first.
If you can offer perfectly accurate explanations and make perfectly accurate statements, you have to be some sort of 'God'.
to this. i will simply repeat strangelove's words:
Not necessarily. This would only be true if you're equating religion with self-consciousness, and objectifying human nature to mean "God"
second.
You can't call yourself a Christian when you need other things than Christianity in life, to work for you.
i DO NOT NEED other things besides Christianity to work FOR ME. but. other things DO WORK for OTHER PEOPLE. that's why i say it's whatever. besides. as long as i don't believe that jews will go to "hell" because they don't believe in Jesus, then i must believe that nobody else will either. furthermore, if i believe that jesus is God, then it follows that by saying the only way to God is Jesus, then i'm really saying the only way to God is God, not necessarily Jesus. but that's on the theistic side.
again. i cannot read the heart of another man. contrary to the evangelical and proselytizing movement, Jesus doesn't instruct us to convert. only present the good news of the kingdom and for whoever accepts, make them disciples. take paul for example in acts 17:22-34, specifically 32-34. even Jesus condemns proselytizing (matthew 23:15)
third.
you are correct in saying that arguing that "the bible says so" is circuitous. whoever does that has failed to provide reason for what they believe (I peter 3:15). if you want to make such a claim then say "i choose to believe the bible is true. you don't have to. it is my personal conviction". but almost no christian does that. when asked why the bible is true, they continue to emphasize that it really is. this is just a symptom of failure to admit that it is possible for it to be false.
fourth.
my definition of being a Christian is unconventional. to me. being a Christian simply means you have chosen to believe that Jesus enjoyed perfect union with God and that is an example of what man can achieve. the things that Jesus teaches (which is synonymous with many other world religions) are things to live by and a man who tries to live by them in addition to striving to attain that perfect union with God/the divine is trying to be like Jesus, hence the term Christian as first used in Antioch.
finally. i must mention.
i have an agenda to change Christianity in two ways. the language and method of presentation. continuing to present it the same way it was presented in medieval times and before the englightenment or the concept of relativism doesn't work. spitting back what you've been told because you trust the words of the old guys doesn't work. christians must learn to think for themselves and REASON their faith as far as possible.
i wasn't trying to speak so much. i prefer listening to people and learning from them. but.
@Gaigemasta.
last i checked (2 months ago after more than a year) the guild was dead.
Rukerr is still listed as the guild master but nobody in the guild is online or active. i never knew how to contact her outside of the game so couldn't do anything about transferring leadership to an active/semi-active player.
