My thoughts:
Holy shit. How the **** do you turn your buffs off like sdub said?
1* popping is fun as hell! Omg, I love watching my thiefs attack merchants. I just walk around east ferry and own the place and noone does shit cuz in rome everyone is too busy grinding lol. I atk lvl 20's with my lvl 35 thieves. And some lvl 52 Hunter comes and killls me in one-hit. It all evens out. I don't talk shit when that happens cuz it happens alot lol. One-star popping has it's downside, because unlike just straight robbing a 5* (which is hard as hell cuz noone has the balls to do a 5* except me and PsYch008 but w/e) anyway unlike straight robbery, you have to stalk your victim, wait patiently as your venom (npc thieveS) makes its way into their lowbie bloodstream (meaning your npc kills them lmao.). 1* popping is the funnest thing you can ever do as a thief, except for owning alot of hunters in a row, getting wanted, and not having anyone that can kill you thats fun too but anyway... So yeah. And it's not for that "10k profit" its for that "60k profit and about 90% lvl 1 thief exp" because it's that easy. Get a 5* bactrian camel load at lvl 3x and you're dam near lvl 2 thief right off the bat. Awesome! Of course I ruined it by doing 5* and 3* trades but whatever hehe. I also try popping higher lvl 1*'s just to annoy them lol.
Im a big-time suppoter of 1* popping. There is almost no other way to lvl up your thief lvl. Noone has the balls to do multistar. And hunters give less than 1%. You would have to actually grind on hutners if it were possible. But merchs give gold and tons of exp so ima stick with 1* popping lol.
But when the updates come out i dont think i'll even thief I might just be a straight merchant, 7 trade outposts and new trade items and all those other things... Wow.. Seems fun
And I don't mind helping "noobs" (which i kind of consider myself as one being that I have never been past lvl 37
). I will if all this shit Ryoko and everyone else is talking about starts to happen. But so far I have given out tons of gold, like 300k+, i have answered tons of questions, and I've gotten it all back. You know how? I get pm's from random people saying "hey you helped my friend thats awesome heres that 100k you gave him, no take it, trust me its no big deal for me, cuz im lvl 5x lol." You never know who has a high lvl friend so be nice to everyone. Everyone except people who dont speak english. Im mean to them. Lol j/k
brAmmee. (hes a ducth guy I met in-game lol.).
im done rambling... i really dont even know what I just typed. but yeah.
How do you turn your buffs off??

the question was well formed and there were a few very honest answers fom nightbloom, ryoko, and others. Yet you chose to ignore them because you didn't like them.
They've stated the problem exactly. I hate going into jangan. Begging, trade spams, friends requests, hunt for me, help meeeeee, and general harrassment are what higher level plays get. It makes me want to do evil things to low level players.
Why do we ignore you.. because we are busy. Sorry.

wah, i didn't know ignoring a low lvl will get your name posted on forum nowadays.
the 'questionmark sun' funtion is there for a reason(the one that indicates u wanna help nublets) tho i think most ppl are using it for cosmetic purposes lol. It's not the obligation of high lvls to help/teach low lvls. Fansites like silkroadforums and SRT are there for a reason too, juz a few mins of searching and u will get the infos you want.
yes you are annoyed high lvls ignored you, but whats the point of posting his nick on this forum? trying to hurt his reputation or as an act of revenge?

Its not snobbiness, its just that you answer that question over and over and over... and if you are standing there talking to your friends, how annoying is it when someone walks up and starts pelting you with questions irl?I sometimes answer, sometimes not. It depends on my mood. THe really annoying part is if I am nice about it, I get a friend invite and the next thing I know, I am trying to explain builds and/or alchemy to some noob with a million and one noob questions. Its not that its a bad thing, its more like, I didnt get to this level standing around shooting the breeze, I level.
I tell all the noobs that ask me silly questions to come here and look it up.

lol I would consider myself pretty nice to noobs, but I dont like talking to random noobs much for one, most of em seem retarded, because after they ask me a simple little question and I answer them with a simple little answer they say "gold plz" wtf is that >_>, if its not that then they dont stop asking stuff, and now your thier friend, whenever they want osmething they will come to you, I even helped some noob go on a trade run after I killed a thief who stole his loot, he got it back and when we got to jangan hes like "10k pls" OH MY GOD, I wanna rid world of noobs, being low lvl doesnt make you a noob, being a fkin idiot makes you a noob.

