Silkroad and Rappelz joining as 1 (sort of)
Me and a few friends of mine are beggining to play rappelz aswell as silkroad, there are awsome similaritys but alot of differences...
we are going to start a guild in both games, so any players who play silkroad and rappelz feel free to come take a look...
currently im the same level in both games, but we're hoping to create a joint game guild, where both games are played...
i can't post this in the guilds section due to it being server co-ordinated...
so naybody intrested in joining PM me
also any one interested in downloading and playing Rappelz I will get the link for you.

I played Rappelz for some time before the euro update. They both launched their massive updates at the same week, but honestly I wasn't feeling like downloading two mega patches at the same time... I I downloaded Silkroad Legend I.
I even felt like paying a visit to Rappelz Epic 4 but I don't find any good download links so meh. That game was cool, if only you didn't dc every time you approached a town.

I just downloaded Rappelz a week ago because I read something about a bot autotrap system. Thought it would be bot free. After installing and patching, I started playing right away. Lasted for 10 minutes, then I uninstalled the game, not because of bots (I didn't see any), but it just felt weird.
Maybe I'm used to SRO.

noob island is boring as f**k but it gets better
I admit the system seems interesting... pretty much like LastChaos (skill related)... but the graphics... bleh... you can't even set it at 1680x1050.... and their highest setting = lowest setting for SRO. If it has good graphic quality when set to max like SRO (and even SRO maxed graphics aren't that good compare to games like wow or lineageII) then I'll play it.

I played Rappelz. Pets were nice but I didn't like the skills. The graphical programming in the cities was about as bad as the detailed shadows in sro. I don't like the thing that if you grind too long the exp you gain starts to decrease. The Rappelz quest are just as repetitive as the SRO quest but the quest are actually worth doing. The npc didn't sell mana pots so you couldn't grind fast(unless thats changed). I got bored and quit.

Lag in the cities was bad and I spent my time trying to get out of there as soon as possible. I use to check stalls but I didn't see any... The main thing I remember seeing was defense cubes and attack cubes. (I think thats what they were called.)

I played Rappelz before the epic4 came out.
I got my strider to lvl 66 w/ a evo 3 chicken (LOL)
Pet system is nice ... but like most have said ... graphics are lacking.
Towns are the worst for graphic lag no matter what your rig is running. I think its more of a rendering issue then anything else.
so ... I DL'd epic4 and installed it ... and it was nice because I had already hit SKills cap (Master lvl) and had saved up about 2 mil SP to spend on the new skill sets.
To be honest ... I wasn't very impressed w/ all the promises they had made about the new skills.
I did give it a chance and spent some time in DP but found the game lacking after playing SRO.
If you have never played Rappelz ... give it a shot ... you might find it fun.
The only other FreeMMO I still revisit is Space Cowboy Online. Because I have 2 top gun Gears and some really nice gear. plus the "Mothership" battles are still uber fun.
Space Cowboy Online (SCO) is a true PvP MMO. Nation agianst Nation.
just my 2 cents

Since the Revolutions update every thing has improved slightly...
the leveling system now works alot faster than it did allowing you to obtain more skills faster than on silkroad,
it still uses the sucky, F1-F2-etc buttons for skills...
but tha game play has improved, there are now roaming creatures to prevent hackers and bots from playing,
although its more limited that silkroad, the thought of playing both was what made me like them, not picking one or the other.
sure rappelz has areas that suck compared to SRO, but there are things wrong with SRO that are resolved on rappelz...
i like both of them because when i get tired of playing one, i can play the other, some times it causes button confusion for me though^^
but rappelz once your over level 25.... is easy as pie and it becomes more fun, farming for PET card drops its proberly awsome
and finally all monster can be petted...
theres 12 hawkmen now moving round the servers, going for somthing like 20mil....
you have all the other thangs rappelz can offer, like riding those dragon things...
at the end of the day i just saw it as a good-ish idea to combine both games in one guild...
