It doesn't. However, if a person uses the program to get to a later point in the game so he/she can play the later parts of the game such as FW, or jobbing, than that is when they actually play. It's unfair for us as legits who must do this by hand, but it happens. We as legits want to play the entire game, botters just wanna play the end game. I still see both as playing, just simply one is taking a correct and legit route while the other is cheating.

This wouldn't happen of course if JM simply actually banned botters. People wouldn't have to be capped to stand a chance at jobbing and FW, and ppl wouldn't have to bot for that reason. If JM actually banned botters, than the only reason for botting remaining would be that they are selfish and want to own everyone else no matter what, or that they want to see the final skills (in which case pk2 would be an easier way).

I've read all the posts in this thread. I didn't reply to your post because you didn't bring anything new to this "discussion". LoL, you can't srsly take the current bans as actual bot bans. Like I said, this is just a front to lure possible new players. They see these weekly ban and think that JM is actually doing something. Once they're hooked to the game, they realize there's not gonna be a change. How would it look to the gaming community if when someone interviews you, you have to say, "No, we have never banned bots, we let them do as they please since we're incapable of doing shit."

Not very good. So they do these automated bans. They get rid of spambots allowing them to say that they are trying to actively get rid of cheaters while in actuality, they just sit back and collect the cash. There are approximately 5 spambots per city. There are 5 cities. That comes out to about 25 per server. There's about 2000-3000 bots banned per week. Take 1000 away from that meaning only 1000-2000 bots banned each week. Seems like a lot right? Wrong. The top academies often use clientless bots so they can retain their status. I know for a fact that half of the newbies at ongs are clientless being run solely for academy points. I'll only say that about 50 of those bots are clientless and have no prem or silk of any kind. That comes out to about 2000 bots. These numbers fluctuate per week, but you see where they get the numbers from. I'm pretty sure in some cities, you can have 10-15 spam bots. Not to mention the current afk players that are stuck inside the walls.

These bans are nothing. They are just trying to make it seem like they are against botting so they can save face in the public. If you don't see that, than I feel deeply sorry for you.

hahaha, stop using "jobbing" as an excuse. Does it even exist? If yes, how active is it? Ever heard about a dead server? How many trader, even the noob 1*, do you see in a day? And FW, one time per 2 weeks? So bot to the cap just for playing a time each 2 weeks? LOL

Do you see bots in vSRO and kSRO as much as in iSRO? No. Do ppl in these versions need a bot to be capped? No. Do they need to be capped to enjoy the game? No. Are they low lvl but still enjoy the game? Yes.

Back to 2-3 years ago, I enjoyed the game even though i was only lvl 40-50. I pvp and i can still do job, rob low lvl, 1* pop. Ofc, i can't win high lvl but i enjoyed pvping with ppl same or lower lvl. I have no rush in leveling so i know that someday, i'll reach their lvl and can fight them. So tell me, why it's a must that you need to be capped in 2-3 months, when it's not likely that the game will shut down in 1 year! You still have 3 or more years to play this game, or even your whole life!

Good luck with judging real life issues such as abortion, insane pleads for murder trials, and more. Life is rarely black and white. For an issue like this where so many are to blame, it's hardly a black and white issue. Sure you can sit there and say bot = bad, legit = good, but are they really that extreme? I personally could care less who is botting and who is a legit. As long as I can make friends with them and we can hang out, It's cool. At this point in the game when botting is so rampant, I don't know why people are so rawr botters die anymore. Sure SRF is a haven for legits, but do you have to be so anal whenever someone gets caught botting or admits to it? Someone could solve all the formulas for SRO and determine which build is best for which character, but the moment they say they're a botter, you would all turn face and start saying how bad they were. Assumptions? Hardly. Like I said, doesn't take anyone with an IQ over a 3rd grader to realize that these bot bans are shit. Yes there is a diff between bots. There are clientless bots which are easy as **** to detect and playerbots who have been botting publicly for years and have clear evidence for their botting and are not banned. I don't know about you, but yes, I do cherish my main character as he is the only one I have and I have many fond memories playing that character. All my friends know me as that name and I have friends over 4 years on that account. I know if I bot, I prob won't get caught, but since that is my only main, I am not going to risk it. That does not mean that I think I will get caught. I srsly doubt it. Its just that I cherish it too much to sell or risk it in any way, no matter how small. I also don't see the need to bot as I already have 300/300 skill mastery masked and I don't feel like collecting the curse hearts necessary and farm 300k sp to re-do my skills.

Every botter I knew was not afraid of bot bans at all. Why? Because of how Joymax runs their game. You spend 20-$30 on a premium, you are safe for another month. Joymax set that precedence, the community picked up on it and exploited it. Jymax needs to fix their shit before anything can happen.

Doesn't one version like...offer you a bot past a certain point? You can't compare iSRO to other SRO versions. Other versions are completely dead compared to iSRO. Their communities are a thousand times smaller than ours. Obviously if you have a smaller community, there is less likely of a chance that shit will get out of hand.

