Unless your sub cannot where the clothing of your primary class.
I have a warrior and like to primarily wear heavy armor for its defensive purposes. But, Rogues cannot wear heavy armor. So, I'll have to buy light armor for my rogue subclass.

Yes, the type of armor you use will effect which cleric skills you can use.
That's totally wrong. The passives don't limit the skills which can be used. They just provide bonuses when the right conditions are met.
Light armor: Extra str, int, phy def buff
Robe: Extra healing
But it won't matter for a wizard anyway since both need a cleric rod to work.

Wow ok calm down its just a game don't get too excited...
Light armor is better imo, because it is balanced good for when nukers nuke you and when tankers crit you.

I got the cleric class for light armor, but I never wear it...its hella ugly xD and pimping two sets just isnt what I would like to do.
Stay robe, since if you level solo, your going to be on int based mobs anyhow(unless u like to die alot) and recovery division heals more in robe, and if your in a party, the other def buffs will make up the difference.

So confident, yet so terribly misinformed.

Ugh... another misinformed fellow... you can be a wizard with warrior sub and wear heavy armor while using wizard skills. As long as you have the mastery you clear the restrictions on use.

When you have a cleric sub you don't need to go for magic based mobs. You will also have to skip from sonars to moles then to yachas then mages?....ugh... that's like 7 levels inbetween each mob. I do just fine with a +2 set without any str on it since i heal after every hit anyway. I can tank 2 mobs that do little less than 1/2 of my hp in 1 shot, without crits and so far I have died 0 times in the caves doing the power earth ghost quest. Saw a few bard wizards get pwned by giants which I killed after that... hehe.
raysisfenix wrote:use robe if u want to walk faster since u have cleric as a sub. Or use scrolls or potions from the grocery store.
10% faster running vs higher survivability....I would rather survive crits than run 10% faster. And the potions are unnecessary in normal grinding... and would cost you way too much to be worth it.
MrBow wrote:use robe, since you can heal yourself.. you dont need that little extra defense
....the type of armor only affects passives, and the robe passive for clerics is hp regen... the same type of thing that the wings give 25% of....Wearing robe will decrease mp usage by 10% and increase speed by 10%, but with light armor and cleric passive, you only have to switch to cleric to get instant def boost and better buffs.... if that part of the passive worked.....A cleric that goes for robes is....not very smart... or very capable of evading hits from anyone and anything.

Wow where are all these ppl get their infos... LoL!
Anyway, NO ACTIVE Skills are based on what kind of armor you're wearing... Some passives do but they also require an accompanying weapon as requirement, so it's nothing to worry about.
If you can keep leveling the sub mastery with your wizard mastery, I dn't see any problems... But you have to take in account how much SP a wizard would need for it's main skill tree before you can even think about maxxing sub also. Wizard skills COST a lot and it's not advisable to do just 1 wizard element tree, not at all...
Pros with Light having a CLeric Sub : If you level the buffs, you can do better def/str buffs compared to doing them on robe. Note: There are no bonuses for Euro armors unlike their Chinese counterpart. Also note that those buffs don't stick on yourself after you switch weapon.

Yes, there are. Try wearing a full suit of heavy armor and then replace it with a full suit of robe, and you will notice the 20% speed bonus. If that ain't enought, do some MP cost calculations to see the 20% mp bonus.

how about someone give a definitive breakdown of lightarms v garms for this build
i'm mostly interested in how you would fare in pvE.
one added thought... light armor+fighting mag based enemies = doesnot mean death for wizard....so please leave this out of pro/con
