Re: Done with Silkroad... for now.
Well, its been 2 and a half months and I have successfully completed my Basic Military Training here at Lackland AFB and I ship out to my tech school within a few days. I'll be playing every so often in my off duty time, but its always Service before Self here in the Air Force... so it wont be as often as I used to before I enlisted; and it looks like SRO has a new update. What was added because the SRO main site isn't very helpful in showing whats new?

You are done with BMT? I thought it was 3 months long, not 2 months. I know this because my friend is in the Marines, well two of them are.

holy sh!t, you know anyone named [FI] Ahhhh! ?
Re: Done with Silkroad... for now.
Nope, all I remember was an [FI] DarK and he taught me a bunch of shit on HPC. I havent talked to that dude on Xfire in forever though.
I dont have the new SRO installed yet cause I gotta find a place that has internet thats faster than AOL 4.0, and if anyone here plays in Odin, what changed? Like whos got the fort(s), is it still Dynasty vs GenoCide, etc... Cause when i left, we had just got the zombie suit.. whatever that one that changed during the hours of darkness.

Irony because the Air Force and Navy are the smarter of the branches.

my dad took me on a tour of SANG (Selfridge Air National Gaurd, i live 6 minutes away and my dad works on base) and it was funny he said there is this navy building (one of the like 2 or 3 on base lol... everyone is leaving SANG right now they might be getting ready for shutdown soon??) and he said like when he does inspections hes not allowed in there. and they're generators turn on at seemingly random times when theres no power outage(to hide they're power usage). he said its "secrete squirrell buisness" lol!!
OT: i really ment no disrespect with what i said. im sorry if anyone thought that. my dad was in the airforce for 15 years, and he actually wants me to join because "its the easier of the brances" sence im not in the best of shape.

Re: Air Force Career
BMT was... interesting. Since I was part of the 3rd cycle of the new 8 1/2 week program (extended from the old 6 1/2 week BMT); my flight had quite a bit of downtime.
Heres how it went in a nutshell of what we did.
0 Week to 1st Week = In Processing, drug tests, dental, initial clothing issue, haircuts, learn how to do drill and the procedures.
2nd week to 5th week was getting ready for the BEAST (Basic Expeditionary Airman Skills Training), which takes over the old Warrior Week in which we learn Integrated Base Defense, Self Aid and Buddy Care, Law of Armed Conflict, Uniform Code of Military Justice, shooting an actual M16 Rifle, CBRNE gas chambers and etc...
6th week is the BEAST; where you go to a small area in the Medina Annex near Lackland AFB where they have all these TEMPER tents set up; basically its as if you were defending a base from insurgents and you apply all that you learned from 2nd week to 5th week here.
7th week to 8th week is practicing for the Retreat Ceremony, the Airmans Run, your final evals and then if you've made it... graduation.

Re: Air Force Career
3 weeks seems like a short ammount of time to learn to fly a jet.

^^ mAd propps to Verfo for the sig:P thankx man!
Re: Air Force Career
couple things. he's not in the air force to fly, those guys go through years of training before touching the jets.
And overall, the Air Force is physically easier ON THE WHOLE. the air force pararescue guys are top of the line. I have heard stories from army guys of how green berets and navy seals don't mess with pararescue. Those guys get all the special ops training that the seals and other special ops guys get, then they have medical training on top of that. the air force may be easy, but they also have (in my opinion) the toughest of the special forces.
Good luck in the Air Force, you'll probably see me in 4 years. Im hoping to be forward air control and ship out with the ground forces.
Until then, good luck

What he said, and to add some more information, you have to be a Commissioned officer to be able to pilot the aircraft. And as he said about pararescue, my MTI (Military training instructor) was once himself part of the Combat Search and rescue team, and I tell you what, he knew his shit. I myself have SatCom (google the AFSC of 2E1X1, look at the usmilitary.about.com site)... but I plan on crosstraining into communications - computer systems operations after a few years (3C0X1). If the economy is going bad after my 6 year enlistment is over, I plan on re-enlisting for an additional 4 years.
