Best solution to the gold bot problem is to target the gold buyers leave the gold bots watch track where to gold goes to im pretty sure all the gold bots transfer to 1 account and then when someone buys the gold they can see who it goes to ban the gold buyer.
If they keep banning gold buyers and have gold buyer lists instead of bot ban list i think it would be much more effective.

Re: New bot ban 03/06
Shouldn't davis be banned already for either bot support or actually botting.
@Gennair. Kay. Your obviously not high enough level to actually realize what these bans are doing. Try piles of that in hotan...there's gold bots on babel that are 85+ there lvl'ing as fast as the friggen player bots.
It went from this:
(Which is well over 100 bots in that pile, I counted...after an inspection)...
to that SS you have where there all stuck in jangan...

Completely right about everything except the last item. Does anyone remember when every time there was weekly maintenance, the bots would be gone for a day or so? IIRC, that amount of time kept going down and down until a matter of a few hours. The reason the bots were gone, is not cause they hadn't logged in, it's because the packet encryption was changed, and the bot maker needed to update. Thing is, they eventually started solving the encryption so fast, that it didn't matter that it happened anyways.
Nope. The bot was not working because of the release of a new sro_client. Since the bot was hooking its code into specific client addresess, once there was a nw client with different code placing the bot injected it's code into the wrong place causing the client to crash.
The only real change in packet headers was an inspection before the euro update inspection. They rewritten all packet headers so You had to capture them again to reprogram bot functions. That was also the time when there were no bots for a week or so.

I've suggested a way-point tracker on the server side many, many times in the past. A feature like that definitely should not be client-side or the bots will find a way to disable it or work around it. Keep it server side.

One thing you fail to realize is that many player bots run their own fleet of gold bots. I've seen enough screenshots of players multi-clienting 10+ clients at a time.
If people would stop buying gold, the gold bots (from the gold companies) would go away. Gold bots run by player-bots would stay of course. Either way, player bots ARE a problem.
Edit: Sorry for the double post. I tried to edit it and combine the two, but for some reason Firefox is REFUSING to copy/paste any text whatsoever. It just pastes "(none)" into the edit box for my post.
I guess that's what I get for running my system off of a LiveCD that was remastered with incorrect drivers.

i've seen some of those screenies myself and some of those were faked, ie. running other applications and made to look like multiclienting.
if multiclienting was so easily available, then the server traffic situation is gonna be a lot worse than it is now considering many players are botting. such massive multiclienting is probably limited to a small group who are capable of creating the multiclienting bots themselves, or goldbot companies. the general mass shouldnt be able to multiclient like 10 or more ... else it is really gonna be crazy.
juz my thoughts.
