the silly part of this whole botting discussion is the "get a life comments"
you choose to handgrind or not it is not my business but stop talking about that you have a real life while most of the bots especially the higherlevel do babysit there are a couple who really got a life and those are usually banned anyway.

Playing video games is an escape from daily life, you choose to get out of life and go online so it actually means you are escaping reality and seeking another kind of pleasure by going online.
No matter how many hours you play "bot or handgrind" everyone here has 1 common problem, addiction or just a lack of other things to do so we all go online and do whatever we want.
If you really have a life stop playing video games ,stop going on forums,
check your mail and put your pc off, THAT is called having a life.

some people find 1 hour playing time a lot others find 3 hours a lot and some can play all day and still would love to play more if they could it is a choice you are not here to judge others on that.

how about "got no time to handgrind > quit sro?"
keep on complaining but don`t do in on srf
do it on silkroadonline.net maybe if people complain there as much as they do here we might get a change :roll:

SRO has been wiped from my harddrive. I couldn't stand the problem, so I quit. Putting yourself through torture inorder to play a game is plain stupid in my opinion.

SilkroadForums has been quite tiring of late, it used to be nice and friendly, but all I see when I go into General Discussion are bot threads, and threads complaining about bot threads. Off topic? BOOM stupid spam and crap posted by notorious spammers. You know who they are, I won't name them.

Should I nuke these threads? No, because then I come off as "pro-bot" or I get pm's saying how I'm "abusing my mod power", or how I've "changed due to mod power". Either way, if someone decided to lock off of those threads, there'd basically be no forum left.

wow. SRF used to have more anti-botters than bot supporters... If you think there's way too many anti-bot threads, then i have to say that the threads I read have more bot support than I'm used to.

I'm surprised and disappointed in the community. But Ryoko's post saying that they're banning pro-bot users give a glimmer of hope

no. we are still anti-bot. but since we cant do anything about it, then we'll jsut have to deal with it.

Botters won't be banned. People who post pro-bot bullshit are banned. Generally these tend to be botters.

lol @ topic starter for 1. If all the people who hate bots leaves that leaves only bots.. screw that. Me and a few unions in xian will fight bots till the end of SRO, we wont leave. To leave is to give up. And as xianians we dont know how to give up (bad 300 movie pun about how spartans are stubborn), but seriously, screw giving up I am currently compiling a large bot list from xian and athens I got about 6000 names total so far. So if everyone took a little time out of their busy grind scheduel to go and catalogue bot names and over 200 people (just an example) If all "200" players posted the same or similar bot lists I think joymax would have all the complaints they need to ban said bots. But too bad people dont think like I do apparently. I'm a 1 man bot spotting army

Commending somebodies post with a +1 should be something of rarity, a complement of sorts that appraises the poster for his wise words and for something that more than deserves to be restated. The bot issue has been something that has been with SRO since the beginning. They started as amazingly simple applications that resembled macros more than bots and have evolved to the bot of today; one that can 'play' the game for you. I started as an anti-botter myself. Ever since alpha I messed with them. I screwed with some of the chinese botters during early beta by dropping trails of 1 gold stretching miles and miles just to pull a botter to more deadly mobs, during alpha I bombed them with protectors [having friends attend to escape the cool down], during later beta, the rage was giving them murder status, during which I probably gave over 200 botters murder, and did so again during the small time frame where they would attack your wolves. Bots have been around since the beginning, much like I myself, and I've screwed with them for as long as I could. We have ALL gotten sick of them, and we have ALL gotten used to the fact that they are here to stay. JM finds a way to block them, the bot makers find a way to bypass it. [a la the USSR and the USA during the 50s~70s]. I'm not a bot lover, I'm not a bot sympatizer, I merely stopped giving a shit. Plenty of my friends are botters now, hell, damn near anybody I come a cross in Takla is a botter now. I no longer report them, I no longer bitch about them, and I no longer voice in the rather large number of "oh noes, fuxxor teh bot!" threads. All I do now, is grind, and occasional mess with the bots like in the old times.