If you 1* pop for fun, you need a life. I'm not saying you do Pimp, but I just had to say that.
If you whine about 1* popping, you need a life.
Geez! guys this is a freaking game get over it.
Popping is a part of the game, i was low level and i used to get pop'ed.
I didn't come here to this forums and start whining!
Everytime i get pop'ed i used to laugh!
Also i reply to newbies when they need help, questions, help getting somewhere or whatever. but it gets annoying sometimes.
Whenever i get to jangan, i have to turn off exchange, turn off party, and make sure my friends list is full.
I help someone when he asks me to escort him on a trade, but i pop sometimes.
I play for fun.And if its going to take me to kill every level 20 doing 1* trade to have fun, then i am going for it.
Okay good thing I've never traded in my SRO lifetime. I'm just defending the people who do complain, cos I can totally see their point of view. And I also see the high lvl point of view, cos, as I said, I've been one of those high lvls in another MMO. And ya I know, if you answer one question, you get bombarded with more often enough. And sometimes they do turn into stupid questions. The other day I had a noob ask to look at my blade. I did put it up on trade, and he tries offering me all this junk for it, so I declined and told him no. He kept following, so I just stopped answering lol. Simple as that.
Once my friend was going to give me a bow level 60 near jangan and some noob kept exchanging with him, and by mistake he gave him the bow. He thought it was me.
[Edit]: Quoting is messed up -.-
I'm waiting in my cold cell, when the bell begins to chime.
Reflecting on my past life and it doesn't have much time.
'Cause at 5 o'clock they take me to the Gallows pole,
The sands of time for me are running low.
Can it be that there's some sort of error.
Hard to stop the surmounting terror.
Is it really the end, not some crazy dream.

In my opinion, what Pimp said is the dumbest thing I've heard in my SRO career. So good for you, for having an opinion zexy. Want a cookie?
You 1* pop for fun, you're a bitch who needs a life. Good for you if you don't agree.

first of all, the 1*-popping discussion stops here. either you like it or you don't. end of story. thanks.
second of all, i respond to every PM i get from every noob. i have about 12 people on my friends list who are there just so they can ask me questions about the game. i have guided people through character building, jobbing, creating guilds, you name it. i can generally do that and farm at the same time, and if not, i tell themn to PM me later. makes me feel good to help them out, and it doesn't cost me anything.

thank you very much SG.
when i say noobs, im not talking about gold-beggars. that's totally off-topic. i hate those people too.
i have nothing against a lvl 70 popping another lvl 70 (or even 5x, 6x) 1-star trade. i have something against a lvl 70 popping a lvl 20's one-star trade.
and like SG says, the 1-star issue ends here. i just wanted to say that's not what my thread was about...

Most "high-levels" have als been n00bs once and went (at least most of them) through that "getting-in-touch"-part you have in a game ... but getting an answer or not usually depends on the topic it is about and the _way_ you ask it ... most low lvls like to flame before asking something neutral ... as this is the totally wrong way round no experienced player would answer that ...
but if you put your questions straight and if they are outstanding concerning they are about something that is not commonly known, you should generally get an answer ... I had some nice chats with 6x players (when I have still been a total n00b) which just came out of a funny situation or whatever, but it worked out and you started to talk about this and that and afterwards they even help you with doing things other people would never do for you if you asked them randomly ...
even coming in my guild (XMP) has been a very funny trip as I first had some serious beef with one of the leaders but after that was settled I even got an offer to join as we suddenly found a very positive and gentle basis ...
and they didn't even have real use for me as I had been only 3x, but as soon as I was 42 I joined a bunch of players ALL higher than me ... ranging from mainly end of 5x to 70 ... so they didn't take me for being a high-lvl, they took me for the way we communicated and had a good time
so my general statement is: the way you are treated by players, especially high-level players, _extremely_ depends on the way you contact them, chat with them, behave in the communication etc.
that may not fit to ALL high-level players, but most of them ARE contactable and even can be friendly...
just my long 2 cents

