If he's playing a quad build perfectly then I have nothing to say about it. However, with a dual build (also depends on the build) you can in fact keep up with a macro. The only factor that changes is persistence. Even a highly skilled player will end doing a mistake while weapon switching in a long fight. A macro won't. I guess that's what you tried to explain.

A macro would be nice for pressing space+number at once for a fast weapon switch, but I could just as easily do it myself...

Or maybe..

ctrl+1
healing cycle
auto hunting

Win?

How lazy can a person a be? This game is already pretty laid back and some people still need help from keyboard macro when dueling..

if you are talking about few warrior/clerics out there that actually know what they are doing then i have to dissapoint you they are doing it all themselves a lil "skill" is needed in this game after all.

think the only macro user i have seen that actually has control over his char/macro is la_va that n30 is just a noob indeed.

Do you remember LAva's guild page? I lost the link year or 2 ago?

~ EDIT ~

NVM Found it, thanks.

If you found it did you notice the sponsoring? or advertisement there was on that website about hardware based macro tools? been a while since i visited that site but was amazed he wasnt using software based macro tools but hardware one. there are certain keyboards that are programmable to do those macros but as most noticed they not as fast as la_va example, there are special hardware tools you can buy in Korea (have not seen them here in the Netherlands yet and most seemed to be only Korean brands)

But real skill can be seen as a macro good china example is the earlier posted vid of hacyu few good warrior movies on good control he learned it from the best but managed to take it to another level http://www.youtube.com/user/enforceraw (believe he is also on SRF too)

I don't agree.. if you play your character in pvp for hours upon hours the mistakes are going to become less and less, until they are none. Practice makes perfect~
These two warriors have been accused of using macro's both on youtube on in their servers.. do they? Nope.

They were posted a while ago.. assuming they continued they probably have mastered the build even more.

Indeed I agree with you, but I did point out that they only make mistakes on long fights. If you're PvPing for a long time, say for 3 hours during FW, there's moments you might lose concentration and do a small mistake (obviously for a very skilled player this will be rare).

If you are gonna sit there and state that the "consistency" of a human being vs that of a program that macros is equal then there is no need to respond to your post after this. "Pratice makes perfect"?! Didn't know that saying is still in use. There is no such thing as perfection when it comes to human beings.

Like I said it doesn't matter how skilled you are. You can never be as consistent as a macro program with weapon switching. You can practice to become even 99% but there is a % chance of you making a mistake while switching weapons vs the macro's chance of making a mistake which is 0%

u cant outcase wizzies, cant kill GOOD warlocks, xbow is too long range, blader heals in time (so can some glaviers) and warriors or any other buffed euro rapes. try it.

2. using a macro is cheating, whether its pvp grinding or whatever. its not how the GAME wants you to play (macro for buff is an exception, it doesnt help you out at all)

they mean pure force nukers are a easy build because u only have to press 1 2 3 and maybe 4.

i dont use a macro, BUT i dont see how it is cheating.

iv never used or seen how a macro works, but im guessing its when u press one button and it types some thing that u set it to type. If you can set it on a timer to press 1 2 3 4 for you and u only have to click on the mob.. i guess thats just like botting.
If so i take back my first opinion about it and agree with you, it is cheating.

Mmm, I don't use macros for pvp (easier to do by hand), but I do use them to grind sometimes. I don't see how having a macro press 1-2-3 for you is botting? You still have to be at the pc..you have to press the macro..you have to click the mob.. you have to repot.. you have to run to your grind spot/party.. you have to stop the macro to chat.. etc. I use them to grind, maybe it will prolong the inevitable carpal tunnel. lol. I paid $80 for this G15 "gaming" keyboard, and I use it to game.

I also have a Razer Diamondback mouse that can do macros. I've never taken the time to set any up though.

/death of thread.

i mean by pressing one button it just spams 1 2 3 4 for like 3 hours.. u dont have to press it again, all u have to do it click on the mob.

It's all irrelevant. Ultimately what a macro program is doing is simply executing a sequence of skills without any real knowledge of what is actually happening. Of course, the person using the macro makes less of an effort to play, but does it really matter? A sequence of skills will be executed whether it be through macro or manually. What exactly is the problem here? The program and the human will both have the same limitations the game imposes, no matter how consistent or inconsistent either are. The skills will take the same amount of time to load, and the weapon switching will be either a miss or a fail. I would think if you're fighting someone who is macro'ing you would learn their skill sequence and find a way to counter their attacks. o,O This really isn't that big of an issue as you make it out to be. Now, if someone somehow found a way to speed up their skill loading time, then it would be a problem.

those videos did have simple weapon set ups, and noticing the way they paused some times before spamming the next skill it did seam dileberate a macro would try to blase the skill right away. Now some are obviously macroed weapon switching, there are ones on youtube its quite obvious if you see, they switch f bars and magicly sheild and sword every time. Though i didn't see any of that you're now in the state of being unable to ... when they were weapon switching at all, the 2nd video i'm more inclined to not believe macro the 1st one is possible either way.

still its sad that people feel the need to macro their pvp. its like ok you pay for premium and pay for a bot, so you're skipping the grinding of the game, and you a macro to fight your pvp for you, you don't go jobbing and you don't go to ctf. Why are they even playing the game if they aren't going to play any part of it? paying 40 dollars a month to not play the game, i dont' get it

Wow... this thread has just turned into a giant whine fest. Seriously... Macroing does shit for you, isn't going to give you any sort of extreme edge, and surely isn't cheating.

Besides, who gives a shit if using a G15 is legit? There will always be somebody that has an edge over you unless you are willing to spend the cash. It's life, deal with it.

I have a mx518 also, use the side buttons for every game except SRO.. didn't know you could - that's not what a macro is though. What this topic is talking about is pressing one key which presses a series of keys for you.

anyway, how do you use those buttons in sro anyway?

it takes me 1 second to type my ID/PASS then press enter.. dont see why u need a macro... with the risk of pressing it ingame while chatting.

if it seriously takes you that little time to type in ur ID and PW, than they suck and you risk being hacked. My ID and PW are both 12 random characters long (my account email information is even longer and more complex). I did this after a friend of mine got hacked for having an easy ID. And i dont buy premiums so i do have to play the login game.

Anyway... Some people buy silks and get premium+scrolls+spirit
Others buy expensive keyboards that allow them to be better at pvp (note: these keyboards are not only for "better sro pvp" if someone buys them only for that = BIG F... LOL)

You dont use set point software? You use a third party program to assign keystrokes to the buttons on the mouse.

For sro "9" and "0" keys
