Recreating a deleted character's name, not working?

Forgive me if this has been posted already... if so I would love the link ^^

But I tried searching and came up with zip...

Well, I wanted to restart a character of mine and wanted to use the same name, so I decided to delete the old one and just wait out the 7 days. After the week finished, I logged back on and named him. Then to my surprise, I got the user already exists message.

So I thought to just wait another day since his name probably didn't get deleted from the database... then again the following day I received the same message...

I'm assuming it could be a glitch or an intentional thing by JM.

Just wondering ^^

yeah i tried the same thing recently, got the same message. So your not the only one.

Sure there the chance that people did take both of our names, but my name was a bit too unique to take >.>

You know I assumed the same thing too... thanks ^^ now I don't feel so left out.

Oh that suck. The bots steal all the nice name and now got banned. We cant use it again. And later there will be only bad names are left for us, like "afegghr", "gdzvzr".... :banghead:

Wrong.After u delete your character completely you can use that name again.I did same

Log in silkroadonline.net and go to your account information
you will see all deleted characters as a choice to use, you cant recreate a deleted character name, guess it works like banning an account cant make the same account again.

Yes you were able to. I did it a while ago. Messed up my build so I deleted him and re-made the char.

Banned accounts and chars still exist, you have no right to use their names...But hey don't worry, maybe they will fix this name glitch by 2107 lol

Honestly, only people that use popular names / words usually have this problem...for me, nickname Skandal worked 1st try...and belive it or not, Skandal is a turkish word...
And yeah, afegghr is a nice name ...imagine people's faces when they see : [adjklas] has killed Lord Yarkan from Taklamakan...

The same with job aliases. I can't reuse MeatWagon on my new character. BTW, who can name a low level trader? I'll pay 1 million for the best attempt