Anyway Amen to this post. The bottom line is: You were all noobs once, so why the hell would you enjoy making another noobs SRO day shitty? You've all asked a 'noobish' question once (noob, by definition, means 'new player': obviously noobs will ask new player questions), so whats the crime in a noob asking you one of those questions when you're higher lvled?
All of you high lvls, you're defending yourselves against things he didn't talk about. He didn't say it was rude to ignore gold beggars. I talk shit to gold beggars. He didn't say it was rude to ignore party request spammers. I ignore them too. He's talking about the harmless, natural questions a noob would ask, such as 'where do I buy void rondo's?', and the asshole replys or lack-there-of delivered back.
i'll answer to such a question, but 9 out of 10 times you answer 1 question from a low lvl, the low lvl keeps on asking and asking. Tell em to look it up sro.mmosite.com and get replies like, but you can tell me now !!
Screw those, make friends with your own lvl first, then get in a guild and get to know somewhat higher lvls etc etc.. don't start your question spree on someone you don't know just cause its a high lvl.
I gave a lvl 15 guy who asked for mp pots 100k. I would have been so happy for that when i was 15. But instead of saying thanks, he ask me if i can give him sos stuff and more money. Those noobs just piss me off.
But i'm usually nice to normal, low level players, and answer their questions. Not to those who are like the guy that i write about above tho.

The guy you talk about is a fucken piece of shit. There was a guy going 'arrows plz arrows plz' at tigers and I had a bunch that my monkey picked up, and I'm not an asshole, so naturally I gave em to him. He didn't even say thanks. Asked for more, then ran off. Mo fucker if we had been over lvl 20 I woulda murdered his ass. Alot of noobs are big time assholes, more so than alot of high lvls. Just in different ways.
But like I said earlier, you guys are addressing things he didn't bring up. He wasn't talking about gold beggars or idiots that spam trade/party requests, or those types of pests. He was talking about the simple and TRUE fact that the majority of high lvls simply ignore low lvls, no matter the question. I've been guilty of it in another game...sometimes you're just too busy or not in the mood. But most times I'll make an effort to answer their question...if not, I apologize. I know how hard it was for me to find someone kind-hearted enough to tell me where the hell General Sonhyeon was, or where to buy void rondo's. It took awhile, and it just plain shouldn't.

well i can understand both sides. For the noobs i think i good be great if joymax starts to give some support to the fansites (i dont know if they are doing so, but i dou¿bt it). its quite hard to get info about SRO sometimes and the one at the official site is incomplete in most of the cases.
For the higher lvl and also for the not so high, this game is screaming for a ignore list. I'm not a high lvl and i know how annoing is to run around a town or a farming area closing trade windows. The funiest thing happend to me a couple weeks ago, i started a new character to try a pure str skill. I was running around jangan (with a lvl 5 characte o.O) and i got 3 noobs asking me for gold... now that i think about they could think that i was rich for the glaviel i was using... (a lvl 1 glaviel... o.O)
I hope they start to add some features to the game, like the ignore list, i think i read somewhere that with the new update hunters will get paid from npc (or something like that) at the end of the trade, etc

Just a bit of advice:
Many high levels are STUPID to go to Jang and show off and then complain about low level harassment lol
To everything else, there are assholes out there, that's really all that can be said unfortunately. You know those 14 year old bullies who steal candy and lunch money from small kids and then laugh about it? But someone has to be the bad guy and it's good to clean out the trash.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the game

You know, we don't go to Jang to show off. We go there for the sweet deals on weapon elixers.
