botter powerlevelling players
other player powerlevelling players
powerlevelling yourself(your plvler being legit of course)

i'll judge it by looking at the powerleveller. first way is obviously wrong and equal to powerlevelling, 3rd is the same as grinding yourself so you must be a nut to think it's botting. As for the 2nd way it's more of whether the powerleveller is willing to do it. i wouldn't consider it botting.

Anyone who thinks of power leveling being the same thing as botting, needs to get their head examined.

It depends on how it's done. If you get in an 8-man grind party with a few lvl 80s and go out grinding on somewhat higher lvl mobs that YOU can actually fight... and you actually help fight them, then no, it's not like botting because you're still playing your character.

However, if you just sit on a rudolph tracing a lvl 80, and go afk to watch a movie or go to school while the lvl 80 power levels you, how is that not like botting? True, it's a real person giving you exp, but you're getting the exp without actually being there to do anything to help.

It's lazy.

Here's my honest opinion... Don't ask the srf forums. There's too many morons floating around here that advicate that buying silk makes you nonlegit. So, just do what you want. If you want to plvl your character do it. If you ask, you'll have the same morons telling you that plvling is on par with worshipping satan and touching little boys for self-gratification. Topics such as these are all based on your opinion. If you plvled your character to 80 and don't have a problem with it, than you should do it. If you don't like the idea, then don't. [I swear... this stupid issue should be discussed right next to abortion while we're at it. People are on both sides of the fence, and argueing doesn't get anybody anywhere.]

That's what I'd like to know. I don't buy silk myself, but it's perfectly fine that others choose to do so. If I had extra cash laying around, I'd consider buying some to get a monkey at least, but all my money goes to bills and supporting my wife and daughter.

Normal leveling = Playing it with your own char.

I can agree that power leveling is not the same as botting, but it gives the same result. Both ways, there are characters on the server that are gaining exp without actually playing the game.
