Me and my friends are in Pacific server and living in the Philippines, Asian region. We adjusted our playing time to be able to skip peak server hours, we sleep earlier and be able to wake up 4AM in the morning, the time when all servers are already populated. I just noticed these past weeks even thou servers are mostly populated, xian and other older servers including pacific remained crowded at 3500 server cap, I'm just wondering how many BOTS are there in that 3500.

I only buy silk for my pick pet atm, I just buy premium if i took a long vacation or december(many holidays)from work

What this guys says i believe is mostly true. it is a business and i cant for the life of me imagine joymax banning everyone that purchases silk. When they do ban people check the names, i bet most dont know any of them. The ones that get banned i bet use a clientless bot as well. As long as the money rolls in to joymax there is nothing wrong with the game.

For those still too ignorant... the premo tickets ARE for the legit. They can't solve the bot problem... They either have to prevent the botters from botting or just leave them alone. They ban all the bots, and bye bye Silkroad. The premo ticket is a temporary solution for those that bitch about the crowded servers. Take it as it is.

The risk to banning player bots are straightforward and should be obvious to most Legits: Joymax fears doing a massive banning of player bots because if they perform said ban there might be massive chargebacks, which would cause their [joymax's] agreement with paypal to be terminated. Meaning No way to collect money [other than credit, but the problem with credit is CCF] meaning Isro goes down.

Basically Joymax has spent so much time ignoring the problem that its near impossible to reverse it, without taking isro down with the bots.

FINALLY, someone listens to what I've said a hundred times.

Bot ban = chargebacks = paypal dropping JM = no income to pay for the game = no game.
Until JM comes up with a payment method like Blizzard has for WoW, like direct payment of some sort, they'll go bankrupt if they do a bot ban.

They are doing this so they can fill up the servers and so NOBODY can play!

They should all be IP banned.

It's true, the gold botters could be more easily taken care of, but there's two problems:

A: The shear volume of them
B: They'll just make more

And the problem with IP banning is three fold

A: You can change your IP
B: A lot of people play in cybers [ie... ban the ip branch, ban the whole cyber]
C: A lot of accounts are also played on multiple ips.

The bot problem is a lot more complex then some people claim it to be. Sure, I could go and ban myself a 1000 gold bots in a day, but the following day all 1000 will be back on new accounts...

ok guys your solution to your problem go to one of this three server odin, mercury, and i think pluto i can get in them on when server traffic is at its peak. also ip ban would work like the guy says cause it is very easy to change it to a different one i have done it to make a extra 20 accounts to store elixirs. waiting for 90 cap to get rich.

Stop complaining . Get used to it , live with it , makes ur life easier. Half of the posts in forums is people complaining about bots. How much more complaining will ya need to do before u understand that ur asking joymax to stop making money ?

If they could, 90% of the population wouldn't bot. Joymax knows what the problems with their game are. They market this game and try to fix issues that might discourage others from joining and perhaps buying silk. The botting problem isn't that easy to resolve. For each countermeasure Joymax implements, the bot coders will create their own means to circumvent it. People scream thinks like punkbuster or steam's vac2, but even those would know that it isn't hard to aim or wall hack with these in place. The only way I could think to simply REDUCE [yes, reduce, not eliminate] the botting problem is by setting up an actual team of gms and start TEMP banning players caught botting for a week or so. It might not be too drastic, but if you got temp banned every other week for a week I bet you'd reconsider using the bot. [But even this would take considerable time and money. You would need a fairly large team of gms to monitor all the servers. 2 or 3 each shouldn't be too bad. Put a bug report in place in the game to report possible player bots needing investigation. Abuse of the system would also result in a 1 week temp ban.]
