Will Joymax Shutdown iSRO? A concern.
Alright guys, this is one of my concerns. After reading about the game Joymax is about to reopen, Darkeden, which was closed last year due to massive botters and hackers, i have come to an conclusion that Silkroad Online might be the next game they will remove from service. I mean it only makes sense, look at this sad game , jsut look at it. 75%+ are bots and most leet players are leaving this game. Soon no leets will be left and this game will be all about bots and gold sellers. SO if Joymax does close this game, all of us will get screwed over. Espcailyl the ones that spent money on Silk, like i did. We as gamers have no assurance that this game will make it to next year, do we? We have GMs that never log on and/or can't speak english. We have Joymax in Korea and we can't SUE them. So we will all get scewed over if they decide to close the game , liek they did to Darkeden last year. Everyone leave a nice and formal comment. No Flaming and being rude plz. Thanks

Was Dark Eden free to play? As in, no monthly fees and no Item Mall?
SRO still brings money in the pockets, so if that wasn't the case in Dark Eden, they probably won't shut it down.
From what I've seen from DE, it doesn't look all that good, so I highly doubt they'll shut it down soon as long as people are still paying.

Well, I highly doubt that Joymax will shut down silkroad in the nearest future.
Even though a high percentage of the players use cheats such a bots, they still tend to buy silk, meaning profit to Joymax. I have to agree with the above comments regarding Darkeden. It does look like "shitty" version of Diablo 2, and it is doomed to fail. So if DE doesn't turn out to be a success, and Joymax decides to shut down SRO, what are they left with?

What would you get?
A Shit load of money.
144,000
not enough to easily pay your employees and keep the game up

What will happen at the 150 cap (?) when joymax stops adding new features to the game? From what I have heard from higher level friends, there is really nothing to except pvp and jobbing once you are fully farmed, and have hit the level-cap. I know its mmo, and mmo's are supposed to be never ending games, but does it feel like you have "finished" the game when you finally hit level 150 ? Apart from that I think this game will be more and more bot-infested when they introduce the new level caps. You really think it is possible to level to 150 (or 140? ) as a human-being?
Personally I think its not a question if they will shut sro down, but when. But as I wrote in my last post, it probably wont happen in a very, very long time.

Nonsense, just some quick assumption of people who haven't read the article or couldn't comprehend it. The name of Taito corp fell in association with Joymax. The people that created space invaders back in the day and other classics.
Anyway, the part where joymax and taito were mentioned had only to do with arcade halls. To my recollection quite popular in asia. So nothing of the consperacy theories some ppl came up with.

doubt it wont happen after they release 150cap in ksro then they might just shutdown isro since isro fuels the money ksro gets without isro they cant really get ksro updates that fast nor items they give away adn lets say isro does shut down so would ksro and then there wont be a joymax really

Yeah, they would shut down the moneymaker just cause they reached 150 cap in korea. That makes sense...
Bigger chance of them shutting down kSRO cause it isn't making them enough money

Joymax won't shutdown Silkroad unless they KNOW the game losted way too many users. I'm not talking about losing a server full of people. I'm talking about to the point where the isro servers are never even half full. Where servers are ghost towns.. etc etc. That's when they'll limit the servers and compensate(rofl i doubt it) users that are in other servers that still play to other servers. Then the game goes down. That won't happen for another 1~3 years. Depends.. if there is another game that outbeats silkroad with better GMs, activities, etc etc. It depends how things go.

first off... when you get rid of botters and gold bots [about 40 - 70% of a server] you have servers that are normaly crowded, with populated, and servers that are normaly populated with easy.
at night you have easy, this is quite obvious especially the first week after euro [HEAVEN!!]
also another thing,
you notice on weekends servers are crowded even servers that are normaly easy... because casual players are online. [still referring 2 that 1 week]
+ most people dont tell thier irl friends about isro [why would they??]
when i was lvl 20 str hybrid balder [first char] i told all my friends about sro, because i didnt know what a bot is [yes ignorance is amazing] my friends and i played, but they quicly made a transition back to WoW.i was the free mmo guy, who found cool free shiz on the internet.
main point isro is barely breathing.
and its obvious especially after euro just how bad the problem was..
when all servers are on easy 6 pm - 5 am, and populated 6 am - 5 pm after a major bot ban all you can do is gasp
isro wont "die" as in be shut down.
isro will simply become like ksro or csro... its already in the tsro stage [all servers crowded almost 24/7 small leet player base mosly gold bots and player bots]
basically people leave, and dont tell thier friends about the game so here is how it works...
guy logs into sro while 1st week of euro [all pop/easy server] he goes cool game, and tells his buddy. those buddies tell more buddies who tell more buddies who tell more buddies who well you get the point.
info travels fast.
well almost 24/7 crowded server + gold botters killed that traveling info.
you will have the same players, and little by little people will leav the game, BUT because of gold bots the servers apear 2 be crowded with "player bots" [asdasd?? XD a gold bot]
for that reason people are under the impression that for every player that leaves this game 10 take thier pkace well thier wrong.
for every player that leaves this game 10 gold farming bots, come in.
as long as people buy gold and bot, isro will die.
[servers will be easy because people will leave.. the gold sellers will lose interest and leave, the botters will leave... only the die hard SRO lovers will stay till the bitter end AKA ksro/csro]
we are in the TSRO stage.
next is the KSRO stage.
then Finally the CSRO stage..
after that we slowly enter the 60 cap stage
and thats that..
im done with conspiracy theories thier no fun, and thier overly pessemistic.
um im gonna feed my dogs now

