I would never dream of buying gold using real money...the majority or money for sale is accumulated from people using bots to collect gold and in the end, its a cheat, a way of not having to make the money yourself.

It is also illegal to sell gold as Joymax has said, the gold is not your property and therefore anyone buying it is aiding someone acting illegally

Well I am not afraid to admit that I have thought about buying gold. but I thought about it for a while and I dont want to contribute to the botters not because they have annoying names, but because the more people buy gold, the more items are going to be expensive. If an item is for sale at 20 million and a gold buyer offers 50 million then the seller will sell all his stuff at 50 million. So I would rather have not a lot of gold and not see the prices go up.

To people that say that without real money gold you cant have good items ... join a good guild. Seriously guilds are the reason I stick to this game, its all about sharing with your friends, sure someone from my guild stole an sos weapon worth over 10 mill from me, am I mad? Yes, will I quit my guild? No. Because I know by staying in my guild and helping people (It has been over a month since I sold something to someone I dont know from my union, everything I dont need goes into guild storage). If I need something, I can ask my guildmates. Need money for an uber 1337 weapon? Do friggin runs. Multistars are fun, get you gold and raise your job experience.

The general consensus is that its wrong to buy gold, yet people tend to protect those who sell gold. For instance, BIG NAME GUILDS, often protect gold farmers, you know the ones with 50 stacked bulls, trading all day and all night. There reasons: "there not botters! there real people!", or "there Chinese, leave them alone!", yeah well so am I, who cares... or maybe even "we get a share of the profits... piss off!"

What im trying to say is, buying gold wouldnt be an issue if there weren't any gold farmers, goldbots, lobster glaivers killing yeowas, scorpions, robbers, ongs, etc

EDIT: Anyways, from what i read from silkroad tavern and here, alot of people seem convinced that there not botters, but just chinese people on multiple accounts =___=; and that there harmless. But, the whole "there are not botters, but real players" argument is completely flawed. Since most gold-traders are lvl 6x+ with names like Hou-01, Hou-02, Hou-03, etc. I dare you to even try to say that there not botters. ......real Chinese players am i right?

Also, any fool would know those gold traders/farmers/lobster glaivers killing yeowas, scorpions, robbers, ongs, etc will eventually drive up prices like mad.

botting is botting, not buying gold wont stop the bots. I havent bought gold but I dont really care about people buying gold, if that will make the game more fun for them then they can use their money however they want. It might not be morally right to those who wanna work hard to earn their gold, but its really the only way to compete with these botters and gold farmers

Ive boughten 300 silk once, i havent bought gold yet, but i know a dependable site that my friend has bought gold from, he hasn't gotten scammed//hacked, and i dont believe it is a botting site or w/e idk though so feel free to correct me, and think in your own pathetic little world that im stupid for w/e reason.

I really am seriously considering buying gold for my characters though. I cannot hold onto anything more than 100k for more than a day. im sick and tired of seeing mediocre (at best) weapons going for MILLIONS of dollars. I had the opportunity to buy a som+7 bow, however, guess what. I didnt have enough gold. So yeah. im seriously pondering buying gold.

oh and by the way, I seriously, have nothing else, to spend my miniscule amount of cash on. I have no bills, seeing as im a freshman in high school, I have no car payments, seeing as im not old enough to legally drive, I have no need for $60 jeans and shit, so clothing really isn't that expensive, and everything else is provided for me through family, and my friends. Seriously. one of my friends gets like a $50 a week allowance. lil bastige... hehehe... Oh, and all my..."devious" expenses are provided through other friends.

So I really see no problem in dropping $50 in rl money to get some silk and in-game gold.

If you want to save gold, deposit stuff in storage, so you aren't tempted to spend it.

A friend of mine hit level 52 and decided to get a really good spear. So what did he do? He went out and spent about $200 for 100mill in gold. He bought a level 52 SoM +5 spear. He bragged about how "good" he was and always seemed to be showing off...

Two weeks later... he got hacked.

Me on the other hand... I haven't bought gold. It's tempting though... especially considering how much it costs to level up a guild lol. But thankfully the new alchemey allows you to build kickass high level weapons to resell for lots of gold. That's how I earn it.

Seems like a pretty good idea at the time but not after you are in an isolation chamber, with your dick falling to pieces after contracting some badass STD eg. a rare strain of syphilis.

Note: I'm not sure how contracting rare STDs is related to buying gold but I think those of you with psuedo-intellectuality as your forte can make sense of it somehow.
