however, just look at who is joining this private server. make a survey if u like, i think its safe to say that everyone has more than enough expereicne to know what the bomb will do.

if botting problems arise, i think i will not be the only one who purchase massive amounts of bombs and own the botters. (seeing half the botters in isro spam light nukes)

ok for the sake of argument lets put it at 3 options

1 : play iSRO.
2 : play the current server.
3 : wait for someone to create a better emu.

ok...option 1 : we all know, and have personally experienced the problems with option one, ages to level, full servers, KSing bots, @sshole players, etc etc etc....I am not looking forward to going back there.

Option 2 : now, I, as good as anyone else here know that the quick Exp/Sp is tempting, and even fun. I haven't had the amount of fun im having grinding up the private server ever since my early 3Xs in eldorado, and that was looooong ago, but again, lets face it, bots are supported......heck encouraged ( they make the creators money, lets face it i played on a WoW server where i was a gm and i saw the income the admin made from donations, and let me tell you. It was quadruple the amount needed ot run the server.). the creators seem to hate us, and the server isn't even in our language..............But at the moment, this is by far(to me) the best option.


option 3 : This is probably by far, the best option when the emu is created, but lets face it. The creators of another server will not hand out thier emu. They are the ONLY ones that have it, the ones that literally EVERYONE who wants a private server will come to. Not to mention they are making money from it.


So where does it leave us?
well i see it this way, I am sure as **** not going back to the bot-infested, impoosible-to-log-into server unless neccisary (over-seas ip's are banned from the other server or it is shut down), And i am not sitting here just waiting and hoping, so for me, Option 2 it is!!! and let me say, i feel i made a good choice, im loving SRO again.

I haven't joined the bandwagon, if i had the first thing i would of brought up was the fake fly getting banned. I have as much respect for JM as i have for the bugs i crush beneath my feet, but their rules, albeit not well enforced, i will adhere to. Especially international Copyright Laws. Also you missed what i was pointing out, but meh.

Just because the company supports it doesn't mean the people playing do. So until you catch someone saying "OMG YAY I CAN BOT WITHOUT HARASSMENT THERE LOOK AT ME SRF IM BOTTING", there's no reason to hide it imo. You never would have said such a thing anyway if you weren't under pressure of fitting into the mod mold.

Have you played the new server, or are you just saying what everyone else has said? The exp/sp has been fixed, how much you get IS dependent on your gap yes, but there's no real strain or shortage if you 0 gap. You level so much faster, and it's more fun to grind. I'd say give it a try, but I'm not sure if i'd get banned for it or not? Lame. If playing the private server and talking about it is bot support (indirect I assume is what you're saying) then wouldn't playing iSRo be bot support as well? I'm seeing a little failed logic on your part, Barotix.

i dont read all the replies but here is my opinion... if the official server is good enough a private server doesnt will do any problem to the official one... look to Lineage 2, more than 500~700 private servers online, (my brother created one, but only for friends, because we dont have a nice computer) and the Lineage 2 is one of the best MMORPG's of the world in my opinion... the official servers are full and the NCSoft inst poor because the private servers, the private servers of Lineage 2 are not in the same version of the official but in my opinion this dont make importance i think.

This private server is a waste of time.
Just wait for the next private servers, from ppl that can speak english and eventually an emu will be released.
Then someone nice will be able to run a server where not everybody can play, no bots are alllowed, everybody's even and can have a great gameplay as long as they arent tards/bot/hackt.

not really i found myself alot of the times out of sp even with sp being x10
( im farming now lawl) or i think i can 2 gap all the way not sure heck my light is till 12 and im 3X-,- i heard 9d sun drop rates aren't high the x10exp which i think is fine or even x15exp but the sp gotta change defentley i will say x20 sp is fine gold drop is good as well as other drops not hard to made gold which if it was hard i wouldn't even last 1 min in the server also we start regular with no exp no gold no sp

we are not trying to shut down discussion on all private servers. nor are we prohibiting posting the links to test out other private servers, should any come to exist. just this one. it's partially because, like you cautioned Barotix in your post, people shouldn't believe everything they read. many users who are too naive to know the difference will just blindly switch to this server because it's "NOT JM", and some may even unknowingly dump money into the server owner's corrupted pockets without knowing all the info available.

it's not censorship, it's taking a stand against an entity that we feel is corrupt and has the potential to corrupt SRF users in the process. perhaps my announcement thread wasn't clear on this point; i will edit it to reflect that sentiment more exactly.

