Consider yourself very warned replying to these threads. We already have rules set for them, follow it if you want to stay.

There has been an uprising in the number of spammed posts made by spambots advertising pr0n, goldbuying, bots, cellular devices, penis pills, dating services, etc. etc. etc. over the last several months. It's gotten particularly bad in the past week or so, with several bots spamming 15+ threads at once sometimes. Sick and tired of reading this garbage? ME TOO! Here's how you can help.

  • DON'T RESPOND TO THEM. If they are the starters of a thread, all that does is bump their post up to the top of the list so that EVERYONE else seens it and has to read it. If you don't respond, it'll gradually move its way to the bottom and even off the page.
  • DON'T QUOTE THEIR POSTS. Quoting something they've posted in a thread means that not only do i have to delete their post, I also have to edit yours for content. This takes me double the time that simply deleting theirs does, and I have lockings to perform :)
  • PM A LINK TO THE OFFENDING POST TO A MEMBER OF THE MOD TEAM. Either link the post directly or just PM us the username so we can search for more posts by them. Better yet, do both; it saves us time. Including a brief but tasteful description of the offense in the post will make our jobs easier too.
  • And most importantly, NEVER EVER EVARRR CLICK A LINK YOU SEE IN THESE POSTS!! This is for your own safety and the safety of your account. These links tend to be positively seething with keyloggers and viruses, and that's the last thing anyone wants. So protect yourself and your data.

Let's face it: the spam problem isn't gonna go away; if anything, with a forum this size it's gonna get worse. If everyone follows these simple guidelines and suggestions, we can keep the amount of spam down to a managable level and allow the mod team to do something other than lock flame posts :) Thanks for your cooperation. Much love SRF!!