First, kSRO is dead i agreed. It's dead because less players play it. But i prefer iSRO to be that way instead of being dead by the hands of bots.
Second, arguments such as "have no time to play" (when 90% baby-sit), "hate to smash key again and again" (when 100% of MMORPG is smashing keys to use skills), "needed to be cap to enjoy" are all false. Why? Coz in other version of sro is the best example, ppl choose to play to game themself and still enjoy the game at any level. Although there are GMs, but they are not strict, they don't ban bots 100%. And yes, they are all aware that cheating will make them God, but not everyone is asshole to turned to bot. How about iSRO? At the time when GM Crayon and ladyasiana were still there, the bans can't make them fear and ppl choose to turn themself to bot.

People choose to play, but in iSRO, during the days of Crayon, there were nowhere near as many bots as there are now. The bot problem skyrocketed when GM's were removed from this game. It may be true that people in other versions of SRO chose to play correctly, and are nearly empty. However, this is iSRO, if there were 10 botting assholes on kSRO, as a multiple nation game, iSRO would have 1000 assholes to deal with. The international factor also makes assholes more prevalent once racial supremacist starts being thrown in.

They made my SRO experience more fun honestly. They would turn off their bots and we'd run a special goods trade run just for fun. At one point, we were all in the top 10 Traders/Hunters. Good times back then, good times.

I was simply responding to what silo said about how assholes bot in xSRO, but in iSRO, we have alot more competition to go to cap due to multiple races playing the game. I know from personal experience that country guilds and unions start popping up with more and more tension between them.


I thought of another example of the botting problem. Take Counter-Strike for example. Everyone knows that hacking and auto-aim bots are against the rules. However, if you ever go into a non-VAC secure server, you better have a faster comp with auto-aim bots or else you'll just get anally raped over and over until you leave the server. Everyone knows that botting is against JM's TOS, but seeing as they don't enforce it, people take advantage of it making it a common thing such as hacks on non-vacs.

It goes both ways. Atm peer pressure pushes people to bot since you have all accepted it as a valid alternative.

I think it also depends on which server you play on. If I played on Venus or some other server, sure I could use peer pressure since the players in control are Legits. I can say, look at how strong legits are, come join us, it's fun and we get to pt together all the time. For an old server like mine with a population of like 10-20 legits left, what would I offer to convince them? Join me, we can be poor together as we grind slowly to cap with the 4 of us? Peer pressure only works when you actually have a group to push your point.

Which is why I told you we failed. I fought it till the day I quit while many of you rolled over instantly. Funny you all seem to consider venus something new and unique. Venus is neither. Venus was modeled after the original servers circa 60 cap maybe early 70 cap. Botters were outcast or pariah till they quit or stopped botting. Had you all actually worked for something perhaps things would be better today. But as I said the servers you have are the servers you deserve. Enjoy them. Lol if you can.

If we go back to the original botting problem, there was peer pressure on both sides. Legits had the excuse of the fun to grinding to cap as well as the knowledge that they can't be banned. Botters had the excuse of being capped with fully farmed skills with the risk of being banned. Than JM just stopped caring. Botters now knew that their odds of being banned were slim to none. I've seen people spam globals calling JM pussies for not banning them. They are still here. That probably puts a lot more peer pressure on players seeing as they have the option of botting, still hang out with friends, as well as being ff and capped and rich.

It was not the fact that joymax just stopped caring that emboldened them. It was the fact that joymax just stopped caring that made you give up trying to support a legitimate community. And look where it got you.

Once again, a game is made to be played. You have the choice to play it however you want. I can choose to play l4d the way it's intended. Or I can run around griefing, or i can run around and spam build models and trap people. HEll, I can even glitch ppl out and cause them to crash on their comp if it's fun for me. A game is meant to be fun. As long as you're having fun, you're doing it right.

False MMO is about community of a sorts. If you are spaming and griefing you are doing it wrong end of story. There are all sorts of ways to have fun antagonism etc without having to resort to juvenile tactics like griefing. Ways in which everyone can have fun. Not just the selfish griefer.

Also, I'm aware botting is cheating. I just don't care if someone bots. That's the person I am though. I'll make friends with just about any one. I played on Hera, which is very populated by Turks. I was always the one in the guild who would sit there South DW trying to learn a little bit of Turkish with one of the main Turk botters.

People choose to play, but in iSRO, during the days of Crayon, there were nowhere near as many bots as there are now. The bot problem skyrocketed when GM's were removed from this game. It may be true that people in other versions of SRO chose to play correctly, and are nearly empty. However, this is iSRO, if there were 10 botting assholes on kSRO, as a multiple nation game, iSRO would have 1000 assholes to deal with. The international factor also makes assholes more prevalent once racial supremacist starts being thrown in.

Also, I'm aware botting is cheating. I just don't care if someone bots. That's the person I am though. I'll make friends with just about any one.

I never once got hacked either if that's what you're implying. You just avoided the question completely by dismissing the point I was trying to make. You might distinguish between botting and other forms of cheating, but I believe the biggest reason botters don't go all the way (and do other forms of cheating) is because most don't know how. Given that there is a known security leak, I bet you that people who have cheated before (botting) would be more than happy to jump at the first opportunity to try it out and take advantage of it. Cheating is still cheating.
