Bot User List and Punishment Notice 12/18
It's funny, they always ban one or two known bots and then tons of bots noone has ever seen. How many bots have been exposed on here, or how many bots are at just the sonars on athens(about 10 everynight). If we can see them, why can't they? Why can't they ban the ones who openly admits to botting? Oh well, thats exactly why I have stopped buying silk. I'm Just gonna hunt,trade, and buy/sell items until they fix the bot problem. I am not gonna scream at anyone, it's just that they have lost 20 bucks a month from me. I will pass the time getting gold and having fun instead of hand grinding my ass off just to get passed by entire guilds full of bots. In games like World of Warcraft, you dont have this problem, sure there are bots, but they are different because people dont have 20+ gold bots running around just to make them money FROM A FREE GAME. You dont have noobs calling everyone else noobs and racist names, because you have to pay to play. God I wish silkroad was Pay to play, oh wait, it was for me

Well I probably should start a new post for this rather than having it buried on page 3+ of another thread but anyway.
Everyone wonders why no high lvl bots get reported. Personally I think the answers are easy.
1. Most higher lvl non bots have had their spirits crushed by the botting. Ask yourself how often do you report bots and even dare I say it "re-report" bots? I went around asking many of my higher lvl friends etc about it. There was only one that even really reported. And he said he only ever did it once a week or was it once a month. He could not really remember. And honestly I have not done stellar either.
2. There are less people at higher lvl to care and report. All the nub bots in jangan are thick but many don't make it. One of the big reasons for that I think is that at that lvl there are (a) more people who are optimistic enough to report hoping for a ban. And (b) just more people in general. It is kind of a survival of the fittest setup. (or maybe just dumb luck) But only the smarter botters tend to survive and make it to higher lvls where the people they displace have given up about caring.
Basically it comes down to "you need to report or stop bitching". And not just report once. Report weekly at minimum. I have made a list of names and descriptions of bots I screen shot in game. I report them weekly. And repeatedly untill their name pops up on a ban list or I have not seen them for a good loooooooooooooooooooooooong time. SEVE1 - 8 was one of those situations. They got 5 & 6 in the last ban and finally got the last two in this ban. So now I can scratch that series of bots off the list. And devote more space to reporting the guys new bot series. I think it is like SEVWE something.
I am investigating somehow sending video evidence as well. Chinatown guild is chock full of them. But somehow none of their bots ever get banned. (Though I did get video of one or two of their members sexing up the trees out in the yeti the other day.) Just gotta figure out how to get the video edited and posted someplace like youtube where the names are clear and readable. Then all we need are a few others to do it per server and post links anonymously to sites etc where they and those that still care enough can report to JM. If enough people spam them with unmistakable visual proof the whole disconnect when GM is around thing will be pointless.

My comments
1. The list is mostly gold botters because low level nub's spend all their time reporting gold botters that piss them off while they train. Not realizing its pointless; there are thousands of them and gold botting accounts can be re-created the same day. They saturate the bot report page with 95% of the reports being gold botters. This is a huge waste of the GM's time spent. It would make more sense to ban the 64+ bots with glorious gear, infinite money and godly weapons than some dumb gold bot in Jangan.
GM does NOT need nub's reporting gold bots. They are just as capable as seeing them as you are. They can go to the ferries / bugs / chakja / heocheons / bunwangs / ice and see them just as well as you can.
2. It has been clearly stated before that screenshots, links, fraps or video evidence is not analyzed in the bot reports. A name, and a server is all Joymax wants to see. Then they investigate by teleporting to that player ( if, they are online, and if they are training, instead of being in town, AFK or doing jobs.) Most of which, dumb gold bots. (see response one) This is clearly the case with people like Spiritpower and others, who have many screenshots against them. Yet they are not considered and nothing is done.
I would say most 'bot reports' they teleport to are: Not online, Doing jobs, Standing in town, Stalling items or Botting for gold.
3. High level bots are not banned because of response 1. We see a 70 player botting in the caves, kicking peoples ass in jobs, decked out in full SOS. Joymax sees a name. One name they have never seen before among names of hundreds of gold bots and lowbie bots. Example, look at the banlist for one of the servers you are not on. I wouldn't know if any of those are 64+, and neither does Joymax.
The nub's don't get the big picture yet. They see one gold bot KS their tiger and get pissed 'god damn botters' and hit the bug report page. Then get upset when they dont see bot 'ahskfj' on the bot ban list.
......Hee hee. They should appreciate the gold bots. They draw fire from wack NPC thieves that lost their target. ^_^

So you are saying that anyone under level 64 shoudn't even bother reporting bots? That we should all wait until the bots level up enough to bother the high levels in the caves and then report them?
Because after all ... what does it matter if the low levels are bothered by being ks'ed over and over at the tigers, chakis, flowers, black robbers, yeowas, etc ?

I don't think it's low levels that are reporting gold bots that gets them banned. They are inexperienced and would hardly be likely to invest the time to report gold botters. On GREECE, there is hardly a soul at hyungcheon let alone players to report bots.
The 64+ legit players know all about bots and reporting and I'm sure no other level range of players has as much frustration from bots than 64+, I'd wager the most reports come from level 64+. But then again half are bots lol.
They GM's waste precious time if they actually warped to reported characters that may be idle or not-botting. All they have to do is walk through the game, GM's will see 100's. SRO is FILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLED with bots, if GM's are seroius about taking care of bots, they could easily triple the bot ban list. Reporting botters is a waste of your time as you can see you'd be lucky to get even one 64+ bot.