EDIT: upon re-reading the thread, i can understand why some people misinterpreted our intent. it was poorly worded on my part. i hope the updated version clears up any misunderstandings.

put the blame where it should be, its not the bots, its JM. They and they alone have ruined this game by being a bunch of greedy, corrupt hypocrites.

Joymax might not be doing a great job of controlling the bot situation, but the problem really IS the community. Specifically, the gold buyers that keep these companies in business to run their gold bots. Stop buying gold, and the gold bots will go away. Stop paying for bots, and the bot companies will start to fade.

These "cheat" companies are there because people in our community use them. Joymax can do everything possible to try and stop them, but they will keep coming back if people keep using their services.

As for private servers, I agree with whoever it was above that said you're just moving a problem from one place to another. People will go on the private servers, get their 10x experience, ask for power level, buy gold, and probably even bot. There will likely be better, more active GMs on there, but the problems will remain.

All the above doesn't matter either way because of the simple fact that private servers are illegal.

Well Private Servers are good for a laugh But its still Not a Retail / Offical Server. so even you do get to 80 on it , you still wont be an offcial 80 becasue in all private servers some sort of Experince per kill has been tweaked , Drop rate is tweaked , Something! Is Changed and you will never be an offical 80 , Sure on this Chineese Private Server the 10x the Normal EXP But then you will never be a Real Capped Player. So i dont see the point , Sure it maybe better moderate and bots are NonExsistent(Excluding this one) but whats the point if the soul objective of this game is become lvl 80 and its been modified so you can reach it eaiser.

Thens theres the likley hood of this being closed down , ive done a few searches on google and found no result of Silkroad Onlines Game Engine being "Open source" (Free To use without Copyright)They Either built there own Which i think STILL infringes copyright cause there copying there game Or the souce code for silkroad online has been stolen!. Now that presents a proplem.

Sometimes i dont understand if some ppl actually enjoy suffering/wasting money..
So lets see, a private server came out, it is beeing ran by some nice ppl, that sell all silk items for gold.
30x xp rate 50x sp rate
only chinese, you can't be immune to ice, no seals but there's alchemy.
Lvl 90/100 skills up to dated.
No hackers/botters, and you could get to the cap in two weeks only playing 1 hour a day, imagine this aight?
Every lvl 80 doing those job wars, big ass trades trying to be stolen from thieves, loads of guilds wars, gm's hold events.
Players could make up events, and there could exist like, monster massacre events [Gm events] or PvP tournies, or do PvP like guildwars with capes and stuff like that (i think you get the point).
Barely no lag and no dc's, Perfect sro.


So, from what your saying, i cant freaking believe honestly.
You'd rather pay twice or even more that you'd pay for any other "elite" mmorpg, to play in such a shitty and farked up community, poor server management, no gm's, lots of hackers/botters, gold buying, no events.

And if the cap is lvl 100, then..omg even better! So many uniques, pawnage.

You know, if you're capped, and you have a group of ppl playing with you, there are so many things you can do if you actually have some imagination, its incridible! You don't even need to be capped for that, just have a group of friends that play when u play and that all of you are close to each other in levels, and you can have great fun.
You just cant job right, because 80/90/100's will always own yer ass, but seeing as getting 80/90/100 shouldnt be hard AT ALL on a private server, you shouldnt be worried ^^, but imagining you play on official servers..

But if you dont have any irl friends that play sro, and you play on the official servers, its just a pain in the arse to find a comunity where you can feel like that (good and hf even if ur not low lvl), i feel proud i found some and been in some comunity's like that couple times!

Beeing on a private server would just allow those times to come back! And everyone to be able to play in such a good sro envornment together!

Oh and i almost forgot, if you alredy have some capped friend and he wants to help you reach the cap asap, that'd be like oh em gee lol (Keep in mind that i'm not suggesting having a server full of powerlvl beggers, im just talking about a friend trying to help another, and supposly there wont be beggers since gm's should be able to control and know the people that join the server or not, if they're tards or not, beggers or not or if they hack)
