals
***⑥ Activity deemed as having ad adverse effect on Company's services
⑦ Failure to fulfill any terms and conditions of the Agreement requested by the Company
⑧ Payment of the service fee through the use of others' credit card, wired/wireless phone, or bank account without permission
6. User shall not violate other people's rights by using the services in violation of the public peace and morality.
This Agreement is effective from 10/2, 2007.
So you are correct, they did change the ToS - and from a legal standpoint, this document does not clearly or definitively state that using a third party program (bot) is illegal. However, the ToS states that they may ban accounts at their discretion.
This is the reason Mary Min quit
This is the reason why there have been no ban lists for months
Really... So you are her close personal friend and she told you that?

No, but its not hard to connect the dots. Mary would have known about the ToS they were about to implement. I've spoken with her personally before, and she really did care about banning bots, but she was about the only person making a difference. As soon as she left, all signs of anti-bot measures disapeared. I respected her for trying... I am really angry right now.

haha interesting way to look at it
also i think there will be some form of ban eventually.
the Operational policy is still open ended enough to allow joymax to ban at their discretion. The tos as posted by the thread starter only states that peeps can't bitch about it and that any issue that arise form 3rd party joymax has no obligation to fix. this could mean paypal, or another person on server (ie scammed). It could also, regrettably, mean bot program. The document is very open ended so that joymax covers its ass. you can't really imply what their master plan is from the document :/
or if they have one

Well, i can say that joymax is very smart company, sro is f2p game but they make more money from it when otehr make from p2p.
Sure joymax could ban goldbots, but it's easiest way to fill up servers so ppl buy premiums.
They will ban bots before cap rise.

otter has an account lvl 80 capped, 90 cap comes out and even he must admit he is very excited.
JoyMax bans the botter and he is very mad but still really wants to be there for 90 cap. He might quit for a while, but he will be back at some point.
He comes back, realizes he wants 90 cap NOW and buys gold ticket / premium / SP ticket / etc.
JoyMax just made a ton of $$$

So?.....
Only one difference now....botters wont feel the thrill of breaking the rules as before...
Its a matter of being of the few true people in the game....i wont care about that...we shouldnt just keep teasing ourselves here guys...bots are here and its a fact...if you have the ability to bot and you want to..go on...its just not our side of view so you are out of our community.
I dont think a legal written agreement for a virtual online game will prevent bots that much its like boo-ing them lol, so it doesnt really matter.

This makes a lot of sense. I found out recently that joymax actually actively helps isro bot and 1 other pay to use bot.(sorry forgot the name) They help as in send them updates. This is also true with Powerlevel.com and atleast 1 other major gold bot companies.
In return they get a % of revenue (kick back). Those bots do not get banned.
Only non paying bot companies get banned.
This change allows them at will to pick and choose who they ban and there can be no real legal action to combat it.
I did not post earlier because I have no way to prove it. But the information came from a trusted friend whose relative actually worked for joymax.
Perhaps if anyone knows korean I can get more details to help them verify the information.

Look I didn't post originally because I had no proof. However it fits perfectly with this topic. This allows them to pick and choose who they want to ban/not ban.
It can be proven I am sure. There was a lawsuit against powerlevel.com The problem is I don't know who brought the suit against them. However Since they are a chinese company if anyone knows chinese I am sure there are public records regarding the suit.
The suit was brought by game reviewers or something, but they lost because joymax backed up the goldbuyers.
That is most likely why they had to change the agreement and make botting more legal

Bullshit. The company is not corrupt it's just the iSRO division of Joymax is simply understaffed. They do not have enough GMs to monitor all the servers let alone do it 24/7. It's not like kSRO has some premium bot protection program, they just have a large enough staff to keep banning them. Thats not even considering that our small handful of GMs are hired as office workers not technical support game masters.
The only sad truth about Joymax is that no one will work for a company with two game projects that a free to play. One which may not exist 6 months from now and another is a game that has previously failed. It is a company with zero job security. That in mind we will probably never see a staff able to keep this game bot free and up to date with kSRO.

I would appreciate it if you could prove me wrong. Its not like I enjoy the thought. Do you speak Korean or Chinese?
2Ways to find out. One Track down Joymax mother company and go that route, or 2 trackdown the lawsuit against powerlevel.com
First find out the mother companies perhaps through the name copyrights. Then I don't know exactly what to do from there.
Anyone know how to track down international lawsuits? I assume the game reviewers weren't chinese.

OK nuff said.

Sounds like (from the movie spaceballs)
Dark Helmet: Before you die there is something you should know about us, Lone Star.
Lone Starr: What?
Dark Helmet: I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate.
Lone Starr: What's that make us?
Dark Helmet: Absolutely nothing! Which is what you are about to become.
And for the record, but I've got no way to prove it, unless you get on ventrilo, but then there's no way to prove that it's ACTUALLY me speaking. I do speak Korean and Chinese. But, I doubt Joymax will change iSRO because I can.
