Should we all put our char names in our sigs?

Most of you take the bot thing too seriously, do you play for fun or do you feel to have fun everyone should do the right thing? I do hate it when people hide their ign lvl and skills. I'm always intersted in knowing what a certain persons build is so it's sort of annoying when they blur it out IMO

I like keeping my build a secret? =)

I don't think we need to have our names in our sigs, but I do think that it is stupid to blur out your name in a ss. Blurring out your skills and stuff is fine because you might have a good skill setup or want your build to be a secret. There really is no reason to blur out names.

@Joey I know the options are retarded but rather than just say they perhaps you should offer up some other options instead.

They are retarded because I really do not understand at all why you would not want people to know who you are in game. The only valid point someone brought up was the hacking issue however if you used common sense you would not put any vital personal information in your profile for people to see.

I did not intend this thread to be a catalyst for change and suddenly an enforcement of this rule be in place. I would rather it be a catalyst for common sense.

Why make a thread showing a screenshot of yourself doing something and then not tell the server name or your char name or details or anything?

I played other games prior to sro and I also play cabal concurrently. But in all other forums for other mmo's I never see the ridiculous behaviour that is portrayed here.

My character name is not in my sig, but anyone with half a brain can figure out at least one of them.

Yes, I have had people PM me once they recognize me in-game, and while it has not been that much of a problem, it could be for other people, thus their reluctance to put in a character name.

Here's another possibility: Some people might use the same name on a variety of forums and don't need stalkers. I am already exposing my IP address to the mods, I trust the mods to do their job. But I don't need someone else putting 2 + 2 together and finding my exact home location (easily doable with an IP and a first or last name).

Screenshots: Another issue entirely, I side with you on that one, but won't force it.

I see where your got the idea for this topic and in that case i completely agree, when people want to brag about their levels at least be man enough to show your nick.

Fhe first day i linked a char to my SRF account problems started, so no thanks but for every attention screaming poster out there should post their nick too. (talking especially about all those anonymous 1million sp farmers and the level 90 people)

with the information that rev6 now gives out, I dont think anyone has any gear secrets, except for jewels. there are only so many builds you can make, so no secret there. humm doesnt leave much to have secrets about in game, unless your a scammer or something, thats not listed on rev6 lol

common decency? common etiquette? showing ur ign doesn't do that one bit. it's what u post and how u post that applies those. showing ur ign is entirely a personal matter that doesn't effect neone else but urself, it means u either trust every1 to not bother u, or u want to show off ur character.
