You cannot be "keylogged" through the exchange window, end of discussion on that.

Exploited through exchange, possibly, but I HIGHLY doubt it.

Max amount of gold you can use through exchange is 100m. Max for stall's is 999,999,999.

And lol @ the keylogger through exchange.

BladeSkillz wrote:Today is a really f'd up day. I worked out a deal with SonofGods on Alexander server to purchase his seal of sun 2 hand sword.

It took about an hour to arrange the deal; but we came to a reasonable agreement.

I would give him my sun 64 sword and sun 64 shield then he would stall the sun 2 hand for 970m and I would buy it.

Well, mind you we talked for several hours before going through with the deal. He told me about himself and I told him about myself. He sounded like a really down to earth guy. He said he was 28 years old and lived in the UAE. We both have been playing for many years and we agreed that scamming is just something neither of us could ever do to someone, stranger or friend.

Well I decided to go against the better of my judgment, and I decided to trust him. I handed him my suns and then, he opened his stall, I went inside, then poof. Window closed, his character logs off. I tried to keep my hopes up that maybe he really did just get d/c'd and there is server traffic, but I knew I was just deluding myself. I waited for about an hour just to be sure.

Well I guess thats goodbye to my favorite two items I ever had. Not a tremendous value loss but definitely a large sentimental one. My faith in the silkroad community and the game itself is dead now. I don't feel like wasting my time anymore with this game.

So this is goodbye, at least for now. Thanks for the great discussion postings SRF. Thanks for everyone that supported my build.

Peace out.

I think everyone should face his community with a somewhat discerning view...

Well sorry about your stuff man, i could go on saying you deserved it or weren't cautious enough
but that is just sad.
Have fun in your SRO break sir

I ONLY exchange with people I know (union/guild), after nearly getting keylogged from an exchange. The incident I was involved in was your typical noob. Half the time, lower lvl people go around exchange spamming people and then putting in some low lvl drop item, or a pot or something... you know, then expecting you to pay them for it, typically much more than the item is worth.

Well, this happened to me. Some random guy exchanged, and I accepted; I have had several experiences where some random person will exchange you and then give you a whole bunch of stuff, so I always kept exchange on, and would accept exchange invitations... in the off chance that might happen ^^

Not sure why, but I was suspicious of the guy - the moment the exchange window opened... well, my computer lagged more than usual. So, I go to the system processes (ctl alt del, I do it frequently when Im playing SRO, my computer isnt the best so I try to end processes I dont need. I am familiar with typical system processes) only to find a blatantly obvious keylogging process... it was labeled something that gave it away, I forget what. Anyway, I quickly closed the exchange window after ending the process and turned off exchange request in the options.

Needless to say - I rarely accept trades from people I dont know, and changed my PW just to be safe.

I haven't really seen anything like that since then (it was maybe 8 months to a year ago.)

On topic - heh. Never trust anyone in game. Learned that a few times the hard way myself (albeit, not with nearly 1.5-2bil worth of stuff.)

if you dont like rants skip down

ask around its not did you ever think the keylogger was there before exchange before you started running sro, to do what your saying isnt possible without editing your sro_client on your computer even then sro coding is strange, editing a keylogger in to it would be almost impossible, only the joymax dev team could do it even then what they crap out isnt very convincing, so making a keylogger jump from computer to server to another computer is just absurd and if you could make it to server you wouldnt go for another computer from server you could do much more.

sorry for rant

on topic: yeah it was your fault as said before you should have trade 3 items 3rd worth 800+mil i do feel sorry for you suck it happpened on Alexander (my server)
i am not creative enough to have created a sig yet.

I'm quite sure you think it happened to you. Infact I'm positive.

But we all know it didn't, because ... well to put it quite bluntly, it's impossible. And lol at the 'typical keylogger process'. Since when do keyloggers have TYPICAL processes ? If they did then anti-virus companies would have won that battle ages ago. Pfft.