IF you look at MMO history, mmos rarely die. Only the company closes the servers because of lack of profit, management changes fails, or the company moves on to something else for profit or the company dies.
Especially for F2P, if the game is playable people play. For a grind game I prefer to not play or play something else, but since item mall is not in your face here I am.
If you play a game like WoW though after sometime from SRO, it could be a rough transition.
and DE is just another game, there making a game portal, not shutting down.

DE was shut down earlier by joymax, because every1 was an ass and used shit speed hacks also joymax gms were nowhere 2 be found.
but that wont happen 2 isro, 2 many people play it
Isro graphics + youtube = more players

It seems as though you all distinguish players who bot and who don't bot. More specifically, it seems as though you define players who bot as not playing at all. I would like to think that the majority of players who play the game mostly all play for one reason, to be able to PvP effectively at some point. This game is basically only 2/3s complete and is very much still in development (all the races haven't even been implemented yet...).
My point is, a player who is botting is still considered to be playing, so whether that player is botting or hand grinding makes no difference... The real enjoyment of the game, in my mind, starts when I hit the cap and can go out and focus on fighting against other players, not grinding (which is simply a means to an end, something that MUST be done, not something WANTED).
SRO is hardly the type of game where you see people grinding for the joy of it, they're all just walking the path to one day hopefully being able to compete at a high level. And lets face it, the people who bot are most likely the ones contributing the most $$$ to the game, since they're most likely the ones who are going to hang around the longest(really, what % of players stay around and actually hand-grind to 80?...) This in turn means that the more players that hang around and bot (thus spending more time with the game in the long run), the more money JM will bring in.
I hardly think you can consider JM closing a game when it's still very much in a developmental phase...

Barotix Softon developed and published the game up till now. Now Joymax is publishing and releasing it, It was not Joymax's fault for what happened before they didnt service the game yet.
Why Joymax choose to reopen a game that failed, is beyond me.

It looks to me that this topic is filling up with BOTing is good posts.
Would be interesting to see the real forum accounts of these posters ^^
since they use alias accounts to fill stupid topics and posts.
Reply to them: Get back to your own forum and leave from here.
Back to the starting post.
You got false infos and made false consequences from that.
First Joymax bought Darkeden from a previous owner, who couldn't deal with it.
And to start from that whatever you wrote has no meaning.
And to reply to the post over this one:
JM decided to buy darkeden because the game was already made, so no costs.
Even a small server can host it, low costs.
For sure it will bring in more money than it will cost to keep it up.
From what I see on the main joymax page i think it will start buying other games
Or make themselves.
Like Aklaim and the others.

this is an anti-bot forum.
i am an anti-bot person
of course i will make that distinction.
+ pt grinding is fun, i dont care about 80, i will be 80 by dec at the pace im going at so im happy.
i dont need a bot 2 be happy.
the only reason im not buying silk ATM is because CVS isnt open yet, and i live in a place were work is not a walking distance
but once CVS opens [its like a 4 blocks away, skating distance] so i will start buying silk again soon.
so premium+monkey+pt grind = fun fast easy lvl, without a bot.
any1 who believes you need a bot 2 lvl is a douche.
i like grinding, because i make it fun.
i blast my arabic music [which i dont understand but it sounds cool
if im in a pt i taunt 2-4 pt mobs and tank em while wizs kill them.
its absolute chaos, and so exciting i love it.
its all about how you grind.
with a rogue grinding is a boring "chore"
but PvP is
but with my s/s it goes both ways, so yes i make a distinction.
they may be players, but thier lazy people who dont understand what games are for.
thier the player who bot 2 lvl 80 are broke then buy gold, then afterwards say thier tired of 80 cap, its boring
also bot players DONT make up the majority of JM's income, a common misconception, but thats understandeble.
especially when the servers are crowded with bots, but dont let the gold botters crowding the server fool you, they dont buy silk
i myself will play till 150 cap
till islam
till heaven
till buddha world
till indus valley
till 4ever.
i love sro, and i hate what people do 2 sro then try to justify what is obviously killing thier game, and when they cant justify it pass the blame torch 2 joymax.
who is simply doing what any1 would to a community of assholes; abandon them.
/calm rant, im sedated
